Actress Monica Cruz will step into sister Penelope Cruz’s shoes in the next version of the “Pirates of the Carebbean” franchisee, claims reports from Hollywood. Producers of “On Stranger Tides” have confirmed that Monica will be used as actress and her elder sister Penelope Cruz’s body double in the film in order to hide the growing bump in Penelope’s stomach. Penelope Cruz confirmed earlier this year that she is pregnant with husband Javier Bardem’s child. The child is due at the beginning of next year.

The 36- year-old Penelope Cruz will next appear in the fourth part of the “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchisee and it is being said that Monica, who is three years younger to Penelope, will have to face the cameras for the long distance shots of the actress as her belly bump has become quite prominent now. Penelope Cruz will appear in only the close shots showing portions of her body above the stomach.

Hence, it can be said that “On Stranger Tides” will be more like a family outing for the Cruz sisters, with both getting to play the same character onscreen. Spanish beauty Penelope Cruz first met husband Javier Bardem on the sets of the film “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” where love first bloomed for the couple. While Penelope Cruz had denied pregnancy rumors a few months back, the actress has herself admitted that she is carrying Javier Bardem’s child.
