An FIR has been lodged against bollywood actress Tulip Joshi in Kerala for cheating. The producers of bollywood film Dam999 have registered a cheating case against her. They have alleged that she took advance payment of Rs. 8.5 lakhs to act in the film but did not honour the contract.

Tulip Joshi, however denied the allegation and said " I had fallen ill and even mail the number of doctor so they could cross-check. I was waiting for the production house to call back for shooting, but I found later that they had replaced me with another actress. I had blocked the dated for the film because of which I lost out on other assignments and money"

The director the film Sohay roy said, "We have lost Rs. 50 lakhs because of Joshi. We don't know how the distributors will react to a new actress" . Line producer of the film, Vinod Unnithan said they had singed Tulip Joshi for Rs. 14 lakhs and paid her Rs. 8.5 lakhs as advance. After two days of shooting, she wanted to go to Delhi and promised to come back. We booked her tickets but we got a call from her saying that she was not well. She asked us to postpone the shoot, which we did. Later, she alleged that her role was not good enough and didn't want continue with the project. We replaced her with Megha Burman, a new comer.

Unnithan said, " I even visited the flat at Pali Hill, where she had signed the contract, but she wasn't there. Her friend threatened us that he had connection in high places and would shut down our production house."

Joshi refuted these allegations. Her friend, Vinod Nair, too denied the charges. "Unnithan walked into my house and demanded Rs. 1 crore from Tulip. I have nothing to with her career, nor am I married to her. He told me that the producers of the film were from Dubai and they would ruin her career. I asked him to leave." Vinod Nair said.

A day after her public appearance, Tamil actor Ranjitha has launched a scathing attack on those whom she alleges attempted to tarnish her name. In an exclusive interview with DNA, she said she would not sit quiet until justice was done. She said she was traumatised by the events of the past eight months that had led to much misunderstanding among her fans and devotees of Nithyananda.

How will you see this issue out?
I was shooting for a Malayalam movie when the so-called sleaze video clippings were released by TV channels. Soon after the shoot, I went to the USA and many of my friends and well-wishers asked me not to return to India because they feared for my safety. But now that I am back I will not sit quiet until I get justice and bring the issue to its logical end. Now that I am back I will fight against all those people who tried to tarnish my name, as well as [Swami] Nithyananda’s.

How did all this start?
I met Lenin Karuppan on February 13 for the first time. This was the time he started blackmailing and threatening me. He told me he had some photos and videos of me that might harm my reputation. He regularly started calling me on my mobile and threatened that he would release the videos and photos.

He demanded a ransom of Rs60 crore initially. Later his agent, Sridhar, who claims to be a lawyer, approached [Swami] Nithyananda and his disciples. The demand was then brought down to Rs20 crore.

Four others soon joined them in the ransom demand. Initially, I did not expect it would take such a serious turn and I did not even bother about them. I did not even complain to the police as I was busy completing my film.

How did it all snowball?
On March 2, I was shocked when the videotapes were released to TV channels. I immediately contacted my family and lawyers to discuss the issue, but they pacified me stating that there was nothing incriminating in the videos. Before Lenin released the video CD, he, along with other bigwigs, threatened me that I would be involved in serious criminal cases.

Do you still feel threatened?
Yes. I am still under threat from these quarters. As for the names of these people, I have already given them to the court. Now I am planning to get private security for my safety as I have lost faith in the government, which did not come to my rescue.

Do you still feel abandoned?
Yes. I still feel there is nobody to support me. But I was forced to come out in public as I wanted to silence those who were piling up accusations against me. I have gathered courage to fight all misconceptions and tirades against me. Thankfully, I have a set of good lawyers who are working towards getting me justice.

Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is fuming over Elle magazine cover ''skin-whitening'' scandal, reveal her pals.

Fans of the actress were left stunned last week after her skin appeared to have been digitally lightened on the cover of the magazine’s new issue.

According to friends, the 37-year-old Bollywood star, who is widely believed to be the world's most beautiful woman, is said to be considering suing the Indian version of the title over what has been deemed ''racist airbrushing''.

