The duo combo Hari-Surya has already churned out some successful films ‘Aaru’ and ‘Vel’. Now, they are back in showbiz with yet another action-packed commercial entertainer titled ‘Singam’. Followed by his overpowering performance in ‘Kaaka Kaaka’, Surya performs the role of a cop with Anushka starring opposite him in female lead.


Here, we a hint for you to take a look over visuals. Almost all the frames have been slanted towards the side of Anushka to project Surya taller than her. According to the sources in shooting spots, Surya would actually wear high heels prior to Anushka’s arrival so as to look naturally taller.
Apart from Prakash Raj and Vivek, actors Manorama, Radha Ravi, Nasser, Sumithra, Janaki Subash, Yuvarani, Delhi Kumar, Nizhalgal Ravi, Adhitya, Ajay Rathnam, Besant Ravi, Crane Manohar, Bose Venkat, Nanda Saravanan, Manobala, Paandu, Thyagu and others have performed prominent roles.
This is a very special film for Surya as it’s his 25th flick in career and is produced by his uncle Gnyanavel Rajan. It’s worth mentioning that it’s Hari’s 10th film with almost all his films happening to be a success in box office.
But it’s really makes us wonder how come Devi Sri Prasad has been roped for scoring music. He has been loosing out more offers in Tamil and Telugu film industry due to his inconsistency to deliver good music. V.T. Vijayan handles editing with Priyan cranking the camera and K. Kathir is the art director.


The film’s shooting commenced in Chennai and had the following schedules in Nellai, Kuttralam, Thenkasi, Amba Samuthiram, Tuticorin, Thiruchendur, Karaikudi and other surrounding places. Apart from these locales, couple of songs choreographed by Brindha was shot in Dubai.

The film’s audio is reported to be launched by this month and film will hit screens by April. It’s confirmed news that Sun Pictures has acquired the rights over ‘Singam’, which is a good news for the entire team and especially producers.

Chalaki is a remake of a Malayalam movie Chocolate, about a lone young man joining a women's college, having his share of fun, going through the small pleasures in life, heartbreaks et al.
The film introduces Aditya Babu, the producer of Jagadam, Aarya 2 as the hero and retains Roma, as the lead actress from the original version. The film certified A drew in crowds for the sheer concept of having a male studying in a women's college and one expected a lot of vulgarity but the story though a decent one suffers from more than one flaw.
The producer cum actor who had already worked as a hero in a Kannada film in which he was reasonably okay had chosen a complicated plot in Aarya 2 and managed to whip up a convincing success at the BO, his Jagadam though a dud is still remembered for passionately and compulsively following a single theme. But sadly when it came to him, Aditya falters in choosing the best for himself, the result is an aural and a visual assault on the audiences.
The film could have ended in one hour flat but that has been extended, dragged mercilessly. The first half of the film starts off cheekily, well-paced but after that it is just a plain bore with a script that makes less sense, appears uncooked. The editing is poor.


Aditya does well in emotional scenes but there is a lot to be desired in his dances or expressions. He has an ideal physicality but he is good only in parts and wears wooden expression most of the time. The film designed for the B and C audiences might give them the trivial thrills but might not keep the multiplex audience hooked to their seats. The movie also doesn't appear slick, and even performances from veterans like Ahuti Prasad, Brahmanandam are clichéd and low-key. The film is a disappointment.

Behind the Movie Awara: Hero Karthi fresh from the success of ‘Yuganiki Okkadu’ is a killer performer joined hands with action director Lingusamy known for movies like Run and Pandem Kodi in Telugu. Milk babe Tamanna riding too high in Tamil sky is the awesome beauty of this ‘Awara’ package with music from Yuvan Shankar Raja. Let us see, what did this ‘Awara’ the Tamil dubbed ‘Paiyaa’ did in Telugu?


