FOR REAL SYNOPSIS:
For Real is a drama based movie in which,Shruti believes her mother has been replaced by an alien from the Orion galaxy. She turns to her brother (Shriharsh Sharma) for help, but he doesn't believe her. Her father as always is so wrapped up in his work that he remains unavailable to her. Unable to bear the absence of her real mother Shruti decides to set out and get her real mother back.
This is an intense movie dealing with the impact of seemingly trivial family tiffs on the tender psychology of a child. It portrays the world from the standpoint of a little child and shows how children perceive various things in life.
For Real Review:
Many times we get so occupied with our work, friends and other commitments that we don't have time for our own family. Without our knowledge, this causes a rift between our family members and us. It sometimes takes a film to make one realise this fact and FOR REAL is one such film.
It beautifully tackles familial issues with maturity. It brings to light the complications faced by a family through the eyes of a little child and does that poignantly. FOR REAL is intriguing, heart wrenching and above all, it makes you pause and think.
Debutante director Sona Jain narrates a sensitive story with lot of heart. She maturely describes the insightful story which is very real and relatable. She doesn't veer into the territory of getting preachy, yet conveys her message with precision.
FOR REAL is about a six-year-old girl Shruti, (Zoya Hassan) who thinks an alien has replaced her mother Priya (Sarita Choudhury) and her mother has gone to the Orion Galaxy. Her brother Paras (Sriharsh Sharma) propels her belief. Shruti's father Ravi (Adil Hussain) is too busy with work to pay her attention. Priya's strange and morose behaviour doesn't help at all. Her belief that an alien has replaced her mom is so strong that she refuses to eat home food, thinking it has been poisoned by the alien.
Dr. Deepak Choudhury (Sameer Dharmadhikari) is called to resolve Shruti's trauma. Will she get her 'real' mother back and will things get back to normal is what the film is about.

Michael Jackson's mother sues concert promoters
Updated at: 1349 PST, Thursday, September 16, 2010
LOS ANGELES: Late pop icon Michael Jackson's mother has filed suit against promoters of a concert series he was supposed to give in London in 2009, claiming they shared the blame for his death during rehearsals.
Katherine Jackson filed the suit in Los Angeles Superior Court in her name and those of the singer's three children. The suit is for an unspecified amount in damages.
She charged that the AEG group did not give her son appropriate medical care during rehearsals for the shows, and alleged negligence in allowing Dr. Conrad Murray to care exclusively for her son.
A Los Angeles judge has set a January 2011 hearing to weigh whether there is sufficient evidence to prosecute Murray for involuntary manslaughter over the singer's death.
The 57-year-old doctor, who was with Jackson when he died June 25, 2009, was charged with involuntary manslaughter in February this year, but is free on a 75,000 dollar bond.
Officials have ruled that Jackson died after being injected with a powerful cocktail of sedatives and painkillers, including propofol, which the singer regularly requested from Murray to help him sleep.
Jackson's death sent shockwaves around the world, and family and fans were outraged to learn that the man dubbed the King of Pop was administered a dangerous mix of powerful prescription drugs in the hours before his death.
Murray, who was born in Grenada and grew up in Trinidad before moving to the United States, has denied the charges against him, which were filed after a painstaking seven-month probe involving local and federal investigators.

Freida Pinto to star opposite Antonio Banderas
Updated at: 0929 PST, Thursday, September 16, 2010
MUMBAI: Freida Pinto has signed a Hollywood period film opposite Spanish actor Antonio Banderas.
Titled Black Thirst, the film is directed by Jean-Jacques Annaud of Enemy at the Gates and Seven Years in Tibet fame. It is the story of how America, in pursuit of oil, started targeting the Gulf as early as 1920.
The film that stars Tahar Rahim (of A Prophet fame) and Mark Strong is to be shot in Tunisia. Pinto plays an Arabian princess and is paired opposite Rahim, but she has a lot many scenes with Banderas.
The film is based on Hans R Ruesch's globally-acclaimed work South of the Heart: A Novel of Modern Arabia published in 1957.
The story is set in 1929 when an affluent Arab prince falls in love with a princess but his marital bliss is shortlived as tension and duty to protect his country after oil is discovered in the Gulf befalls on him.
The film is Pinto's sixth straight international film after Rise of the Apes, Immortals, Miral, You Will Meet a Tall, Dark Stranger and Slumdog Millionaire.

