Movie Plot

The college entrance exam is just 200 days away, and as the top twenty students in school begin a cram course that will help them get prepared for the big test, an ominous development finds them fighting for their lives. In a school system where students are evaluated solely by their grade, the pressure to succeed is so great that mental breakdowns have become fairly common. All the studying has taken it’s toll on the weary students, and as they sit at their desks sleeping, the gentle refrains of “& Fue Elise” drift over the public address system. Suddenly, an image of top student Hye-yeong appears on the television screen.

She’s trapped in a water tank, and will soon die if nothing is done. When a voice prompts the students to decide Hye-yeong’s fate, the race is on to save her life. But who is Hye-yeong’s abductor, and what do they have in store for the rest of the students?

On the eve of the dreaded university entrance examinations, the lives of 24 of the smartest and brightest students at one high school, are on the line. Locked inside a classroom and nowhere to escape, a television monitor broadcasts a terrified Hae-yeong, the top student at the high school, tied up and seated on a chair inside an aquarium that slowly begins to fill with water. A voice from the monitor announces if the 24 cannot finish the exam administered within the allotted time given, Hae-yeong will die and so will everyone held captive inside the classroom. Thus begins the examination that will determine whether they live or die.- – AsianMediWiki

Review

A slacker wakes up to find himself weak, wrapped in webbing and cocooned to the wall of his office. After realizing that the world has been taken over by giant alien insects, he wakes a ragtag group of strangers and together they fight for survival.

The movie’s hero, Cooper, awakes to find himself nauseous, weak and covered in webbing, hanging from the ceiling of an office where, just minutes ago, he started his new job. As he struggles out of his slimy prison he comes face to face with his opponent – a grotesque, powerful and very angry bug – all 3 ft of it. He then begins his search to find a safe haven while constantly outwitting an infestation of monstrous proportions. As Cooper embarks on his journey, he befriends a ragtag group of survivors including Sara, a feisty attractive female. Although the situation is dire, Cooper can’t help himself from trying to solve his dating problem while trying to save his life.

And what other surprises are in store for our group of unlikely heroes?
I caught this movie late at night on the SyFy channel. I expected it to be a terrible CGI-fest (like most of the movies they show that I haven’t heard of before), but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s actually very well written; kind of a second-string Shaun of the Dead (so, in other words, better than most movies I’ve paid to see in theaters lately).

The plot is fairly unpredictable for this genre, meaning that it goes basically where everyone watching it wants it to go in the end, but it gets there in a way you won’t entirely see coming (I call BS on reviews that claim otherwise). But the real reasons to watch this movie are the genuinely witty writing and the subtle comic performances of the cast. The worst you could say about this movie is that it’s derivative of Shaun of the Dead. Personally, I’m totally okay with that.

Movie Story
Four volunteers sign up for what initially appears to be a typical paid research study, only to discover that they’ve unwittingly become involved with a classified government program that was said to have been terminated nearly two decades ago, in this tense psychological thriller from director Jonathan Liebesman. The allure of a little extra cash proving too powerful to resist, four strangers decide to partake in a paid research study. As the study gets underway, the group is presented with a series of questions, and given a finite window of time in which each individual member must submit a unique numerical answer. At first, the participants all assume that the subject who gives the most obviously incorrect answer will be removed from the experiment, though it doesn’t take long for the group to realize that the correct answer isn’t always the answer that the researchers are looking for. Meanwhile, as the brooding Dr. Phillips (Peter Stormare) attempts to manipulate the study to get the answers he wants, the newest member of his team, military psychologist Ms. Reilly (Chloe Sevigny) begins questioning the ethics of such a diabolical experiment.

This goes to one of the worst movies i have seen list.
Whole movie is shot in one room. Director seems impressed with saw series and tried to create similar one room kind of horror/thriller, but sorry to say it’s an awful story and end leaves a really bad taste in the mouth. I love saw series not to mention but this movie is nothing more than a low budget, cheaply done poor scripted movie!!!

I don’t think this movie even can make it to theater but if it did I feel sorry for the the people who paid the money to watch this horrible movie.

And on top of that director has a balls to let the viewers know that there will be part 2

Reviews :

I was completely honest with actress Michelle Monaghan yesterday when I told her, right at the beginning of a one-on-one interview, that I’d been waiting a long time to watch her come alive in a role. In her relatively short career, Monaghan has already racked up quite the resume — appearing in films like Mission Impossible III, Gone Baby Gone, The Bourne Supremacy, The Heartbreak Kid and the soon-to-be-released Made of Honor. She’s got a great, girl-next-door quality about her, but is she memorable? The good news here is that Monaghan finally delivered the sort of performance I’ve known was trapped somewhere inside her, hidden behind a variety of big, flashy Hollywood films. Make no mistake, this is her film. She owns it. But is that enough to convince you to see it?

In Trucker, she plays Diane, a female truck driver with one helluva edge — not to mention a knack for drinking lots of hard liquor and taking part in more than a few unhealthy one-night-stands. She’s a selfish woman with not many friends; she knows just what she needs to keep on truckin’, and she knows just how to get it. Thing is, you’ll never see her give anything back. These personality traits become a problem when Diane’s 11-year-old estranged son (Jimmy Bennett) shows up on her doorstep one day — brought by his soon-to-be stepmother (Joey Lauren Adams) when colon cancer forces the kid’s dad (Benjamin Bratt) into the hospital. These two, mother and son, don’t care for one another, nor are they interested in getting better acquainted. He needs a place to crash for three weeks, and she needs to find a way to let that happen.

REVIEWS

“Peter and Vandy” is a love story told out of order. Set in Manhattan, the story shifts back and forth in time, juxtaposing Peter and Vandy’s romantic beginnings with the twisted, manipulative, regular couple they become. The film explores the question most couples ask themselves… ‘How the hell did we get here?’ The answer is found in the little moments. Peter and Vandy communicate through truthful, every day dialogue. They begin with the hope of new love on the horizon, adoring the little quirks about each other. As they continue, the way they bicker while trying to order takeout and begin to criticize the smallest of gestures reveals more about them than “couples therapy” ever could. Through these iconic moments, we see just who they are… and it’s familiar. By going back and forth in time, we are able to pinpoint the subtle causes that lead to the larger effects within their relationship.
We see “Peter and Vandy” through everyday scenes in their life together. Trying to have sex… Meeting for the first time… Having dinner… Small, seemingly disconnected moments, but moments we all recognize. These moments are what we are comprised of. Ordering food. Picking a movie. In these moments we see who people really are.

As the film progresses, these moments begin to connect, revealing a larger story. It becomes a game, tying together the clues, figuring out how they came together… how they end up. It’s part of the fun, but ultimately their story is told out of sequence for a greater purpose. Imagine if you could go back in time and watch yourself falling in love. Imagine if you could watch your first date with your significant other and hear the exact words you were saying. Chances are those words would be a lot different than you remember… and a lot more revealing. People come together for very specific reasons, whether they realize it or not. By first seeing Peter and Vandy’s future, we can really understand what is happening in these “small moments” in the past.

“Peter and Vandy”, like a lot of couples, don’t always know why they stay together, or why they are the way they are. But because we see things out of sequence…We do.
