Japan today launched a rocket carrying a satellite intended to improve global positioning systems.

The H-IIA rocket blasted off at 8:17pm (local time) from the Tanegashima space centre in southern Japan, according to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

About 30 minutes after the launch, the rocket successfully released the “Michibiki” satellite, whose name means “showing the way”.

JAXA scientists hope the satellite will boost the accuracy and coverage of GPS, which is widely used in Japan by drivers.

Currently, radio waves from a satellite can be hampered by skyscrapers or mountains, and significant errors can be also caused by reflected waves, according to JAXA.

The Japanese space agency hoped to launch three such satellites, meaning that one of them would always be above Japan, but budgetary constraints have stalled plans for the second and third satellites, local media have said,

Most of the trolls of Azeroth are wild notorious for his extreme hatred of other races, but the Darkspear tribe and its leader, Vol’jin, are no exception. For many years, the Darkspear have been invaluable members of the Horde. Vol’jin, in particular, are known to offer strategic advice to Chief Thrall on a regular basis, and cunning troll played a role in retaking Undercity after was deposed by rebel forces and Varimathras Putress.

Nevertheless, for all the achievements of the tribe, Darkspears still suffering from the tragic history of emigration. Long ago, they were expelled from the mainland in Stranglethorn Vale stronger trolls Gurubashi Empire, and then settled on a desert island. Darkspears later found refuge with the Horde, when their island was destroyed by a mysterious sea witch, and Rab granted trolls new lands to the Echo Isles coastal deposits. Apart from a brief exodus, when the fleet Daelin Proudmoore arrives to hunt down the orcs, Darkspear enjoyed relative stability, until one of their own, Zalazane forced his brothers to their last home.

Znahar Zalazane was one of the leading mystical tribe trainers when he was inexplicably driven to madness powers under its control. Using dark magic, he enslaved many of their compatriots, and raised an army meaningless Darkspear. Fearing that his tribe would come under the power Zalazane, Vol’jin ordered to remain at liberty Darkspear to abandon the Echo Isles.

Darkspears Vol’jin settled in nearby Sen’jin Village, where they are still used as a staging point for attacks Zalazane. Over the years, members of the Horde looking to see if they should have, regardless of the Echo Isles to resist Zalazane, and many of them even returned, it would seem, victory with the severed head. These victories, however, was nothing more than an illusion created by dark magic twisted witch doctor. A few days after these trophies were taken to Sen’jin Village, they changed their true form: the painted rocks and coconuts decorated wooden tusks, or even heads of enslaved trolls Zalazane.

Despite these setbacks, and his obsession with Thrall Horde consulting on issues relating to Vol’jin spent a lot of time to develop a strategy to return the Echo Isles. Now he believes that the time to strike at Zalazane come. As the leader of the Darkspear and his closest allies and Vanira Champion Uru’zin await approval of their plans to the ancestral spirits, they began rounding up conscripts troll and reconnaissance missions to learn about the minions Zalazane.

But trolls are Vol’jin are enough forces, and enslaved Darkspears on the Echo Isles surpass them. Darkspears, well known for being among the brave fighters of Azeroth, but, fortunately, many non-trolls have expressed interest in assisting Vol’jin, perhaps hoping that the restoration of the Echo Isles ultimately strengthen the forces of the Horde.

Vol’jin is also aware of the strategic importance that the homeland Darkspear offers its allies, but it is due more to personal reasons. Zalazane betrayal is an affront against Vol’jin dream of a better life for his tribe, the fate that his late father, Sen’jin provided years ago. Only once again stand on the Echo Isles Vol’jin will be able to honor his father and, finally, to ensure continuous long-term home was exiled Darkspear tribe.

Millions of Muslims and Hindus across India Saturday celebrated Eid and Ganesh Chaturthi with prayers and offerings to the less privileged.

From the Kashmir Valley to Hyderabad in the south and from Gujarat to Assam in the far-east, Muslims poured into small and huge mosques in urban and rural areas for the morning Eid namaz.

Two of the biggest congregations in the capital took place at the mammoth Jama Masjid and Fatehpuri mosques, both built in the 17th century near Old Delhi’s famed Chandni Chowk.

Once the prayers got over, a sea of mainly young and elderly males with skullcaps streamed out of the mosques to embrace one another and offer Eid greetings. In many places, Hindus joined them.

At over 150 million, India is home to the world’s second largest Muslim population after Indonesia. They are also the country’s largest religious minority.

