After Catherine Zeta-Jones dropped out of the project, Rachel Weisz was considered to replace her in the part of Vivien Leigh. Kenneth Branagh plays Laurence Olivier in this movie. Movie Review: The first twenty minutes I wondered which way this film was going, in more than one sense. The acting was not great, the dialogues where not convincing, the scenes in the plane where clumsy and Dutch international movie star Rutger Hauer's character died not long after the beginning. Honestly, with a few exceptions I am not very impressed by the Dutch cinema, was this another Dutch movie? Then the story started to roll and got me more in its grip. The acting was getting better, sometimes real good. What I think is a pity, is that the storyline is filled with flash forwards that do not add much to the story, which is all about the life of Dutch immigrants in New Zealand in 1953 and farther. The film could have been much better if the story was told chronologically and ended somewhere in the 70's or 80's. Now there are two actors for each character, and for me, also knowing the old respectable actors from the old days, this was sometimes quite disturbing. I found it hard to intermingle a character, I saw Willeke van Ammelrooy, not the character that grew old and looked little alike with the younger woman she once had been in the film. I had strongly the impression that the known actors where mostly used to put known names on the billboards. Their parts are relatively small and of little importance for the basic line of the story. Surprisingly, in a recent press meet, superstar Shahrukh Khan had no issues on talking about friend turned foe, actor Salman Khan. King Khan was full of praises for Salman Khan and his upcoming film Ready. He was quite optimistic about the fate of the film.
"I have seen two songs of Ready....they are good," Shahrukh told to the reporters here. Anees Bazmee directorial Ready's two songs, titled 'Character Dheela' and 'Dhinka Chika' have already attained the top slot on the popular music chart number.
When asked if he will see the film or not, Shahrukh cleared that he is not sure if he will watch Ready, but his kids are all set for the action. "My children are going to see the film day after tomorrow. I think it will be a very nice film," he added.

Movie Plot Summary: One Morning in New England, 1940, the entire population of Friar New Hampshire - 572 people - walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. Movie Review: by shawn savage (United States) on 28 May 2011 Buzz has been flying around about YELLOWBRICKROAD for some time now. Recently, the film was picked up for distribution by the newly formed "Bloody Disgusting Selects" label, and will begin a limited theatrical run on June 1st. The film has been touted as "Blair Witch done right". I'm not so certain that's anything outside of a hit farming quote, but I can see why the two films would be compared. A group of people set off into the woods where something horrible once happen in order to uncover the truth, and publish their findings in a book. Navigation equipment begins to malfunction, mysterious music begins to play from an unknown source, and the crew is wearing down very quickly.
The music that I spoke of before is one of the most important aspects of the film. It's the first indication that there's something very wrong about their surroundings, and you can see the group's mental state deteriorating as the music becomes more and more obnoxious. To be honest, at the half-way point, I was actually beginning to feel quite hostile myself. It was a very effective way to illustrate to the audience, a descent into madness. Just as it fades, you think it may be over, or at the very least the group will find the source, but it kicks back in to an even higher gear. On paper, that may sound a tad gimmicky, but in execution, it flawlessly delivers the filmmaker's desired effect.
One factor that will split audiences is the lack of proper closure. Without spoiling too much, chances are if you have questions late into the film, you'll continue to have them after. This worked for me, as I didn't feel insulted as a viewer. I don't enjoy having bits of backstory, and unneeded vocal explanations of what could or could not be happening. It feels unnatural in every film that attempts it. Much is left to viewer interpretation, and in my opinion, it couldn't have worked any other way. There are certainly some things that I would liked to have learned, but I'm okay in it remaining unknown.
One thing that bugged me, and a very major thing at that, was the finale of the film. It felt forced upon my first viewing, though I do plan on watching a second time to see if it has a different effect. To me, the last few frames of the film seem to almost cheapen previous happenings. It's weird, as it didn't actually tarnish the whole experience for me, but it did make me re-think my opinion previous to the scene. It seemed like an unnecessary last minute effort, to rope in the viewers that need some sort of entity to blame things on. I would liked to have been left with that strange feeling in the pit of my stomach that the idea of everything remaining completely unexplained created.
Despite my problems with the ending, I can still recommend YELLOWBRICKROAD with confidence. It reminds me of another one of my favorites of the year so far, Insidious. It had me all throughout the beginning, held my enjoyment through the middle, and then sort of dropped the ball right at the end. Like Insidious though, enough had happened up until that point to leave a lasting scar on my psyche. If it weren't for the questionable tactics near the end, I would say that YBR was near perfect. Even taking that problem into consideration, it's still solid, and managed to stick with me long after I had finished watching it.

