MUMBAI: Shah Rukh Khan seems to have given in to the Shiv Sena. He cancelled a dinner with Pakistan's entertainment channel after facing opposition from the party.
Last week the Shiv Sena had targeted the actor for being a part of a Pakistani TV channel's event at a time when India was commemorating the 2nd anniversary of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.
On Friday, the organiser of the gala dinner and dance program was adamant that Shah Rukh Khan will be attending despite pressure from India, while later, their website said announced postponement of the Shahrukh Khan Gala Dinner to be held on Sunday 28th Nov in London due to unavoidable and untenable circumstances.
It is not known yet whether the event was cancelled due to the Shiv Sena pressure alone, but Shah Rukh is likely to discuss the reasons for the cancellation later on Monday.

Rabbit Hole is a vivid, hopeful, honest and unexpectedly witty portrait of a family searching for what remains possible in the most impossible of all situations.
Becca and Howie Corbett (Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart) are returning to their everyday existence in the wake of a shocking, sudden loss. Just eight months ago, they were a happy suburban family with everything they wanted. Now, they are caught in a maze of memory, longing, guilt, recrimination, sarcasm and tightly controlled rage from which they cannot escape. While Becca finds pain in the familiar, Howie finds comfort.
Watch Movie Video:
The shifts come in abrupt, unforeseen moments. Becca hesitantly opens up to her opinionated, loving mother (Dianne Wiest) and secretly reaches out to the teenager involved in the accident that changed everything (Miles Teller); while Howie lashes out and imagines solace with another woman (Sandra Oh). Yet, as off track as they are, the couple keeps trying to find their way back to a life that still holds the potential for beauty, laughter and happiness. The resulting journey is an intimate glimpse into two people learning to re-engage with each other and a world that has been tilted off its axis.

To nobody's surprise last weekend Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 dominated the box office by earning $125.1 million. That places it sixth on the list of all-time best opening weekends, right behind The Dark Knight, Spider-Man 3, The Twilight Saga: New Moon, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Iron Man 2, respectively. But with Thanksgiving Day this past week, the new releases all opened on Wednesday, giving them a head start on the competition ... and it may have helped. While Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 did retain the top spot on the charts for a second week in a row with $50.3 million, Disney's new animated musical Tangled, came in a very close second with $49.1 million, almost upsetting the reigning champ.
Holding on to the number one spot for a second week in a row is the long awaited final chapter of the beloved Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1. The film features returning stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Alan Rickman, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Maggie Smith, Helena Bonham Carter, Bill Nighy and Rhys Ifans. While the movie dropped 59.7% from the week before, it was shown on 4,125 screens, earning $12,205 on each screen for a weekend total of about $50.3 million. In just two weeks the movie has earned around $220 million, which already places it 82nd on the all-time highest grossing domestic movies list.
Debuting at number two and coming very close to taking the top spot is Tangled, the 50th animated feature film from Walt Disney Pictures, based on the classic "Rapunzel" fairy tale. The movie stars a talented cast of voice actors including Mandy Moore (A Walk to Remember), Zachary Levi (Chuck), Donna Murphy (Star Trek: Insurrection), Brad Garrett (Everybody Loves Raymond), Jeffrey Tambor (Arrested Development) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy). The movie made $13,628 on each of its 3,603 screens for an opening weekend total of $49.1 million.
Falling one place from last week to number three is the super-hero themed animated family film MegaMind, which stars Will Ferrell (The Other Guys), Tina Fey (Baby Mama), Jonah Hill (Superbad) and Brad Pitt (Troy). While the movie dropped 19.8% from the week before, it was shown on 368 less screens for a total of 3,411. The film earned $3,767 on each screen for a weekend total of about $12.8 million. In just three weeks the movie has earned just over $130 million, earning back its entire $130 million production budget.
Debuting at number four this week is the new music and dance spectacular, Burlesque. The film stars an all-star cast of music and dance icons including Grammy winning recording artist Christina Aguilera, Oscar winner Cher (Moonstruck), Kristen Bell (You Again), Julianne Hough (Dancing with the Stars), Stanley Tucci (The Devil Wears Prada), Alan Cumming (X2: X-Men United), Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy), Cam Gigandet (Twilight) and Peter Gallagher (American Beauty). The movie made $3,885 on each of its 3,037 screens for an opening weekend total of $11.8 million.
Rounding off the top five this week and falling two places from last week is the fifth film from director Tony Scott and actor Denzel Washington (Crimson Tide, Man on Fire, Deja Vu, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3) called Unstoppable. The film is based on the true story of a runaway train in Pennsylvania and also stars Chris Pine (Star Trek), Rosario Dawson (Sin City) and Kevin Dunn (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen). While the movie dropped 9.7% from last week, it was shown on 26 less screens for a total of 3,183. The film earned $3,691 on each screen for a weekend total of about $11.7 million. In just three weeks the movie has earned around $60 million, but still has far to go in order to earn back its entire $100 million production budget.
Continuing to do well in limited release in its debut is the latest film