The actress herself has not commented on the situation, but friends of the ‘Bride and Prejudice’ star have said she is ''furious''.

“Aishwarya's first reaction was disbelief,” the Daily Mail quoted one of herpal as saying.

“She believed that these things don't happen anymore. Not in this day and age when women are recognised for their merit, and not for the colour of their skin.

“She is currently verifying this skin-whitening allegation. If there is any proof of this, she might even take action,” the pal said.

“She is clearly the global face of the contemporary Indian woman. The last thing she'd want is to have a global image coloured by a racial suggestion,” another pal added.

Neither Elle magazine or Mrs Bachan were available for comment today.

The actress, a former Miss World who is married to fellow actor Abhishek Bachchan, is thought to be too preoccupied by her father, who is ill, to look into the matter further.

Are you kidding? The letter 'R' kept recurring in 2010. The biggest letdown of the year Raavan and one of the biggest hits of the year Raajneeti shared the 'R' factor. No doubt Ranbir Kapoor was the star of the year while Rahman, the maestro from Chennai lost some of his sheen with unpardonable delays and mediocre scores like Raavan and Jhootha Hi Sahi.

The biggest chartbuster of the year came from the low profile Lalit Pandit whose 'Munni Badnaam Hui' instantly joined the ranks of the ritziest item songs in Bollywood, on a par with 'Kajra Re' and 'Beedi Jalai Le'. It also catapulted the sizzling Malaika Arora to dizzying heights of glory. Malaika will now dance only for her husband producer Arbaaz Khan's films and will of course endorse the brand of balm that the song so seductively talks about.

Brand endorsement and Bollywood became inextricably bonded in 2010. When stars were not shooting feature films (and many of the leading ladies were not) they were shooting ads. And when they weren't shooting ads they were shooting their mouths off to the media. Otherwise there were always the stage performances.

Besides AR Rahman's World Tour, there were no major world-concert tours from Bollywood in 2010. 2011 will see Ranbir Kapoor take off for his first ever live performance all over the world.

If A-lister stars were not heading to the stage they took off for television. Priyanka Chopra displayed some delectable derring-do on Fear Factor. The Big B and Salman Khan decided to helm Kaun Banega Crorepati and Bigg Boss, respectively. Akshay Kumar opted to do a cookery show The Master Chef which sadly did not turn out to be finger-licking good.

In 2010, Ranbir lent his cool clout quotient to Prakash Jha's blockbuster political drama Raajneeti. Later during the year came the unexpected clanger Anjaana Anjaani which boasted of the virgin Ranbir-Priyanka pair (Maybe the fault lay with the word Anjaana. No films with that title Anjaana, Do Anjaane, Anjaan Rahein has ever done well).

Audiences preferred the tried and tested Ranbir-Katrina jodi. That real-life jodis don't work on screen was again proven this year with the debacle of Raavan bringing the hot-and-coveted real-life jodi of Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

The back-to-back success and failure, respectively, of Raajneeti and Raavan within two weeks of one another came as a shock to the film industry. What exactly does the audience want? Stars they love? Then how do we explain the abysmally low opening of Mani Shankar's and Rahul Dholakia's Sanjay Dutt starrer Knock Out and Lamhaa?

The turn-out of newcomers was shockingly sub-standard in 2010. Barring an Anaitha Nair in Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein and an Aditya Roy Kapoor in Action Replayy and Guzaarish, there was not a single new face audiences could take home to Mom…or Dad.

Salman Khan, who introduced the Katrina Kaif lookalike Zarine Khan earlier during the year in the box-office fiasco Veer, did a much better job of introducing Sonakshi Sinha in the year's smash hit Dabangg. Sonakshi was undoubtedly the discovery of the year.

In a year cluttered with monstrous debacles like Anurag Basu's pricey Kites and Mani Ratnam's dicey Raavan, Dabangg was the face-saver. Producer Arbaaz Khan is still counting the profits. The film propelled Salman ahead of the other Khan superstars for a while.

Another Khan, Imran had a hit in debutant director Punit Malhotra's I Hate LUV Storys, which was also Sonam Kapoor's career's first bonafide success. Later during the year her home production Aisha was pretty thanda and not so cool-cool. The director Rajshri Ojha was pretty much lost in the film's designer babble.