‘There were people, people, people everywhere in our mosque and in the areas around our mosque,’ Shahi Naib Imam, Maulvi Mohammed Muazzam Ahmed, of the Fatehpuri mosque told IANS.

In Islam, Eid- ul- Fitr is the feast that marks the end of Ramadan. it is also the day of prayer and zakat (donations for the poor). Theeidul fiter confirmed yesterday. As this day a holiday for Muslims, many adults and children require a leave of absence to share this moment of joy with family. Women and children put henna and are dressed in their finest clothes, after morning prayers, Muslims are directed to mosques for the Eid prayer and listen to the hadith of the Imam before the family visit to wish a happy eidday to all loved ones.

‘Both before and after the namaz, almost 50 percent of those who called or met to greet me were Hindus or Christians,’ he said.

Even before Eid prayers began, Hindus armed with flowers and coconuts began visiting temples to offer prayers to the elephant-headed Lord Ganesh to mark Ganesh Chaturthi.

While the event was marked with the most exuberance in Mumbai and the rest of Maharashtra, the celebrations took place all across the country — in homes as well as in temples.

In Tamil Nadu, tens of thousands thronged Ganesh temples. Temples in Delhi also drew thousands.

In Srinagar, summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, the Eid prayers were followed by massive street protests as emotive crowds seeking independence from India marched from the Hazratbal mosque to the city centre Lal Chowk attacking security personnel and government buildings.

Authorities had not imposed curfew or restrictions anywhere in the Kashmir Valley to allow people to offer Eid prayers.

After the prayers, a large group of people outside the Hazratbal shrine torched the barracks of the armed police. The guards fired shots in the air. Similar anti-India rallies took place in many towns of the Kashmir Valley.

In Mumbai, despite a terror threat, millions marked Eid, Ganeshotsav and Jain community’s Samvasari.

While Hindus turned up in huge numbers at thousands of big and small marquees for the ‘aarti’ of Ganesha, Muslims converged in some 200 mosques around the city to offer namaaz.

The Shwetambar Jain sect celebrated the end of their eight-day fasting period and wished each other in temples dotting the city.

Hindu and Muslim celebrations also took place in all states including Uttar Pradesh, Assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. Eid was marked in Kerala Saturday.

Temples in Bangalore and other cities were decked up. Hundreds stood in serpentine queues to join special poojas to ward off evil.

Hindus also had colourful rangoli designs in the forecourts of their houses, strung fresh mango leaves across their doors and worshipped clay idols of Ganesha.

Eid was celebrated with religious fervour and gaiety across Andhra Pradesh, with Imams condemning earlier plans of an American pastor to burn the Quran to mark 9/11 anniversary.

Similar demands were made by Muslim clerics in Patna and several towns in Bihar.

Muslim men and children clad in new clothes offered prayers at Idgahs and mosques in Hyderabad. The biggest gathering took place at the city’s Mir Alam Idgah where over 300,000 offered pray

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo, sidelined by an ankle injury since the end of August, will play at home against Osasuna on Saturday, coach Jose Mourinho said Friday.“Cristiano Ronaldo will be a starter. I am afraid of the possibility he may get injured again. I am afraid someone may hit him, but that’s normal in football,” he told a news conference on the eve of his Spanish league debut at Real’s Bernabeu stadium.

“He has been training at least five hours a day. The medical staff and the player say he’s 100 percent fit to play, so he has the same risk of getting injured as the rest of his team-mates,” he added.

“He will play because he is fit and because it will be a difficult game.”

Real had said the Portuguese winger — the world’s most expensive player — would be out for three weeks after taking a knock to the right ankle during the 0-0 draw against Real Mallorca on August 29.

The former Manchester United star had said on Wednesday that he was almost recovered and might be fit in time for his club’s first Champions League group phase match against Ajax on September 15.

Ronaldo missed Portugal’s shock 4-4 draw with minnows Cyprus in a Euro 2012 qualifier on September 3 and the team’s 1-0 loss to Norway four days later.

Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai to rewind the time with Action Replayy on This Diwali

“Once Upon a Time in Mumbai” seems to have brought the magic of retro back in Bollywood. Now “Action Replayy” on this Diwali will once again rewind the time and will take us to 1970’s era with Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai sporting retro looks.

Intersetingly, Mr. Khiladi aspires to rewind the time in real life too. He wants to relive his school days. He wants to be part of his parents wedding and wants to know about their falling in love. When he was asked as to what changes he would like to make in his career, he replied that he would like to make amendments in his movie “Sangharsh” with Priety Zinta. After remaking it, he would like to re-release it. He says that it has got fabulous subject and is close to his heart. That is why he chose to groom it and represent it to the audiences.