Salman, Katrina to work together again

MUMBAI: This will be one much awaited event. Salman Khan will be acting with Katrina Kaif again. Contrary to the rumours that Salman and Katrina Kaif can’t stand each other and won’t work together after their much talked-about break-up, they will be paired opposite each other in Salman’s sister’s first production venture.
The film is the remake of the south super hit Bodyguard and is expected to go on the floors soon.
Our source said, “After working with Arbaaz Khan in Dabangg, Salman will now star in a film that is being produced by his sister Alvira, who is married to Atul Agnihotri.
Salman had earlier worked with Atul in Dil Ne Jise Apna Kaha and Hello. Now, the big-hearted Salman is helping Atul as he has bought the rights of the south hit Bodyguard.
Salman will play the title role and Katrina, who is extremely close to Alvira, will be the female lead in the film.”
The source further said, “There have been rumours that all was not well between Salman and Katrina. Although they are no longer dating each other, they continue to be cordial and friendly.
Salman had no objection in working with her especially since it’s his sister’s debut venture as a producer.”
The film goes on the floors in December.

Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart will wrestle with the death of a child in "Rabbit Hole," directed by John Cameron Mitchell.
Star-studded films vie for attention in Toronto
Updated at: 1115 PST, Friday, September 17, 2010
TORONTO: Get ready for a high-stakes, star-packed game of musical chairs as the 35th Toronto International Film Festival gets under way Thursday.
During the next 10 days, several dozen movies -- many boasting marquee names in unexpected roles -- will be unveiled with hopes that after all the attendant music dies down, they'll find themselves in the arms of an enthusiastic domestic distributor and not be left abandoned on the sidelines.
Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart will wrestle with the death of a child in "Rabbit Hole," directed by John Cameron Mitchell. "The Conspirator," directed by Robert Redford, will offer James McAvoy as a reluctant attorney defending a woman (Robin Wright) accused of involvement in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.
Oscar-winning "Milk" screenwriter Dustin Lance Black will make his directorial debut with "What's Wrong About Virginia," in which Jennifer Connelly stars as a mentally ill mother. Christopher Plummer and Ewan McGregor will share the screen as father and son in Mike Mills' "Beginners" -- the surprise being that Plummer's character, rather late in life, is coming out of the closet.
In a change of pace, Will Ferrell will star in Dan Rush's "Everything Must Go," playing a man who resorts to staging a yard sale as his life falls apart around him. And Mickey Rourke, whose "The Wrestler" was the talk of the 2008 fest, will slip into the skin of another damaged soul, this time a down-on-his-luck trumpeter in Mitch Glazer's "Passion Play."
And that's only a sampling of the high-profile projects that will be competing for attention. But will buyers respond in kind?
Last year, with just a few exceptions -- like the Weinstein Co.'s decision to snap up "A Single Man" just hours after its Toronto debut -- no buying frenzy ever really developed. And though prospects this year appear more upbeat, there are enough question marks hovering over a number of distribution companies for even the most eager sellers to strike a cautious note.
The established players in the field are arriving at the festival with dance cards that already are fairly full.
Fox Searchlight, for example, will show off a fall lineup that includes Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan," Danny Boyle's survival story "127 Hours" and the Hilary Swank starrer "Conviction," directed by Tony Goldwyn.
Focus will unveil the psycho-ward comedy "It's Kind of a Funny Story," starring Emma Roberts and Zach Galifianakis, and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.
And Sony Pictures Classics will tub-thumb several titles first seen at Cannes (Mike Leigh's "Another Year," Stephen Frears' "Tamara Drewe" and Charles Ferguson's "Inside Job") while introducing new titles like the distaff labor tale "Made in Dagenham," directed by Nigel Cole.
Buyers expect Focus and Searchlight to be very selective about any purchases. Sony Classics, though, is likely to be a much more active buyer, along with IFC Films and Magnolia Pictures, all of which left Cannes with multiple films.
"We're bringing some great films," Sony Classics co-head Michael Barker said, "but there's always room for one more."
With hundreds of titles on tap, it's nearly impossible to generalize about this year's offerings. Actors including David Schwimmer with the seriously dramatic "Trust" and Casey Affleck with the offbeat Joaquin Phoenix documentary "I'm Still Here" will test their skills behind the camera.
Kelly Reichardt already has earned appreciative notices in Venice for "Meek's Cutoff," set on the Oregon Trail during the 1840s; Abe Sylvia is conducting a femme-centric road trip in "Dirty Girl," starring Juno Temple; Keanu Reeves stars in Malcolm Venville's comedy "Henry's Crime"; Guillaume Canet has assembled a cast of French beauties for "Little White Lies"; music rules in David M. Rosenthal's "Janie Jones," starring Abigail Breslin; Max Winkler follows a wedding crasher in "Ceremony"; Rainn Wilson dons a superhero costume in James Gunn's "Super"; and Larysa Kondracki tackles sex trafficking in "The Whistleblower."