In the Movie Awara: Shiva (Karthi) is a care less guy (the Awara) living in Bangalore with group of friends (Sonia of ‘Happy Days’ fame and few more Tamil artists) is on job trials. During one such occasion when Shiva is to attend an interview, he finds Charulatha (Tamanna) from a bus and instantly falls in love.
Next time Shiva is in railway station to pick up a friend, tensed Charulatha along with her uncle mistake Shiva as a taxi driver and hire him to Nellore trip. At a petrol bunk when Charulatha’s uncle is away from car, she pressures Shiva to get rid of him and change the route to leave her in Mumbai. Shiva agrees for it, start journey to Mumbai and the story slowly gets to unfold.
Charulatha whose parents are dead is forced by rowdy uncle to marry a guy whom she doesn’t like. Charulatha escapes to Mumbai to meet her grandmother. On the other hand, Shiva has a flash back where in he is involved in a nasty war with Mumbai local goon Baali (Milind Soman). For now hero and heroine are chased by these two groups in this journey. Both Shiva and Charulatha have a liking for each other but doesn’t open up their heart
.

Finally when Charulatha is left at her grandmother’s place and Shiva starts back to Bangalore depressed for not winning his love, the climax episodes begin. Both the groups again attack them as the strong ‘Awara’ Shiva finishes every body in this climax fight. Soon Shiva’s friends from Bangalore land in Mumbai and open their friend’s feelings for Charulatha. Has Charulatha accepted Shiva? is the final episode of ‘Awara.’
Values of the Movie Awara: Lingusamy never takes up laborious stories, he believes in strong and action narration. May it be ‘Run or Pandem Kodi,’ you feel an incredible punch in the movie which is totally missed in ‘Awara.’ His story is thinner than wafer and script was very weak. Direction wise, there are few interesting action episodes and two well picturized songs but nothing more. Dialogues by Shashank Vennalakanti are just okay. Music by Yuvan Shankar Raja was good for two songs and background score. Madi’s Cinematography was wonderful in songs and some intelligent and new camera angles were seen in action episodes. Editing by Antony was sharp only in second half.

In Canvas, each scene drags on for what seems infinity without any purpose. The trouble is that it underscores the obvious too often, while the narrative remains as skimpy as ever.
Kalabhavan Mani plays Manaf Hussain, a painter - cum - dramatist who is busy directing his new play. Assisting him is the super talented Ramu (Kannan) who even painfully acts out every scene to the actors. And there is none other than the busy star of Bollywood, Madhuri (Vidya) who has found inspiration in their play, and who has agreed to be a part of it.
With this as the basic setting, the film goes on to tell something for about two hours that hardly correlate with each other. This is why the film soon drops into a dead zone and remains there for its entire running time.
The story that Manaf decides to adapt for the stage is that of Yayathi's, the celebrated king of the Lunar dynasty who falls in love with both Devayani and Sharmishta. A major part of the film is spent discussing the relevance of the story and how it could serve as a metaphor for the modern times.
This film could perhaps have made its points much more believable if its creators hadn't deliberately tried to emphasize and explain at length every one of those small points. The dwelling on the Puranic story is a bit too much indeed, with Yayathi and Sharmishta going on and on about the mystery called life.


There are unjoined ends galore in the film. Take a look at a bunch of villains for instance. A group of four men who keep shouting at the top of their voices as to how the story of Yayathi would spell doom on their political careers if depicted on stage. So they decide to put an end to the story and the story writer.
Madhuri has the customary guardian; some lady who had saved her from the Red Street and had helped her build a career in films. Pressurized by the demands of Akka, Madhuri has found solace in being Sharmishta. As Manaf takes up Madhuri's protection, Akka retreats in defeat, but warns that the most powerful man who 'owns' Madhuri would turn up.