Spider-Man Gets New Suit Design

It will still be a while before we get a good look at Andrew Garfield in his Spider-Man costume for Marc Webb's upcoming Untitled Reboot (aka Spider-Man 2.0). But Showbiz Spy confirms that the actor has already been put through some quite rigorous dress rehearsals, and that the costume has been given an update with a very "high-tech" design.
No pictures or concept art are available yet, but it shouldn't be too long before pics of the actor in costume are leaked on the Internet for everyone to critique. It is said that numerous fittings had to be done on Garfield to ensure that his crotch area "bulge" wasn't too big. An insider close to the production stated, "One whole day was devoted to make sure there was nothing inappropriate showing in the crotch area of the suit. Andrew should be flattered that it took so long to get that part right!"
The suit's new design will be skin-tight, which is a difficult thing to pull off for a PG-13 movie in regards to showing too much of the actor's genitalia. We know, it certainly sounds funny. But it has been a legitimate concern for a lot of recent superhero costume designers, and it will alter the look of this new Spidey suit made specifically for the screen.

Mary J. Blige will play Justice Charlier, the owner of an exotic dance club named Venus Club on the Sunset Strip. A deal hasn't been made as of yet, although it was said she, "is all in" to play the role.
We reported at the end of October that Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift were in talks to star in the movie and, while Taylor Swift wasn't mentioned in this new report, Tom Cruise is still in talks to star in the musical. However, he was originally in talks to play Dennis Dupree, owner of the Bourbon Room, but now it is said that he is eyeing the role of a "villainous rock singer, Stacee Jaxx."
Chris D'Arienzo is writing the screenplay based off his own play, with Adam Shankman directing and choreographing the musical. No production schedule was released.

Break Ke Baad starring Imran Khan and Deepika Padukone opened to mixed response when it released last Friday (Nov 26). However, the film produced by Kunal Kohli in association with Reliance Big Pictures and directed by debutant director Danish Aslam, seems to be on safe grounds mainly thanks to its correct economics.
In fact the production costs of the film (excluding P & A), 18 crores, had largely been recovered through the sale of satellite and music rights itself and despite the film opening to weekend collections of Rs.10.5 crore nett, it does seem like a profitable venture for its makers.
Break Ke Baad has had some refreshing marketing tie ups, with brands such as Kit Kat, Close Up, Zen Mobile, Venus soaps and Da Milano. These brands have spent money close to the tune of Rs. 2 crores on TV spends in prime slots. The marketing has been innovative, and different, thereby making an impact.
Thanks to its youth appeal, fresh pairing coupled with the right amount of marketing and publicity, the film has even opened to a good response in the overseas market. USA has responded well to the film and Dubai too has received the film well.
Says Priti Shahani of Reliance Big Pictures, co-producer of Break Ke Baad, "It's true that Break Ke Baad has already recovered it's production cost, including marketing costs. Being a hype project, the digital rights (satellite, music and video) were sold at a lucrative price. Marketing and promotions have been effective with brand synergy with Kit Kat, close up and other brands. Break Ke Baad has released across 750 screens in India."
With even some big star-cast films flopping at the Box Office this year, pricing a film correctly has become paramount to avoid huge losses.

Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are two of the most popular Khans who are loved and adored by thousands of fans around the world.
Shahrukh-Aamir to compete globally