Resident Evil snatches box office lead
Updated at: 1549 PST, Friday, September 17, 2010
LOS ANGELES: Sony's "Resident Evil: Afterlife" snatched the top of the North American box office this weekend with 26.7 million dollars in ticket sales, according to latest figures.
The fourth in a long-running science fiction series, the film stars Milla Jovovich as a new age warrior fighting to protect humans from a world led by zombies.
"Resident Evil" films are based on a video game of the same name from Japan's Capcom. The latest film was directed by Paul Anderson, who also directed the original 2002 feature.
Jumping one spot into second place was "Takers." The bank-robbery thriller starring Hayden Christensen, Idris Elba and singers Chris Brown and T.I. earned 5.7 million dollars in its third week of release, bringing its overall take to 47.7 million dollars, said industry tracker Exhibitor Relations.
George Clooney's spy flick "The American" fell from its top spot to land in third place with earnings of 5.7 million dollars.
Mixing violence with a campy tribute to 1970s exploitation movies from directors Robert Rodriguez and Ethan Maniquis, "Machete" came in fourth with 4.3 million dollars from Friday to Sunday, or 20.9 million since its release.
Holding steady at number five was new release "Going the Distance," a romantic comedy starring Drew Barrymore and Justin Long about a couple living on opposite US coasts who try to make their relationship work. It earned 3.8 million dollars in its second weekend.
"The Other Guys," the latest Will Ferrell slapstick comedy, climbed up one spot to sixth place, taking in 3.3 million dollars for its story about two mismatched police officers paired on a high-profile crime investigation.
Seventh place went to the gruesome documentary-style horror movie "The Last Exorcism," which fell from its fourth spot last weekend, taking 3.3 million dollars, or 38 million since its release.
The mockumentary, directed by Daniel Stamm and co-produced by Eli Roth, a director known for his bloody thrillers, follows a disillusioned minister supposedly filming his last exorcism for a documentary.
Falling to eighth place was "The Expendables," Sylvester Stallone's film about a group of weathered mercenaries out to topple a South American dictator, which earned 3.2 million dollars in its fifth week in theaters.
"Eat, Pray, Love," Ryan Murphy's adaptation of Elizabeth Gilbert's novel about a divorcee's jaunt to Italy, Indonesia and India, starring Julia Roberts, took ninth position with 2.9 million dollars.
Rounding out the top 10 was blockbuster "Inception" starring Leonardo DiCaprio as an expert infiltrator of people's dreams, which took in 2.8 million, or 282 million since its release.