The “Naked Solider” teaser trailer is here, ready and willing to give you the “sexy girls doing martial arts” fix you oh-so desperately crave. The film’s predecessor, Siu-Tung Ching’s 2002 actioner “Naked Weapon”, isn’t a stroke of genius by anyone’s standards, though it does feature quite a few nifty set pieces featuring the lovely Maggie Q. That alone gets it a few cool points, all of which are immediately deducted for that hideously cheesy rape sequence. “Naked Solider”, while Maggie-less, looks like it’s going to be an absolute blast. With Corey Yuen handling the action duties, it better be.

News About Movie “The Art of Getting By”: Elizabeth Reaser says watching Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart shoot Edward and Bella’s wedding scene in ‘Breaking Dawn’ was intense — and it felt like real life!
Bella Swan and Edward Cullen’s wedding is one of the most anticipated film scenes of the year. Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Esme Cullen, dished about the coveted moment, saying Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were so believable as bride and groom, they made the rest of the cast emotional!
“Seeing Kristen walk down with aisle with Billy Burke. I mean, seeing Billy Burke killed me,” Elizabeth told MTV News at “The Art of Getting By” screening. “I understood in that moment what it’s like to be a parent and seeing Kristen and see her really be nervous and see Rob really, really be nervous, and the two of them the families coming together; it was an emotional day for real.”
Not only were emotions running high during the shoot, but so were the stress levels.
Elizabeth explained, “Well, the wedding scene was like a real wedding, in that it was stressful. It took a lot of planning, a lot of organization. That was stuff we were all dealing with [and it was like] you were planning a real wedding.”
She added, “And the nerves … I mean, there was an added element of nervousness when we were shooting it, maybe because there were helicopters and people jumping out of trees with cameras, but it was definitely a heightened couple of days on set. It took several days to shoot, and at a certain point you don’t want to be in a corset anymore.”
Despite the paparazzi surrounding the set, Elizabeth said the special moment was indescribable.
She explained, “But it was really magical, and vampires aren’t supposed to cry, and that created a real obstacle for all of us vampires.”

Moscow, June 2 : Former Russian spy Anna Chapman, who was detained for espionage and deported from the US, has been appointed editor-in-chief of a "small" newspaper in Russia.
In a statement published on the website of the Venture Business News newspaper, Chapman promised to "significantly increase" the circulation and improve multimedia and overall content of the newspaper.
"I've become the chief editor. It's a small newspaper," Chapman said, admitting she has no plans yet about her future job.
As editor-in-chief, Chapman will be in charge of a new column "Field News" that would discuss major events in the venture and investment business in Russia and abroad.
The former spy said she would like to head the newspaper to "promote a positive image of young entrepreneurs, innovators, and technological business managers".
Chapman and 10 other Russians were arrested in the US in June 2010 on suspicion of espionage. In July, they were sent back to Russia in exchange for four men accused by Moscow of spying for foreign intelligence services in Russia.
Chapman had earlier become an advisor for Fondservicebank President Alexander Volovnik. She also joined the Public Council of Young Guard youth movement of the United Russia party.

The show's producer - XIX Entertainment - also produces "American Idol".
Singers, dancers and musicians have been invited to submit audition videos via YouTube.
The public can also nominate contestants on the programme's Facebook page.
"It is with great pride that we embark on this amazing and very personal mission to discover and celebrate the most captivating talent the world has ever seen," Lopez and Anthony said.
The couple will visit small towns in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Venezuela, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Bolivia, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Paraguay, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico, Panama, Uruguay, Aruba as well as the US.