“Action Replayy” will connect the audiences to their favorite actors of yesteryears. The flavor of colorful 70’s in their clothes, accessories, gestures, and architecture is clearly depicted in the promos of “Action Replayy”. Clad in dotted polka and lengthened side locks Aishwarya is reminding of gorgeous beauties of 1970’s and Akshay Kumar will be seen wearing flowery shirts and bell-bottoms and the high spot of their looks are squared dark glares.

Akshay Kumar has aped the looks of veteran actor Sunil Dutt. He preferred to be stayed on with one style icon instead of messing it up with all of stars of 70’s. When he was asked as why he didn’t opt for superstar Rajesh Khanna, he admitted that Rajesh Khanna had been unparalleled star of his time but Sunil Dutt’s style suits fit in this case. However Khiladi Kumar desires to witness that era of Rajesh Khanna who was first in Bollywood to earn the title of super star. Akshay wishes to perceive the glory and celebrity status that his father-in-law gained in olden times.

“Action Replayy” is based on the play that was staged in way back 1994 with the same title. Vipul Shah, director of the movies adapted the script to be developed into movie’s script. Vipul Shah admitted that it was tough job to bring authenticity in each of the aspect of 1970’s life. Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai has come up together after “Khakee”.

Kolkata High Court Judge Soumitra Sen Guilty of Embezzlement

The Rajya Sabha panel has found Kolkata High Court judge Soumitra Sen guilty of not performing judicial work for the last two years on Saturday, Sep 11.

Soumitra Sen

As per reports, Sen may become the first judge to be impeached for his lack of dedication in work.

The probe was headed by the Vice President Hamid Ansari and it is reported that the issue will be discussed in the Parliament in the winter session where both the Houses would be present.

Sen was found allegedly misusing the cash of Rs 24 lakh, which was meant for the judicial purposes. The tainted judge however has questioned the constitutionality of the impeachment proceedings, as the embezzlement had taken place when he was a lawyer and not a judge

Under Article 124(4), which provides the procedure for removal of a sitting judge of the Supreme Court or the HC, a judge of the SC can be removed on the orders of the President.

The orders of the President are passed “after an address by each House of Parliament supported by a majority of the total membership of that House and by a majority not less than two-thirds of the members of that House present and voting has been presented to the President in the same session for such removal on the ground of proved misbehaviour or incapacity”

The UK's top tax man has refused to apologise after taking the wrong amount of tax from six million people.

Revenue and Customs boss says he need not apologise
By Paul Lewis
Presenter, Money Box
11 September 2010 Last updated at 11:57 GMT

The UK's top tax man has refused to apologise after taking the wrong amount of tax from six million people.

Dave Hartnett, Permanent Secretary at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), claimed media stories of blunders and IT failures were wrong.

And he warned those who owed £2,000 or more in back tax they would have just over three months to repay it in full.

Conservative MP Ian Liddell-Grainger accused HMRC of "built-in arrogance".

Speaking exclusively to Radio 4's Money Box programme, Mr Hartnett said: "I'm not sure I see a need to apologise."

He added: "I've read the papers, listened to the media and heard stories of HMRC blunders and IT failure - neither of those are true."

Mr Hartnett said the 5.7 million letters that he would be sending out to taxpayers before Christmas were the result of a normal process of matching the tax deducted from each taxpayer with their circumstances.

He confirmed that 1.4 million people would be told they had extra tax to pay.

And he revealed that those who owed the most tax would have the least time to pay.

"Those [who owe] more than £2,000… will be given an opportunity to pay based on a notice from us, or, failing that, they will be brought within self-assessment.

Tighter deadlines

"People who enter self-assessment are expected to pay within three months and a little bit more."

Those owing below £2,000 will have the money deducted from their pay or pension over 12 months, or three years in cases of hardship.

End Quote John Andrews, chairman of the Low Incomes Tax Reform Group

Mr Hartnett said that system would apply to "more than 80%" of those who owed money.

But he defended the tighter deadline for the biggest bills.

"I think owing the most may actually mean they're earning the most… I think it's very unlikely that a low earner will owe us more than £2,000 as a result of the process we're going through."

An HMRC spokesman added that help was available to all people ordered to pay back tax, including those owing more than £2,000.

But Mr Liddell-Grainger MP, chairman of the All Party Parliamentary Taxation Group, said of HMRC: "They're one of these organisations that's grown and grown. They aren't actually up to it.

