Synopsis:
A man trapped in a car wreck at the bottom of a ravine must overcome incredible odds to survive.

Storyline:
A man awakens in a mangled car-wreck at the bottom of a steep cliff. Injured and trapped inside, with no memory of how he got there or who he is, he must rely on his most primal instincts to survive. But as he attempts to free himself from the carnage and escape an impossible situation, a darker side is revealed. Even if he manages to survive, the man may have to face the horrible consequences of an earlier, forgotten life.

Movie Info:
During a Q&A at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, the screenwriter (Dodd) revealed that he started writing the script as a "free-writing" experiment with no plan, no outline, and no idea of what was going to happen. On page one, when he realized that he didn't even know the identity of the main character, he put that idea into the script, too.

The writer also said that the story, for him, was a metaphor for trying to get a movie made. "I would not, could not, give up," he said.
The teaser poster for Wrecked, which shows Adrien Brody's face behind broken glass was inspired by the poster for Straw Dogs. The writer and director created the poster themselves using Adobe Photoshop. The film's distributors liked the poster so much, they used it as is.

The wrecked car had to be lowered into place using a helicopter. After filming was completed, a helicopter was again needed to remove the car from the mountainside.
The car was designed to come apart in sections in order to get all the camera angles and to allow for the placing of the camera within.

Adrien Brody performed all of the stunts himself including several takes of him being swept down river in near-freezing water.

The filmmakers held an informal contest among themselves to determine the most annoying song Adrien would hear on the car radio. Tiny Tim's version of "Tiptoe Through the Tulips" won, hands down.

More Info »
100 pounds overweight, loaded up on steroids and suffering from a debilitating autoimmune disease, Joe Cross is at the end of his rope. In the mirror he saw a 310lb man whose gut was bigger than a beach ball and a path laid out before him that wouldn’t end well— with one foot already in the grave, the other wasn’t far behind. Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead is an inspiring film that chronicles Joe’s personal mission to regain his health.

With doctors and conventional medicines unable to help long term, Joe turns to the only option left, the body’s ability to heal itself. He trades in the junk food and hits the road with juicer and generator in tow, vowing only to drink fresh fruit and vegetable juice for the next 60 days. Across 3,000 miles Joe has one goal in mind: To get off his pills and get healthy.

While talking to more than 500 Americans about food, health and longevity, it’s at a truck stop in Arizona where Joe meets a truck driver who suffers from the same rare condition. Phil Staples is morbidly obese weighing in at 429 lbs. He is a cheeseburger away from a heart attack. As Joe is recovering his health, Phil begins his own epic journey to get well.

What emerges is nothing short of amazing – an inspiring tale of healing and human connection. Part road trip, part self-help manifesto, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead defies the traditional documentary format to present an unconventional and uplifting story of two men from different worlds who each realize that the only person who can save them is themselves.

Movie Review:
He’s a likable bloke with a sensible message the masses could stand to hear. “Fat,” available via Video on Demand services starting April 1 as well as select theaters, veers into infomercial land a mite too often. Cross extols the virtues of fasting without really breaking down the consequences or letting any skeptics have their say. But there’s enough humanity between the juicings to make the movie a nutritious ride.
Cross, who co-directed the film, is staring down more than just an eating problem as the film opens. He suffers from a rare auto-immune disorder which could cut his life short if he continues eating to excess. So he takes drastic measures. He decides to go on a 60-day juice-only fast to lose weight and take some control over his life.

It works – and then some. He stops taking the myriad pills meant to keep him healthy and watches his body slim down in remarkable fashion. When he meets a heavyset American suffering from the same disorder, the two team up to prove the wonders of a juice diet.

“Fat” leans heavily on Cross’ no-nonsense persona and a smattering of sharply executed animated bits. He’s not the ruffled Everyman like Moore claims to be, and he’s far less of a jokester than Spurlock. He’s serious about his mission, but he’s also genial enough to make others open up about their own weight issues. Cross’ “man on the street” interviews feel precious at first, but when he bears down gently on his subjects some frank answers emerge about why so many people lug around so many excess pounds.

“I’m here for a few good years, and I’m gonna eat what I want,” one person tells Cross.

Cross and co. clearly support the juicing method for better health, and some sequences feel like contrived advertisements for the plan. But Cross doesn’t always sugarcoat its appeal. When a housewife goes on the juice fast for 10 days she admits the juice doesn’t taste very good a
The film’s heavy-handed message is blunted by its clarion call for personal responsibility, a reasonable antidote to any proselytizing going on.

“Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead” doesn’t tell us anything we don’t already know. Eat more fruits and vegetables and less processed foods. Start moving and stop the excuses. But by putting a human face on our eating woes it could change a few hearts, minds and stomachs.

The Last Godfather Synopsis:
It’s 1951, and there’ a mob war brewing between the Carini Family and the Bonfante family. But when Don Carini decides that his illegitimate Korean son Younggu is his intended heir to the throne, all hell breaks loose.

Movie Plot Summary:
Story follows a mafia boss who trains his mentally impaired son Younggu to be his successor. Shim will play the part of Younggu. This is a popular comedy character he created for TV during the 1980s.
Young-goo (Hyung-rae Sim) who is a son of mafia boss Don Carini (Harvey Keitel), is too foolish to be an elite. Someday, Young-goo come to his father, and begin to be in training by Tony V (Michael Rispoli) to be a successor of his father. A few days later, Young-goo accidentally deliver a lady out of danger, who is Nancy (Jocelin Donahue), an only daughter of Don Bonfante, the boss of the rivalry mafia family. But Vinnie (Jason Mewes), an under-boss of Bonfante family kidnapped her and fabricate that Young-goo had done. Vinnie's behavior provoke an armed conflict between two families.

Movie Review:
This movie will only have limited success because of Hyung-rae Shim's play on nationalism. He has used this tactic before with his movie D-war -- which I've heard is also terrible.

His tactic is simple: he tells Koreans that they must be proud of their country and the Korean film industry. Therefore, they must show pride in Korean movies. Therefore, they must watch Korean movies, regardless of their quality -- especially his movies.

The result: his terrible movies are watched by many Koreans and seen as a success for Korea in the world market. Further, Koreans who criticize Hyung-rae Shim's movies have been slandered continuously on the Internet.

I saw this movie as a test to see if it was as disgraceful as some have said... it was. Koreans need to realize that by supporting bad Korean movies, they are actually hurting the image of Korea worldwide, not improving it.

Movie Plot Summary::
Paul is an upcoming 2011 ensemble science fiction comedy film directed by Greg Mottola. Two British comic geeks (Pegg and Frost) go on a road trip through America. On the way, they discover an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) at Area 51

Movie Storyline:
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) reunite for the comedy adventure Paul as two sci-fi geeks whose pilgrimage takes them to America's UFO heartland. While there, they accidentally meet an alien who brings them on an insane road trip that alters their universe forever. For the past 60 years, an alien named Paul (voiced by Seth Rogen) has been hanging out at a top-secret military base. When he discovers he's been taken prisoner, the space-traveling smart ass decides to escape the compound and hop on the first vehicle out of town-a rented RV containing Earthlings Graeme Willy (Pegg) and Clive Gollings (Frost). Chased by federal agents and the fanatical father of a young woman that they accidentally kidnap, Graeme and Clive hatch a fumbling escape plan to return Paul to his mother ship. And as two nerds struggle to help, one little green man might just take his fellow outcasts from misfits to intergalactic heroes...

Movie Review:
This film was great!, exiting yet slightly predictable.
"Paul" begins with a nice, comforting family setting with a storyline which has been told for years but hasn't been filmed. Despite the story seeming generic and overdone, it was executed tastefully. The comedy is fresh and flows brilliantly, however you might not find that this is true if you aren't big fans of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. The addition of Seth Rogen was a sounds investment because his attitude as an actor and character adds to the films charm.

As the film progresses the comedy stays the same and the characters don't build up as much as you would have thought. This doesn't however reduce its value for a comedy film because the characters stand reasonably strong at the start and the comedy fits the personalities of the characters well. It stays on its toes and has a nice ironic feel to some of the conspiracies that Area 51 could hold.

I think this film stood ground well and had a surprisingly tasteful storyline. The inspirational material behind this film has been told for many years yet it took a while for any producer to utilise this well known concept.

It could have had a bit less of a "moral-ending" I feel because this type of film never really holds life advice well. Other than that, the film "Paul" is a great watch with friends and has charming yet obscene humour.