Bollywood stars Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan are two of the most popular Khans who are loved and adored by thousands of fans around the world. However, as they say there cannot be two rulers in one kingdom, thus the fight for the ultimate title has always been quite an issue with these two stars as they have always managed to topple each other at some point of time or the other.
There are those who believe that SRK is the ultimate B Town hero, others think that it is perfectionist Aamir Khan who is the be all and end all of Bollywood, but the war still wages on. To talk about B-Town releases, both are at an equal platform, as both stars have hits and super hits that are proof enough to show that each one has his own standing in the world of stardom.
However, there is a slight twist in this competition now. Reports are that both the stars are to do projects with International directors that too, both will be working on projects that deal with the basic storyline of the city of Mumbai.
Shahrukh Khan is to do a project with Danny Boyle, who is scheduled to adapt Suketu Mehta’s 'Maximum City', a novel which is very popular. Aamir Khan with director Paul Schrader, is to adapt 'Ex-Treme City' for producer Anubhav Sinha, which will be based in Dharavi, a slum area of Mumbai.
Now the argument that is going around is that will these two stars be able to deliver something different on the same subject? There is a group that feels that Mumbai is such a city with so much diversity that no two films made on the subject of this city’s life can be the same. Others feel that with the city of Mumbai having a somewhat same flavor, there is not much of a chance to have different flavors in the two films.
With movies like Slumdog Millionaire and the just to be released Dhobi Ghat which are both based on the city of Mumbai, albeit with different angles, it is somewhat being expected that a lot is still to be explored about this city, and hopefully Shahrukh’s and Aamir’s International projects on Mumbai will do the needful.

Bollywood and fashion have always gone hand in hand ever since the consciousness of being fashionable struck India. However, to be fashionable and to look good are completely different things, albeit it can be said that they are two sides of the same coin, sometimes.
Yet, many a times despite not making any real fashion statements, many of our stars are let go scott free only because they look genuinely good in anything that they wear. Two such significant actresses in B-town are of course Aishwarya Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor. Both these beauties have a great aura and stance that has kept them in the running for the No.1 slot in B-town. Even if they do have a great eye for fashion both off and on screen, it is their inner beauty and radiance that reflects out and keeps them looking stunning every time they make an appearance.
But the question is: What keeps their radiance alive? Well the fact is that both these actresses
are in the habit of practicing yoga on a daily basis. Reports suggest that Kareena indulges in a very strict routine of a two-hour power yoga regimen every day. This helps her get rid of all the negativity and fills her with positive energy which helps her to bring out her inner beauty to the forefront.
Ditto for Aishwarya, this mesmerizing beauty too relies on the power of yoga to keep herself fit and healthy. Perhaps the power of this ancient form of exercising the mind and body does have a very significant role to play in making a person genuinely beautiful and lead a life of contentment and happiness. It is perhaps this sense of well being that reflects in a person’s personality. Thus, if Aishwarya and Kareena can practice yoga and look stunning, so can all you folks who would love to be as radiant as these two lovely ladies.

'Harry Potter' and 'Twilight' series belongs to a different genre of films. 'Harry Potter' had a refreshing storyline for the kids and the kids got back to their reading habits. With the soaring popularity the production team of 'Harry Potter' has now split up final part into two to rake in the moolah. Critics are of the opinion that one movie could have been enough instead of splitting it up into two.
The box office reports and collections have another story to tell as the Potter series has made a great business surpassing even the 'Twilight' series. 'Harry Potter' broke all records in the opening day itself. 'Twilight' falls much behind the Potter series in spite of having the heartthrob of millions -Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
In case of the earlier movies of both the series, 'Eclipse' and 'New Moon' has captivated the audience more than the Potter series. The exception to the rule is in the case of 'Sorcerer's Stone' and 'Half-Blood Prince'.
A 'Twilight' movie is just made in about one third of the budget of any Potter movie (Chamber of Secrets was made on a low budget compared to other Potter movies). It’s interesting to note that 'Twilight' series has always managed to reap great dividends irrespective of its budget. According to Moviefone, 'Twilight' was far ahead than Potter in terms of adaptation from a novel. Twilight and Potter caters to two different kinds of audiences. Potter is for the young minds. On the other hand, Twilight series is solely for adults. So it would be quite unfair to compare the two.

After months of speculation on who will be playing the lead role in Vidhu Vinod Chopra's next big production Ferrari Ki Sawaari, the verdict is now finally out and its none other than Sharman Joshi who has bagged the coveted lead role.
Sharman, it may be recalled, played an important part in Vidhu's last production 3 Idiots which went on to become an all-time blockbuster. Industry buzz is that Vidhu Vinod Chopra has taken a bold decision by going ahead with Sharman for the lead role but the maverick filmmaker believes he has made the right choice.
Says Vidhu Vinod Chopra, "We have seen the screen test of Sharman Joshi, and strongly feel that he has understood the character and done a brilliant job in the screen test."
Ferrari Ki Sawaari is certainly a big solo project for Sharman Joshi who has until now mainly made a mark only in multi-starrers. The film, which goes on floors in February 2011, is being directed by debutant director Rajesh Mapuskar (who has assisted the likes of Raju Hirani).