"You get this built-in arrogance we're hearing, where 'I don't need to apologise because I've not done anything wrong'."

John Andrews, chairman of the Low Incomes Tax Reform Group, said: "The £2,000 procedure gives me concern.

"There are circumstances in which over a two year period, for example on a bereavement where a widow suddenly inherits part of her late husband's pension, it is quite easy to run up this amount.
HMRC coding notice Some taxpayers can expect more letters and tax returns from HMRC in the coming months

"I hope that HMRC would live up to the Your Charter expectations and look at individuals."

Mr Hartnett said that the main batches of letters to taxpayers would start going out in "early to mid October' and he still intended they would all arrive by Christmas.

Three quarters of those written to - 4.3 million people - will get a rebate averaging £400.

The rest, 1.4 million, will be told they have to pay the extra tax.

None will have to pay less than £300 and the average will be £1,428. Up to 250,000 could be asked for £2,000 or more.

BBC Radio 4's Money Box is broadcast on Saturdays at 1200 BST, and repeated on Sundays at 2100 BST.

What is your reaction to this story? Have you received a letter about your tax payment?

President Barack Obama urged respect for other religious faiths after the threat, now on hold, sparked protests across the Muslim world.

US to mark 9/11 anniversary amid Koran-burning row
11 September 2010 Last updated at 10:09 GMT

Bells will toll in New York at the time the Twin Towers were struck The US is preparing to mark nine years since 9/11 amid controversy over plans for an Islamic centre nearby and a threat to burn the Koran.

President Barack Obama urged respect for other religious faiths after the threat, now on hold, sparked protests across the Muslim world.

The Florida pastor behind the threat has arrived in New York.

This year's anniversary is likely to be the most contentious and fraught yet, says the BBC's Laura Trevelyan.

Once the city's official commemorations are over, rallies will be held both for and against the proposed Islamic community centre and mosque near Ground Zero.

Both sides want to use the emotion of the day to highlight their causes, our correspondent says.

Four airliners were hijacked during the attacks in 2001, which claimed 2,975 lives, not including the 19 hijackers.

Two planes were crashed into the towers of New York's World Trade Center (WTC) and one into the Pentagon, while the fourth crashed into a field in Pennsylvania, after passengers apparently fought back.

US Vice-President Joe Biden is to attend the official ceremony in New York at which the names of all the people who died at the WTC will be read out.

Houses of worship across the city have been asked to toll their bells at 0846 (1346 GMT), the moment the first hijacked plane struck the North Tower.

President Obama will attend the ceremony at the Pentagon and his wife Michelle will attend the event in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, along with former first lady Laura Bush.
Sensitivity issue

Some relatives of the 9/11 victims says it is disrespectful to have a reminder of Islam by the place where so many died but other families support the project as an expression of America's commitment to freedom of religion.

This mosque, the location of it, is a grievous offence to the sensitivity of 9/11 families”

9/11 relative slams Koran pastor

Stephanie Parker, daughter of 9/11 victim Philip L Parker, attended a vigil in support of the Islamic centre near the site on Friday.

She said she had come to the vigil, which gathered about 2,000 people, because she was troubled by what she saw as people wrongly equating all of Islam with the hijackers.

"I think the anniversary is being overshadowed," she told the Associated Press news agency.

Sally Regenhard, who lost her firefighter son Christian Regenhard on 9/11, planned to attend both the ceremony in New York and the anti-mosque protest.

"The purpose is to speak out and express our feelings that this mosque, the location of it, is a grievous offence to the sensitivity of 9/11 families," she said.

Supporters of the planned mosque held a vigil on Friday evening

The anti-mosque rally is expected to hear taped messages from Bush-era diplomat John Bolton and conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart.

Dutch anti-Islam politician Geert Wilders, who advocates banning the Koran, plans to address the rally in person, as do a handful of Republican congressional candidates.

Pressure on pastor

Saturday saw new protests in mainly Muslim countries over the Koran-burning proposal, with rallies reported in Somalia and Afghanistan.

Terry Jones arrives in New York's Laguardia airport, 10 September
Police escorted Mr Jones after his arrival in New York's Laguardia airport

The controversial pastor, Terry Jones, said he hoped to meet a leading imam to discuss the proposal for the Islamic centre, to be located a short distance from Ground Zero, the WTC site.

He said he had suspended the book-burning only because he had received a guarantee, from an imam in Florida, that the centre would be moved.