Paul is a very funny picture, but it doesn’t always chase the joke, which initially feels like a major tonal mistake. However, what the film lacks in bellylaughs it more than makes for in sheer geekery, with Mottola and the writers filling the frame with references galore, most centered on the cinema of Steven Spielberg. A few of the gags and lines are clunky, delivered self-consciously by the cast, but the majority of the picture creates a swirling sense of sci-fi devotion, conveyed with a heartfelt tone that makes “Paul” feel like an elaborate inside joke most audiences should be able to enjoy.

The references only add to the fun, making the feature a game of homages, which range from the obvious to the terrifyingly particular. You don’t have to be a student of sci-fi to get all the jokes, but Pegg and Frost script with a geek POV, creating a passion that helps to elevate the film when it tires of dick and fart jokes.

Paul works toward a combustible climax with various enemies out to nab the alien before he reaches his iconic rendezvous point, speeding toward an unexpected climax of confrontation, not overt comedic accentuation. Pegg and Frost have faith in their plot, and that dedication keeps the film engaging and unpredictable, even while it lovingly pilfers from some of the most famous sci-fi blockbusters around.

Movie Synopsis:
When a sexy, high-end escort holds the key evidence to a scandalous government cover-up, two bumbling young detectives become her unlikely protectors from a ruthless assassin hired to silence her.

Movie Plot Summary:
Anthony always dreamed of being a famous chef. Julian only thought about women. With neither really working out, the childhood best friends decide to start a detective agency. Unfortunately for them, on their first case they must help protect a sexy, high class escort who holds the key evidence to a scandalous cover up. The two bumbling detectives soon find themselves running from the mob, a corrupt US Senator, and a ruthless Mary Poppins-like assassin - all of whom would stop at nothing to hide the truth. It's just an average day for two bumbling losers.

This hilariously violent action-comedy stars Paz Vega (Spanglish), Janet McTeer (Tideland, Tumbleweeds), Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), Tony Curran (Gladiator, Underworld: Evolution) Scott Mechlowicz (EuroTrip), and DL Hughley. CAT RUN is directed by John Stockwell, written by Nick Ball and John Niven, and produced by Bill Perkins and Keith Perkins. CAT RUN will open in select theaters on Friday, April 1.

Reviewed by Andra Zadnik:
Before a recent screening of “Cat Run,” the producer came out and said, “All I ask is that if you hate it, really hate it.” With that kind of caveat, the audience prepared itself to hate everything about the film.

The premise is simple: High-end prostitute (Paz Vega) witnesses a massacre of her fellow sex workers and procures the evidence to indict several high-ranking government officials of various nations. Two goofy private investigators (Scott Mechlowicz and Alphonso McAuley), looking for their first job, try to find her while a highly effective hit man is also hot on her trail. One thing leads to another, and all hell breaks loose.

Contrary to expectations set by its filmmaker, this film is fun — a romp that should be approached with nothing other than the anticipation that you are going to have a good time screening it. Be warned: It is rather gratuitous — in every sense of the word — but amusing nonetheless. The storytelling is sloppy at times, introducing every character in a “Snatch.”-like sequence that mostly confuses things rather than make the storyline any clearer, but once the film reaches its stride, the narrative smooths out with a belly laugh or two and, eventually, a little heart. The editing is fast and furious, which assists in making the whole film feel over-the-top, which only adds to its over-all aura of a good time had by all.

Truly a film made by and for men, there are intense images of violence and sex, which could be too much for anyone squeamish. But the best part is the casting of the deadly hit man — or, rather, hit woman — who follows the trio all over Europe. Helen Bingham (Golden Globe-winning, classically trained British actress Janet McTeer) is the most kick-ass character in the entire movie. And she is a sixtysomething woman. Who saw that coming?

She is intelligent, abhors the sex industry — especially men who profit from it — and generally is willing to put her life on the line for her career. She is the modern working woman. Out of place except for her amazing assassin skills, she is by far the island of feminism in an otherwise ode to the 13-year-old male sense of humor. The film capitalizes on violence, sex and ridiculous jokes (there is a triple-amputee secretary) but still manages to create a character who completely annihilates both the targeted hits and any stereotypes that dictate that postmenopausal women are not “cool.”

While it does not push any social boundaries, other than how much violence one is willing to squirm through, “Cat Run” is a fun romp with heart and some semblance of social consciousness. Audiences will be entertained and, for about 15 minutes, think about social constructions and a woman’s role in them. All this despite the producer’s self-deprecating warning label.