New york, June 1 : It has emerged that The ‘Jersey Shore’ star Snooki is likely to have her driver’s licence suspended for a minimum of 15 days after crashing into a police car at Florence in Italy.
“The Italian law states that if a person is injured in an accident, then the other person deemed to have caused the accident loses their license,” the New York Daily News quoted Mario Rondinelli, a police spokesman as telling the Daily Mail.
“It will be for a minimum of 15 days although the Florence police chief has the ultimate decision on the length of time, and he will look at the file over the next few days,” Rondinelli added.
Snooki, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, was taken into custody after striking the back of the police vehicle, which was intended to escort her through the city, sending two officers to hospital.
Even though the reality TV star was not formally arrested, she would face the consequences of the accident. (ANI)

A living testimony to the travesty of being a woman in the strife-torn nation is Eman al Obeidy, the lady who had accused Gaddafi's security forces of gang raping her.
al Obeidy, who had fled Libya has now been forced back to the country by Qatari authorities.
According to reports, authorities in the Gulf Arab nation, forcibly took her along with her parents, shoved them in to a military plane that left Qatar on early Jun 2 and landed in the Libyan rebel-held city of Benghazi.
al Obeidy has been reported as saying that she was beat and handcuffed by the Qatari authorities before being forcibly pushed in to the plane.
According to CNN, officials of the United Nations Human Rights commission have informed that the Qataris deported her despite repeated requests from UN High Commissioner for Refugees and anonymous third parties.
Bill Frelick, refugee program director at Human Rights Watch has been quoted as saying, "Forcibly returning a refugee who survived gang rape not only violates international law, but is cruel and could trigger further trauma. All eyes are now on the authorities in eastern Libya, who should allow al Obeidy to leave the country."
Al Obeidy shook the world attention on March 26 when she barged into the Rixos Hotel in Tripoli, Libya while international journalists staying there were having their breakfast. She told to the reporters that she had been taken from a checkpoint east of the Libyan capital and was held forcibly for two days while being continuously beaten and raped by 15 men of Gaddafi's security forces.
She later fled Libya to Tunisia with the help of two rebel Gaddafi army officers and their families. French diplomats drove her from the border and handed her off to members of the Transitional National Council, who arranged for her flight to Qatar with her family members. She was in the gulf Arab state, awaiting resettlement as a refugee before she was deported by the country's authorities.
Bollywood Movie Ready 2011 Review Cast and Crew Trailer
Story: Film Ready, directed by Anees Bazmee is a remake of a Telugu hit of the same name. The film stars Salman Khan and Asin in the lead roles. Ready belongs to the genre of commercial cinema, loved by the movie goers. However, there is a piece of suggestion, Ready is not a film for people who are looking for meaningful cinema. It is film which is full of masala, humour, love, peppy music and of course superstar Salman Khan.
Prem Kapoor (Salman Khan) lives with his father (Mahesh Manjrekar) and two uncles (Manoj Joshi, Manoj Pahwa). Sanjana Singh (Asin) is an orphan who comes to India to stay with her mamas (uncles) Sharat Saxena and Akhilendra Mishra who are greedy and want to takeover her property. Prem falls in love with Sanjana and decides to teach her mamas a lesson. The mamas plan to marry Sanjana to their respective brothers-in-law, so that they get her property. How Prem fools everybody and rescues Sanjana from the mess, is what follows in the story.
Plus Points: The film comes as a fresh breath for the film goers after a long list of serious cinemas. There is not much to think about the plot as it is definitely behind times, but the peppiness that Salman adds to the love story by his power packed performance is totally paisa wasool and entertaining.
Ready brings back the dream world cinemas, where there is a hero and a heroine, they falling in love and that is the world for them. The dialogues are superb and delivered with the correct expression. You will enjoy the film if you want to get out of that meaningful cinema mode and watch something entertaining.
Bazmee successfully packs loads of entertainment in Ready that you hardly find any chance to get bored in the two hours of journey. Music is full-on feel good types. The action is good.
Loopholes: The screenplay fails to grip the attention in the first hour of the film. There are a few scenes that make no sense. These above things could have been avoided if the writing was absolute. At places writing is old-fashioned and outdated.
Performance: Salman Khan spreads his superstar acting in the film with his soulful performance. Asin is convincing inspite of her ill looks and not at ease at some places. Paresh Rawal is excellent and as usual compliments finely with Salman's comic timing. Sudesh Lehri was solid and exceptional. Akhilendra Mishra, Mahesh Manjrekar, Anooradha Patel and Sharat Saxena are good. Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Kangna, Zarine Khan, Chunky Pandey and Arbaaz Khan have done great cameos.
Over All: Ready is strictly for masses and Salman makes films strictly for them. Looking for a masala flick? Ready is the best choice for the weekend to chill out and refresh your mind.
