Con nueve de sus pasados éxitos entre ellos “Dueño de tí”, “Cosas del amor” y “Muchachita de ojos tristes”, y tres de sus temas inéditos, “Dueño de tí… Lo mejor de El Shaka”, como se llama el nuevo CD de Sergio Vega, hace eminente que el cantante mexicano norteño volverá a ocupar una vez más uno de los primeros lugares en el Billboard Latino.
“Hola, ¿cómo has estado?”, nos dice Sergio en entrevista telefónica desde Sonora, México. Después de saludarlo, le explico que acabo de recibir su CD y que la variedad en los ritmos de sus temas me inducen a preguntarle ¿cómo describe la música en su grabación? “Norteña”, dice.
“Porque soy un hombre norteño y la está cantando un norteño”, agrega sonriendo. “Pero también es ‘bravía’. En el CD canto música romántica, pero me sale el rancho, me sale lo bravío, me sale el monte. Yo soy un hombre ranchero, cien por ciento”.
¿Qué significa bravía?
“Una música recia, la música de un magista, de un hombre que es recio. Yo soy hombre recio”, agrega poniendo énfasis en voz. “Que está impuesto a tratar con mulas. Las mujeres que se me atrancan, son mi vida.
El problema es que mi vieja (su esposa) no me deja andar con mujeres”, dice riéndose. Sergio describe su nuevo CD producido por Sony &BMG como una recopilación de sus grabaciones anteriores. Uno de sus tres temas inéditos es “Muchacha”.
Que nos canta la parte que dice “Ya no me critiques porque ando con otra, si sabes cuanto te quiero. No sé mi amorcito porque habré nacido con alma de aventurero. Puedo tener mil amores, pero contigo me quedo”, agregando en tono de broma. “Un consuelo para mi mujer ¿verdad?, el tema es ideal para los hombres mujeriegos porque es romántico y al final dice ‘me quedo contigo, tu fuiste la elegida’.
A mí me gusta cantarle canciones bonitas a la mujer, con temas como que no se vaya, que no me deje, que me siga pegando. Soy masoquista”, dice con una sonrisa. Sus canciones son escritas por varios compositores.
Sergio recibe de l00 a 150 discos por mes. “Se me hace padre”, nos dice. “Que estoy en un pueblo trabajando y siempre llegan una o dos personas a llevarme discos. A veces es un poco molesto, porque estás cansado, pero si me dan un disco, lo recibo”. Los que le gustan, los canta y los graba.
¿Por qué escogió el estilo norteño?
“El estilo sale al paso de los años”, dice. “Después que uno ha grabado 4 ó 5 discos empieza a salir algo que te identifica”. Originario de un poblado situado a 25 kilómetros de la Ciudad Obregón, Sonora.
Sergio Vega vive con su familia en una finca (rancho), y sólo sale a grabar sus discos. Alcanzó su popularidad en l996, tocando con sus hermanos en México y Estados Unidos en un conjunto con el nombre de “Los Shakas del Norte”.
Sergio se identifica con “El Shaka”, que fue un rey Zulu africano al que nadie logró vencer y murió de viejo. En el año 2000, el dinero y la fama, hicieron caer al cantante en las garras de las drogas y el alcohol.
Un día su presión arterial se le subió tanto que se le paró el corazón y clínicamente se murió. “Ví la luz blanca y también ví muchas flores, pero Dios me regresó”. Es como él describe el episodio. Al preguntarle si se siente confortable hablando de esa etapa dice: “Mi reina, esas son páginas del diario de la vida, que a mí me gusta abrirlas a cada rato porque es una parte triste, pero con los tropiezos se aprende.
Me enfermé de mi corazón y tuve que dejar de trabajar por dos años y medio, pero fue así como empezó mi contacto con Dios. Él me agarró como un potro que no tiene rienda y me sentó en la tierra caliente. Cuando empecé a rezar, Él me restableció”.
En el año 2004, su disco “Me gusta estar contigo”, logró ventas sin precedentes en Estados Unidos y México. “Dueño de tí” y “Cosas del Amor”, llegaron hasta lo más alto del Billboard Latino. Sergio Vega, tiene ahora una nueva oportunidad de alcanzar el primer lugar con “Dueño de tí… Lo mejor de El Shaka”, que lanzó el 26 de junio. Después de todo como él dice: La suya es una historia que va de la muerte al éxito.

