Oh! My God 2 Korean movie Synopsis:
As heir to Korea's biggest taxi company, playboy Im Jung Hwan spends money like water and stirs up trouble in droves. Life is totally great for Jung Hwan until his mother (Kim Hyung Ja) suddenly cracks down and takes away his money. What's more, she orders him to start driving a taxi to earn his keep!
Jung Hwan, who's never worked a day in his life, can only comply, but he keeps angering his customers and even tries to put up his taxi as collateral for a loan. When Jung Hwan's first passenger, Eun Ji, runs off without paying, it marks the fateful beginning of a bickering romance between the poor girl and the down-on-luck heir in disguise. But it's only a matter of time before Jung Hwan's old ways come creeping back!

Oh! My God 2 Korean movie Reviews:
With the original “Oh! My God” having been a surprise box office smash, a sequel was always going to be a distinct possibility. Now, viewers can get another comic dose of lovable rogue Im Jung Hwan as the follow up arrives, with director Kim Jung Woo having handed the reigns to newcomer Hwang Seung Jae. Needless to say, the film sees the return of top funny man Choi Sung Kook, who has risen to the top of his game thanks to roles in other popular comedies including “Sex is Zero” and “Master Kims”. This time, his romantic interest is played by the gorgeous Lee Young Eun (also “Summer Whispers”), who proves a suitable foil in another tale of daft schemes and amiable nonsense.
This time around the film starts with Im Jung Hwan (Choi Sung Kook) having a fine old time and living it up as the heir to a huge taxi company. Unfortunately, his mother (Kim Hyung Ja) gets fed up with his lazy ways, and forces him to drive one of the taxis in order to keep his inheritance. This doesn’t sit well with the work-shy Jung Hwan, who proceeds to annoy his customers and spend most of his time sleeping in his car. Things change when he meets a young woman called Eun Ji (Lee Young Eun), who runs off without paying, only to return the next day looking for her lost ring. After the inevitable bickering dies down, romance starts to blossom, giving rise to the question as to whether Jung Hwan really is a changed man, or whether he will return to his old scoundrel ways.

“Oh! My God 2” is a very straightforward and clearly structured film, being broken down into three acts of comedy, romance and melodrama. The first part of the film, which basically follows Jung Hwan through a series of wacky adventures as a taxi driver, is the strongest, bouncing through an array of amusingly random set pieces, including his being tricked into going back to the flat of a gay customer to supposedly watch a film with him and other such foolishness.V

Choi Sung Kook is one of Korea’s funniest comic talents, and he is on fine form here in a great role, with his roguish playboy ways and rampant materialism making for lots of laughs. Thanks to his charismatic performance, Jung Hwan emerges as a likeable protagonist, despite the fact that he is incredibly selfish, and as such his romance with Eun Ji works surprisingly well. The second act of the film does see the film quite literally head off in a different direction, as for no real reason the couple go on the road, leading to plenty of scenic shots as they go to the beach, go fishing in the countryside and generally have a pleasant time together. Lee Young Eun is cute and spritely, thankfully without being too much of a “My Sassy Girl” clone, and the film remains engaging as she attempts to turn Jung Hwan from a spoiled brat into a man.
The film does fall down somewhat during its last half hour, after a left-field plot twist sends it into much more melodramatic territory, complete with mawkish sentiment and countless shots of characters staring off into the distance. Although the viewer does care about the characters, mainly thanks to the leads rather than any real depth, this is all quite awkward, and director Hwang doesn’t quite manage to pull off the change in tone. Wisely, he has the good sense to still throw in a few gags revolving around the supporting cast, and whilst some of these are tangential to say the least they do help to carry the film through to its conclusion.
To be honest, this sudden dive into heavy handed emotion is pretty much par for the course with Korean cinema
, and shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Certainly, “Oh! My God 2” is no worse an offender than most of its peers, and for the most part makes for bright and breezy entertainment. Genuinely amusing in places and benefitting from a pair of likeable leads, it makes for well-meaning, undemanding fun.

Country:France
Release Date:27 January 2010

Le baltringue The Film Story:

L'or à l'appel ?