Bal Hanuman 2 film comes with a double blast of action and excitement with even more dangerous and powerful demons to vanquish. Full of action adventure and at the same time innocent and full of joyful pranks by the little lord, the film has everything that a kid would want to see.
The film is about how Bal Hanuman goes about vanquishing conniving demons that appear in the form of vultures, elephants and crocodiles to create disturbance on the earth. At the same time since being a kid, he does not know the value and strength of his powers and tends to over use them at times. How the little lord learns that he should not misuse his powers when the Rishi muni curses him and how he gathers knowledge of the entire universe from the Sun Lord forms the rest part of the movie.
With kids as its sole targets, the film doesn’t bother with much of a plot. Director Pankaj Sharma who had earlier given us animated versions of Bal Ganesh and Bal Ganesh 2, this time comes with new exciting adventures of baby Hanuman in his childhood days. This is the first 3D animated version but director Pankaj Sharma has done a very commendable job. He has put the 3D effects to good use by giving the little hero a lot of flying and jumping and leaping to do, and keeping things on the move. The 3D effects come literally alive and you end up dodging spears, and closing your eyes when a bird flaps right near your face or stones are hurled by the little god in his attempt to save the earth from conniving demons.
Sanjay Dhakan’s music goes with fun mood of the film.
The voices given to the animated characters especially to Bal Hanuman are very cute.
It is a perfect gateway for your kids to spend few hours of their summer holidays.

The Story : Kola Kolaya Mundhirika film is about wealthy man delegates a trusted subordinate to hide priceless diamonds in a set of chairs before he is murdered by a trio of criminals out to get their hands on the same.

Twenty years later, the hunt for the chair resurfaces as the trusted subordinate reveals partial information about the treasure to the protagonist, Krish (Karthik Kumar). Realizing that he needs a little help, Krish enlists the help of his thieving rival, Veni (Shikha).

The villainous trio, also privy to this information, follow Krish and Veni as they set out to find the diamonds. A hilarious cat and mouse chase ensues as the main characters follow clues, traveling from city to city, assuming different personalities to find the chair with the diamonds, while being chased by the quirky, nosy police inspector Mathrubhootham (Jayaram). With Crazy Mohan's typical brand of pun-filled humor, director Madhumita guarantees a fast-paced, laugh-a-minute ride with KKM.

The Story : Magane En Marumagane film is about how parents should bring up the children and how children should take care of the parents. Mithun plays Nassar son and comedian Vivek plays his son-in-law. It’s about the conflicts between Mithun and Vivek.

Alas! How long will these filmmakers keep boiling the same stuff over and over again? Perhaps, you would have to walk out of theatres yelling it. We have watched several films based on issues pertaining to middle class families. Of course, there have been certain amenities that these cohorts could experience after watching these flicks. But, this time T.P. Gajendran spills out the clichéd ingredients that lack substantiality.
On the whole, it’s not a film meant for multiplex audiences and may click amongst the groups in suburban areas and touring talkies in villages.
The film revolves around a good-for-nothing guy Challenge Singaram (Vivek), who is pining away with gambling addiction. His childhood sweetheart Ponnarasi (Yamini Sharma) always remains as apple of his eyes and somehow manages to marry her after convincing parents (Nasser and Saranya). Her younger brother Raghu (Mithun) gets infuriated over Singaram’s fraudulent act of stealing his mobile, which leads to a split of the joint family. There is yet another shock awaited for Singaram as he gets framed for the murder he didn’t commit.


Being released from prison, Singaram vows to revive himself and finds a right way to set things rights. Set on an aspirational journey, he makes it big in real estate business thereby becoming rich. On his return to village, he finds that his in-laws are missing and their lives have been pathetic now. What follows next is a series of flashback sequences that reveals the reason behind their pathetic situation.
The film doesn’t boast off anything special as T.P. Gajendran comes up with a hackneyed script. The characterizations are so stereotyped that it makes you annoyed after a certain extent. Mithun looks so spiritless and he badly needs to go through a crash course in acting. He fails to emote with realness during certain sequences that would have gained him appreciations. Yamini Sharma does justice to her role while Vivek steals the show with his comedy tracks. But it would have been better if Vivek had avoided uttering double-entendres