France has more to offer the silver screen than the Eiffel Tower: that is the message being sold to a dozen Hollywood writers.
Forget the Eiffel Tower, France tells Hollywood
Updated at: 0918 PST, Thursday, September 16, 2010
PARIS: France has more to offer the silver screen than the Eiffel Tower: that is the message being sold to a dozen Hollywood writers invited this month to sample the delights of provincial French living.
Organised by Film France, a state-financed body that works to attract international film projects, the tour is the third of its kind, dubbed "France -- Unlimited Access" and lasting a week from September 19.
Stuart Beattie who scripted the blockbuster "Pirates of the Caribbean"; John Brancato, screenwriter of "The Game"; Peter Buchman who is behind the recent "Che" opus; and "Terminator" writer Michael Ferris are among those enrolled this year.
From the Loire Valley, the writers will be whisked to the eastern Lorraine region, where the city of Metz boasts a heart of historic winding streets -- potential setting for a street chase or romance scene in a future blockbuster.
"The more scripts there are circulating in Hollywood that feature France, the more chance there is that films will be shot here," said Film France's managing director Patrick Lamassoure.
Last year France brought in a 20 percent tax rebate for foreign features and television productions, to match a similar scheme in Britain and other European countries that made them more attractive locations than France.
Directors like Woody Allen and Martin Scorsese are already returning to Paris thanks to the tax breaks, and the capital just had an important cinematic outing with the Paris-set sci-fi blockbuster "Inception".
A major US production translates into 250,000 euros of local spending per day -- 1.5 to 2.0 million euros per week, half of it in jobs.
But not just anyone gets invited onto the French scheme, whose overt aim, says Lamassoure's deputy Franck Priot, is to catch a big fish.
"Everyone in Hollywood is writing a script: the hard part is getting it read and produced. Those who come here have all already made a film that grossed 150 to 200 million dollars.
"These people have a lot of options -- so we need to get them excited, and to offer them something that corresponds to their needs."
"We have to feed their imagination," said Priot. "And suggest situations and landscapes that let the viewer know we are in France -- wherever he is in the world, not just in the United States but in Guatemala or India since these are films that are going to reach tens of millions of people."
Once a film character steps off the plane in Paris, they need to be fed with quirky situations.
The 2008 batch of screenwriters spent a day with a Michelin-starred chef, visited the giant wholesale market at Rungis and met a former top French police boss, before heading south to the Mediterranean port of Marseille.
The following year Film France took the writers to French Polynesia.
"This time, we are going to take them to see a real princess in her chateau on the banks of the Loire," said Priot.
"She will tell them about what it's like to own and maintain such a building in 2010, we will spend a day at the grape harvest and we'll visit the massive shipyards in Saint-Nazaire."
Film France is giving itself three years to measure the financial impact of the scheme, which cost an estimated 100,000 euros, said its chairman, producer Nicolas Traube, roughly the time it takes for a Hollywood project to get off the ground.
But according to Priot, a script set in Marseille is already doing the rounds.
"It is too soon to give the name of the project -- but it was clearly fed by the atmosphere from the Marseille trip."

Sir Paul McCartney to relaunch Wings album
Friday, September 17, 2010, 16:59 [IST]
London, (ANI): Sir Paul McCartney is set to release a new version of the hit Wings album ‘Band On The Run’. The musician has worked with the team, which overhauled the Beatles's recordings last year to remaster the 1973 release for November.
It forms part of a programme of releases, which will cover his solo years and work with Wings. Sir Paul is to release the albums through Concord Music Group after leaving EMI, which originally released almost all his albums - as well as the 1998 reissue of Band On The Run, reports the Telegraph.
The November 1 release of the album - seen as a high-water mark of his post-Beatles years, featuring songs
such as Jet and the title track - will feature lavish packaging. One format will include an extra CD with more tracks plus a bonus DVD, while a four-disc version features a 120-page hardback book with unpublished photos.
The album will also be released as a download. It is the first from the Paul McCartney Archive Collection, which will be drawn from 40 years of recordings.