Plot Summary: Thittakudi movie directed by Sundaran. A farmer from Thittakudi near Cuddalore, making his film debut. Ashwatha is paired opposite him. The story of Thittakudi revolves around the lives of construction workers and their struggles. At one side, we have movies that take Tamil cinema to the next league with world class potential and at the other, there are such movies that even describing them would make one cringe. Director Suntharan’s Thittakudi is one of those B graders simply made to add credit points to the director’s profile and to make the producer Siva Kogul Raj’s finances dwindle.
Thittakudi Tamil Movie Reviews : Thittakudi Set in the Thittakudi town, the movie follows the life of a waywardly young man (played by Ravi) who decides to take life in his hands in the absence of proper guidance. He makes merry, sleeps with every single willing woman, drinks and gambles and falls in love - or pretends to. And the poor girl (Asvatha) who falls for him loses her virginity, after which she is abandoned by him. The villagers’ attempt to bring the two together fails miserably and the girl gets married to another hopeless bloke. Now Ravi becomes destitute and seeks penance for having deserted the love of his life. It’s not only that the director has included many obnoxious scenes in the movie; in the name of twists he has packed it with malicious content. Although there was no justification for those scenes, the fact that he used such scenes makes a huge difference to the movie’s social standing. You don’t tend to remember any of the performances by the end of the movie, no matter how emotionally dramatic the scenes were. Mainly because Thittakudi has no heart in its right place and comes across as rather hollow. Director Suntharan probably wanted to give some sort of social message with his movie but the way he scripted the screenplay, the movie sounds more like a wannabe sensationalist. If loose morals that make people lose their minds and do pretty awful things do not count for sensationalism, what else will?

Rama Ravanan Film Story : Based on the novel 'Manomi' of Madhavikutty, Biju Ravindran is directing `Rama Ravanan'. The story takes place in two countries; in India and Sri Lanka. Annadurai was living with family in Srilanka. When the fight between the Tamilians and Sinhalese broke out, he fled to India with his family. There he lived in Tamilnadu-Kerala border. Nallavan Malayalam Movie Reviews : 'Nallavan' has already gained public attention with Jayasurya sporting four different looks for the film. The young actor plays Kocherukkan, a boy who was born and brought up in a village in Tamil Nadu. As a young man who is barely twenty years old, Jayasurya would be seen in the film sporting curly long hair.
In the second phase of his life, he returns from jail with his hair cropped. In the third avatar, he grows a beard and walrus moustache. And for certain very crucial scenes in the film, the actor had gone ahead and done the unthinkable; tonsured his head! In 'Nallavan', Manickyam Maithili plays Malli, Kocherukkan's childhood sweetheart. They work as servants in the houses of two big landlords of neighboring villages. Kocherukkan would arrive at night to see Malli and they would go for a second show at the village talkies. Their dreams are shattered when Kocherukkan gets involved in a crime and is sent to jail. 'Nallavan' is directed by Aji John, an editor with Amrita TV. Ajith Nambiar, a program producer with Amrita TV is the script writer. Besides Jayasurya and Maithili, the film also has a huge supporting cast with names as Saikumar, Shammi Thilakan, Suraj, Salimkumar, Maniyanpilla Raju, Sudheesh, Bijukuttan, Jayan, Vanitha Krishnachandran, Sona Nair, Prakash Paul, Kollam Ajith, Nash, Baby Jaisy, Baby Aparna and Master Siril.After the success of the film ‘Ivar Vivahitharayal’, Jayasuriya will appear in a leading role in the Malayalam movie Nallavan. Nallavan will be directed and Scripted by the debutante Aji John, a popular television director and editor. Nallavan will be chance for Jayasuriya to prove his capabilities as an actor. Nallavan will start shoot from February and it will be shot at Punaloor, Thenkasi and Madurail. Nallavan will also be planned to release in Tamil, as village based movies in Tamil like ‘Subramaniapuram’ and ‘Naadodikal’ are hits.
In Nallavan Jayasuriya will be doing three life stages of the central character of the movie named as Kocherukkan, a happy youth who lives an ordinary life in a quiet village somewhere in the border of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He is in love with Malli, who is ready to go to any extent to realize their love. Both of them are orphans, making a livelihood as servants in the house of two big landlords of the village. As everyone knows about their love and their impending marriage, they are the pets of all in the village. The colourful life of the Kocherukkan and Malli takes a sea change, as something drastic happens, when they are just into their married life. And Kocherukkan is thrown behind bars for crimes that he has never even thought to commit. Nallavan will be completed in three schedules. 'Nallavan' is being produced by Anil Mathew and S Murukan under the banner of Bethestha Productions.