There were some significant debutant directors this year. Vikram Motwane blew our mind with his coming-of-age saga Udaan. Siddharth Malhotra managed an impossible casting coup in his directorial debut We Are Family when he brought together Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. Abhishek Chaubey fashioned an unusual drama of sex, jealousy, murder and adultery with Ishqiya set in the cow belt. Without glamorous trappings Ishqiya was a sleeper hit about rural India and its fetish for infidelity. Later during the year debutant director Anusha Rizvi's Peepli (LIVE) too did well enough for us to assume that rural India was back on the Bollywood map.

Period films as a genre suffered a setback with Veer and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey failing to draw in the crowds. By year- end it was clear that the disappointments at the box office far outweighed the triumphs.

Meanwhile Sanjay Dutt and Nandita Das, who once starred together in a film called Pitaah, became proud parents. Sanju and his wife Manyata were blessed with twins while Nandita and her business man hubby Subodh Maskara were blessed with a baby boy.

Vivek Oberoi tied the knot in what he called an arranged-cum-love-zyada marriage. Vivek had two films to his credit this year new director Kookie Gulati's Prince and veteran Ram Gopal Varma's Rakht Charitra. By year-end, the star system was again at low ebb. But myopic producers continued to pay them unheard-of prices.

Except Aamir Khan, no other actor Bollywood can seduce audiences into theatres. So why pay them in multi-crores?

Time to ask these questions all over again in 2011.

London (ANI): Michelle Williams has confessed that she’s ‘proud’ of her sex scene with Ryan Gosling in ‘Blue Valentine’. The movie was initially stamped with a restrictive NC-17 rating because of a graphic oral sex scene between the two stars.

The actress, who was shocked by the decision, said there was nothing ‘scandalous’ about the shoot, reports the Daily Express. “When we shot that scene, both Ryan and (director) Derek (Cianfrance) said to me, ‘If this bothers you when you see it in the movie, we'll take it out’,” she said.

“I thought, ‘I've never seen that before in a movie and I'm proud to be the first. Good on us for making that happen’. As the woman in the situation that was in question, I found absolutely nothing scandalous, tawdry or disgusting about it,” she added.

Film censors at the Motion Picture Association of America's Classification and Rating Administration later reversed the movie’s rating to an R after studio bosses challenged their original decision.

Katrina Kaif is planning to fly down to Dubai and bring in the New Year with her ex Salman Khan and his family.

Says a source, "Katrina has been seen bonding again with Salman and his family lately. She was spotted at Tees Maar Khan trial and then went to wish him before he left for Dubai to bring in his birthday with an entourage of forty friends and family members. The actor will return on the morning of December 31 to shoot Bigg Boss and will then fly back to welcome 2011 with his near and dear ones."

Secret visit.
It is learnt that Katrina would fly down tomorrow to be with the Khan-daan. "Salman's parents, Salim and Salma, Helen, brothers Arbaaz, Sohail, sisters Alvira and Arpita and their children are all in Dubai, though some friends have returned. Kat might even fly down with Salman tomorrow to Dubai depending on when she wraps up for her YRF film."

However, the actress wants to keep her visit secret, the source insists. Last year, she had apparently visited Ranbir Kapoor in New York while he was shooting for Anjaana Anjaani. "Katrina is keen to get back into the Khan family fold again but she doesn't want the media to know about it.

Last week, she was very upset when she had gone to wish Salman a day before his birthday (on Christmas) at his Bandra residence and photographers had caught her in the act. Right now, Katrina is still testing the waters with Salman."

However, the actress denies any plans of going to Dubai, "I am shooting Mere Brother Ki Dulhan with YRF till January 31. If weather permits, I may go to London for a day."

Peace?
While Shahrukh Khan and Karan Johar left for Dubai yesterday, Hrithik Roshan is already there with his family. The Khans, Johars and Roshans will party together and bring in New Year's there. The question on everybody's lips is that what if Salman and Shahrukh bump into each other in Dubai? Will there be a grand reconciliation?