Zee TV's show ‘Chhoti Bahu’ has just a few more days in hand before it goes off-air;
Chhoti Bahu to end with a positivity

Zee TV's show ‘Chhoti Bahu’ has just a few more days in hand before it goes off-air; the show will be replaced by ‘Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo’ at the 7:30 PM slot, whereas the coveted slot of 9:30 PM will be taken by Zee TV’s new offering ‘Ram Milayee Jodi’. As is customary with all shows wrapping up, Chhoti Bahu is expected to have a happy ending. But before the show calls it quits, there is one last twist for the viewers to enjoy.
With the entry of Imarti, Radhika's twin sister (both roles played by Rubina Dilaik), not only the show, but also the cast and crew of Chhoti Bahu are feeling a renewed energy around them.
“The show had become monotonous with Dev (Avinash Sachdev) and Radhika’s track and even the unit members were getting bored shooting the same track day in and day out for such a long time. But now with the introduction of Imarti, who is exactly opposite to Radhika, the atmosphere on the set has suddenly become a lot more vibrant," a source told us.
We called Rubina to ask her about her two roles and she said, "Even I am feeling good playing Imarti. She is completely different from Radhika. It is always good to essay such wacky characters in the same show. But sometimes it becomes hectic with the change I have to do in the same day. I have to shoot for two different characters at the same time with the change in costumes and role. But that's fine because even I was getting bored playing Radhika for so long.”
She further rues, "It feels bad that just when the audience is getting something new to appreciate about the show, it's going off air. But... that's life. We have to move on."

Ajay-Kajol name their son Yug

By Raymond Ronamai
Ajay Devgn and Kajol have named their new born son Yug. It is taken from Sanskrit word Yug, meaning ‘life’ or ‘being’. It also means ‘eternity’ or ‘era’.
Kajol gave birth to a baby boy on September 13. The couple has a seven-year-old daughter named Nysa, named after the goddess of beauty in Greek mythology.
It is reported that Kajol has stored her umbilical cord blood and cord tissue with a Chennai-based 'cord blood bank' Life Cell International.
Umbilical cord blood is a source of primitive, undifferentiated stem cells (of type CD34-positive and CD38-negative). These cord blood cells can be used in treating various diseases like leukaemia, lymphoma, blood cancer and bone marrow disorders. Cord tissue contains mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which create structural and connective tissue
. It can treat injuries including spinal cord, stroke, and cartilage damage.

Dabangg 2 finalized, Sonu Sood to play double role
Thursday, September 16, 2010, 16:22 [IST]

After All The Best, Golmaal, and Partner, say hello to another serialized franchise. Yeah! The film Dabangg's sequel is on for sure now. It was on the cards from even before the release of Dabangg when the film’s team had sensed the oncoming mass appeal of the ruralised hero Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan). Producer Arbaaz Khan, who is at the moment laughing all the way to the bank, said, “Yes a sequel is definitely on the cards. And why just a sequel? The film and the main character has the potential to be carried forward through various channels.”
On Saturday evening, at an Eid party at Salman’s Bandra residence, attended by the Khan family and the Dabangg team- members (and for some inexplicable reason Aftab Shivdasani) the decision to go ahead with Dabangg 2 was locked in. Super-charged by the roaring welcome given by audiences to Dabangg he suggested during the Eid party that the sequel should be done sooner than later.
Details were immediately discussed. And Abhinav Kashyap who will again direct, has been briefed on how the story goes forward. According to a source, the core cast of Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha and Sonu Sood will remain unchanged. But the plot will now move away from the UP hinterland into a large city, probably Mumbai.
Sonu Sood who plays the small town goon-politician will play a double role in the sequel. Sood’s character Chedi Singh will now have twin brother. Confirming these developments Sonu Sood says, “Salman was the most charged person at his Eid party. We were all in a mood to celebrate. When Salman suggested we do the sequel, we started discussing it very seriously. I can’t reveal too many details at the moment. But yes my character, Chedi Singh, will have a twin brother in the sequel.”
Apparently Salman was kicked by the idea of a sequel even while the first part was being shot. During the shooting of a wedding sequence in Dabangg he loudly announced a sequel to the entire cast. While other cast and crew details are yet to be finalized, Dabangg 2 will roll at year end. And yes, it will have another item song on par with Malaika Arora’s Munni badnaam hui.

The ‘Ocean's Eleven’ star's rep had earlier spoke out to deny engagement reports last month after the Italian model was snapped showing off a piece of jewellery, insisting she had been playing around with a napkin ring.