The Film Sriker Story:
Set in a Mumbai ghetto in the mid ’80’s and based on true life accounts, Striker is a story of triumph of human spirit over indomitable odds.
Born into a poor family, Surya grows up with few luxuries. Poor health keeps him away from school often and that is when his elder brother, Chandrakant, introduces him to carrom.
Quite similar to pool in its concept, carrom is common among people from middle and lower income groups all over India. Precision and skill are vital to playing the game well; attitude and confidence are crucial to win. The underground carrom scene has been breeding hustlers and gamblers for many years.
Winning the Junior Carrom Championship at 12 is not enough to keep Surya’s fire for the sport burning through adolescence. Hopes for a job in Dubai, replaces the passion forcarrom as Surya grows into a young man.
Duped by a bogus overseas employment agency, Surya loses all his hard earned money he had saved for going to Dubai. Surya is forced to cross paths with Jaleel.
Since the 70’s when the settlements in the ghetto began, Jaleel had acquired a strong hold in the area. He had his hands in every illicit activity since then. Feeding on the weaknesses of people, Jaleel was the self-proclaimed king of Malwani.
Reintroduced to Carrom by his childhood friend Zaid, this time to the hustling scene, Surya starts playing again. Being gypped of his hand earnedmoney by the same man who had caused misery for many families; Surya decides to take on Jaleel on his turf.
His patience and cool attitude are Surya’s biggest strengths. But life has ways of testing even the strong.
Striker is not a film about good versus evil. It is the story of a friendship, life in the city of dreams in the 80’s, a story of a game that is most common but non-existent. A story of a Carrom player who grows up on the fringes of a criminal existence but does not succumb to it.

The Film Striker Previews:
Striker has 8 songs with 8 different composers. The album boasts of talent like Vishal Bhardwaj, Blaaze, Amit Trivedi and Gulzar, among others. Actor Siddharth is the producer of the album and has sung too. The lyrics are tongue-in-cheek and insightful. So, be prepared for some eclectic variety. Striker has something for everyone. Cham Cham is easily an instant favourite, while the other songs might take a while to grow on you. But Striker is a ‘soundtrack’ in every sense of the word and an album for keeps. You will want to listen to it several times over. It is something people will talk about after seeing the film. All the songs capture the spirit and diverse facets of Bombay.

The Film Story & Previews:
Jeff is an ordinary guy that is stuck at a dead end job with a boring life, but when a strange old man gives him an Ancient relic and tells him that he is the last bloodline of H.P. Lovecraft, He and his friend Charlie embark on an adventure to protect the relic piece from falling into the hands of the Starspawn and his minions that wish to reunite the relic and releaseCthulhu back into the world.
The Great Old Ones Are coming. They are fishy. They are ruthless. They are hungry. And they very definitely are not just a figment of horror icon H.P.Lovecraft's imagination.
When the ancient cult of prehistoric god Cthulu discover an ancient artifact buried in the sands of Egypt it could very well spark the end of humanity. Should the cult succeed in combining their artifact with one guarded byan ancient secret society devoted to fighting the followers of Cthulu ... well, let's just say the end would come swift and painful.
Humanity's only hope? Jeff. The socially awkward office worker may be completely unaware that he is the last living descendant of H.P.Lovecraft but that simple fact means that he alone is immune to the powers of Cthulu and the Great Old Ones and that he alone can succeed in protecting the artifact from Cthulu's horrific undersea minions. Now Jeff - accompanied only by his comic-obsessed co-worker Charlie,Lovecraft-obsessed high school classmate Paul, and the mysterious Captain Olaf are the only ones who can prevent humanity's total destruction.
Writer-producer-star Devin McGinn - he plays Charlie - and director Henry Saine have created here a loving ode to both B-grade monster cinema in general and the works of H.P. Lovecraft in particular. The Last Lovecraft is a knowingly goofy ride into the world of horror comedy where the creatures - and there are lots of 'em - play for laughs and scares in equal measure. Though many of the gags hit for chuckles more than deep laughs the overall tone of the picture is so slapdash charming that it's impossible not to enjoy the ride.

Creature fans will be greatly pleased by McGinn and Saine's latex creations - some of which are played purely for the silly factor, some of which are legitimately creepy, and some of which manage to be both simultaneously. Though it falls more on the comedy side than on the horrific that is not to say that they are shy about laying on the blood when need be and the whole blend is anchored by the surprisingly believable relationship between the social misfit trio at the core of the film.
The Slamdance festival - where this premiered today - was the launching point of Canadian creature feature throwback Jack Brooks Monster Slayer a couple years ago and that film seems a fair comparison. While Brooks may have had a bit more polish to itLovecraft has more heart by far.