New York (ANI): Stand up comedian Chelsea Handler’s sex tape is set for a possible release. The sex tape, which Handler, 35, said she made 10 years ago as a joke, begins as a demo of her stand-up routine before transitioning to a 15-second homemade sex tape and then back to the comedy routine.
“Several people came forward with copies of the video since its existence became known last May. A deal is very close to being made,” the New York Post quoted a source as telling Radaronline.com
Copies of the tape, which she sent to talent agents and managers, took long to surface, and the reason was put down to her work as a comedian. “I’m sure most people just threw them out because her stand-up was so bad,” a source added.

Although Sangeeta Bijlani has never been controversies favorite child but she has always been with controversial men.
Sangeeta Bijlani is currently married to superstar cricketer Mohd. Azharuddin. Azharuddin used to be the captain of the Indian Cricket team but he was dishonorably removed since the betting controversy. Recently Azharuddin was linked to the Badminton player Jwala Gutta. Sangeeta Bijlani also shares a connection with the host of Bigg Boss 4. Well, you can never forget that Sangeeta used to date Salman Khan at one point of time.
The rumor mills also suggest that the creators are also in talks with Ashmit Patel (the actor who was involved in MMS sex scandal). Nothing has been confirmed yet so we cannot be sure if Sangeeta will be a part of the new reality show.

A decade and a half back when Suneel Darshan decided to become a producer, he roped in Sunny Deol for Ajay.
"I wish Akshay Kumar the best" - Suneel Darshan

A decade and a half back when Suneel Darshan decided to become a producer, he roped in Sunny Deol for Ajay. Post that, each of his subsequent films either featured a Deol or Akshay Kumar. However, after enjoying a near cent percent record and also gaining critical acclaim for films like Jaanwar and Ek Rishta - The Bond of Love, Suneel Darshan decided to take a break, with Shakalaka Boom Boom being his last release in 2007. Now that he has decided to come back in a big way with plans in progress for the launch of his son Shiv Darshan as a leading man, Suneel talks to this correspondent about the reasons behind his break, what went wrong with Akshay Kumar and Sunny Deol and how the entry of corporate houses rocked the economics of filmmaking.
Has Suneel Darshan turned to be one of the wisest producers in Bollywood who chose to lie low in the dull phase of Bollywood rather than make any random films?
I am a passionate filmmaker- the passion is visible in both the content and the conduct of my cinema. I have not been here only to enjoy its fruits but always wished to contribute, as per my ability, to the cause of cinema, its progress and survival. In the last few years, the corporatisation entered our avenues with their money-power and over-enthusiasm and in the process rocked the existing economics of filmmaking. Hence, a pause with an intention to play a longer game became inevitable.
Do you also feel that in the last three years, ever since you took a voluntary break, there were projects being made instead of films?
Oh yes! Their new mantra was all about numbers which could be either achieved or manipulated. The colossally expensive projects that were designed were essentially about star combinations and the stars actually got paid 10 to 20 times their earlier receipts. Some started demanding the whole cake rather than a slice of it! Resultantly the films flopped and some of these organizations realized their follies and regretted.
So when was it that you decided - 'Enough is enough, I would put a pause rather than follow this mad rush'?
I was committed to a time bound arrangement to make a film starring Sunny Deol in 2007-08. But the project did not move into execution of filming, as the lead actor didn't allot his committed dates. The distribution rights to the film were picked up by Gemini Studios for the highest price offered for a project featuring Sunny Deol, and both Gemini and I were disappointed to lose time and money on it. The project got stalled and left me in a lurch. I felt the need to pause, review and move thereafter.
That must have been truly disappointing...
Sunny Deol was an idol of my youth that I had elevated onto a pedestal and then it all crashed. Our differences are presently sub-judice.
You have been one of the few independent producers with a huge success rate. When most of the independent filmmakers got into alliances with corporate houses, why didn't you too follow the same?
A few days back, a leading publicity designer also put the same question to me and got me thinking. I actually chose a voluntary sabbatical thereafter to observe, analyse and replenish before striking back.
But then doesn't survival become the key? How did you manage to run your production house without any films on floor?
What I had established earlier at Shree Krishna International was a total film-shop with Production, Distribution, Export and Music marketing facilities and that kept the wheels rolling.
I guess media too has played an important role in playing a perception game when it comes to movies being made and released. Do you also feel so? And also, do you think that it is for good, bad or perhaps just the need of the situation?
When the media is playing the perception game for the entertainment industry, I guess they are just doing their job just as the perception they construct for the political lobby, the builders lobby and every possible avenue that can generate them revenues. What's important is to deliver within the parameters of responsible reporting.
Before you took a break, you were at the top of the game along with Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar when it came to overseas market. Don't you feel you have left that position far behind now due to an extended break?
Honestly, I could never compete in the overseas territory with Shahrukh Khan's stardom. Also, YRF and Karan consolidated their brands essentially with their Shahrukh Khan starrers. I was a distant country cousin, who established his brand despite working with lesser popular stars like Akshay Kumar and Bobby Deol.
Talking about Akshay, you once had a healthy association with him. Do you want to go on records for what went wrong?
Nothing in this world of opportunism lasts forever. What's important is that it should be beautiful as long as it lasts. I am very satisfied with the films that I made with Akshay Kumar. They gave us both success and respectability. I wish to remember these films and associations fondly and forget the bitterness attached. I wish Akshay Kumar the best always.
Now you are launching your son. What are the plans here?
He's Shiv.... - Shiv Darshan. The lad's graduated from the New York Film Academy and Broadway Dance Centre having excelled in both the institutions.
So are we looking at a quintessential masala launch here?
Sorry but I am not ashamed at or apologetic for having made films that have catered to the largest sections of the viewers. I do not believe in art or commercial cinema - for me, there are good and bad films. The ones that are accepted and receive ovation from the audience are good films. Shiv will get a launch with one such good film.

Finally, the Common Wealth Games theme song 'oh yaaro, yeh India bula liya' has reached to its expectations. Lyricist Prasoon Joshi has shortened and tightened the lyrics giving a peppy touch to the A. R. Rahman composition. The lyricist explained that Rahman always tries to improve his work and he has done the same to the theme song also. He says that Rahman has added more layers to the song and has given some folk touch to the number.”
The previous composition of A. R. Rahman failed to impress the sports lovers in India. The song faced a lot of criticism than appreciations. The sports minister M.S. Gill reveled the dissatisfaction of the Group Of Ministers for the theme song.
The music maestro A. R. Rahman unveiled the theme song on September 11. The song is both composed and sung by the Rahman. It took six months for Rahman to complete the number and he is paid Rs. 5 crores his composition.
But the launch of the song got postponed to the month of October because the GoM wanted Rahman to modify his composition by making it more peppy. We just hope that Rahman's improved version of the Common Wealth Theme song impresses the sports lovers in India.

Mark Chapman admitted he was hell bent on killing a celebrity when he gunned down the ex-Beatle outside his New York apartment block 30 years ago.
Elizabeth, Carson were also on Lennon killer's hit list
Friday, September 17, 2010, 12:41 [IST]
London (ANI): Despite other famous people like U.S. TV talk show host Johnny Carson and the actress Elizabeth Taylor on his hit-list, Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon because he was more accessible. Mark Chapman admitted he was hell bent on killing a celebrity when he gunned down the ex-Beatle outside his New York apartment block 30 years ago.
“I had a hit list of people and he was at the top of the list,” the Daily Mail quoted him as telling the parole hearing. “If it wasn’t Lennon it would have been someone else,” he added. The cold-blooded killer inisisted he had forgotten earlier claims that he also had another ex-Beatle, Paul McCartney and former First Lady Jackie Onassis in his sights.
Asked how he selected the names, he said: “They are famous – that was it. It wasn’t about them necessarily. It was just about me.” He said he killed Lennon because ‘he seemed more accessible'. “I found out what building he was at and went to that building. It wasn't quite as cloistered as some of the other people might have been.”
Chapman, 55 and in his 30th year in jail, made it clear that he was feeling suicidal - but used that rage to instead kill someone other than himself. Instead of taking my own life, I took somebody else's,” he admits, calling it 'unfortunate'. “I thought there was a chance might get shot. I wasn't really too concerned about that,” he added.
Chapman is next viable to request parole in 2012.