But the planners of the Islamic centre have said they did not speak to the Florida imam, and would not be moving their project.

Feisal Abdul Rauf, the imam behind the proposed centre, said on Friday that he was "prepared to consider meeting with anyone who is seriously committed to pursuing peace" but added that he had no current plans to meet Mr Jones.

Mr Jones is the pastor of the tiny and previously little-known Dove World Outreach Center in Gainesville, Florida, and author of a book entitled Islam is of the Devil.

He had planned to stage an International Burn a Koran Day on Saturday, saying the book was "evil".

But pressure was put on the pastor to cancel the burning. The FBI visited Mr Jones to urge him to reconsider his plans and he was telephoned by US Defence Secretary Robert Gates.

In his remarks on Friday, Mr Obama denied that his administration's intervention in the affair had elevated it to greater prominence.

He appealed to Americans to respect the "inalienable" right of religious freedom and said he hoped the preacher would abandon his plan to burn the Koran, as it could add to the dangers facing US soldiers serving abroad.

"This is a way of endangering our troops, our sons and daughters... you don't play games with that," he told reporters.

Princess Diana would surely come to haunt a Chinese lingerie brand if she saw what they had done to her image in order to advertise new range of Diana underwear.

The ads show a look-alike of late Princess of Wales in lingerie. The model is sporting a tiara, a necklace, and a pale blue necklace while playing a cello to a child.

The tagline of the lingerie brand asks customers to feel the 'Romance of British Royalty', reported Daily Mail. Ironically, the advertisement was launched on the death anniversary of Princess Diana.

Diana LingerieThis is a clear example of how Diana's image and popularity is used to sell a prod. Incidentally, In Britain, there are restrictions on using images of royal family to promote any goods and services.

Demi Moore starrer 'The Joneses' to be made in Hindi

Mumbai: (IANS) "The Joneses", a romantic comedy starring Demi Moore and David Duchovny that released in the US last month, will be remade in Hindi at an estimated budget of Rs.60 crore, though not in the same style as the original.

It will be produced by Sheetal Talwar and Madhu Mantena's company Vistaar-Religare that has financial stakes in the Demi Moore-starrer.

Bhavna Talwar, of 'Dharm' fame, will direct it and she intends to completely turn the American film around.

"I want to remove 'The Joneses' from the rom-com space and make it a mirror of suburban life in India," Bhavna told IANS.

This is the first time that a Hollywood release is being remade in Bollywood so soon after its original release.

Bhavna says she fell in love with the material the minute she read the script. It was her husband Sheetal's idea that she should remake it in Hindi.

"At first I baulked at the very idea of doing a remake, and that too of a Hollywood rom-com. Both my films so far 'Dharm' and the about-to-release 'Happi' are original works. I reluctantly read the script for 'The Joneses'. I loved the material, not the way it is, but in the way it can be modified, restructured and adapted into our own style and environment."

While the focus in 'The Joneses' is on the couple played by Moore and Duchovny who move into an American suburb, Bhavna's instant adaptation would shift the focus from the couple to their son.

Bhavna would like Ranbir Kapoor to play the son.

"I'm not talking about the cast as yet. But yes, I find the idea of looking at the suburban jungle through the son's eyes very interesting. That's how my version of 'The Joneses' will be structured," she said.

New Delhi, Sep 10 (IANS) Bollywood, for long considered a male-centric industry, is no more an alien world for women directors - if the success of Anusha Rizvi's "Peepli Live" and Rajshree Ojha's "Aisha" is any indication. Women are confidently going behind the camera to call the shots.

"It is not about being a woman director but about directing your thoughts. Look at me, I didn't come with anything (in the industry). It was a challenge to prove yourself. But I actually never had any issues. I faced the usual trouble any director would face," Ojha told IANS.

"I had already worked so much in America so the issue for me was understanding how to go about it (in India). But that's all a part of the industry. It is not gender-centric," added the one-film old Ojha who idolises Satyajit Ray and Ang Lee.

Her "Aisha", a modern-day adaptation of Jane Austen's British novel "Emma", starred Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol.

"Earlier women were not venturing out behind the camera; so it was thought to be male territory. But now more of them are learning the technicalities and it is a very good thing for the industry," trade analyst Taran Adarsh told IANS.

"A lot of movies are being planned out by a lot of women directors in Bollywood. They are in fact venturing into all aspects of cinema today."

"At the end of the day, it is not about being a man or woman but about telling a good story. If they have one, nothing else matters," he added.

Looking back there have been only a handful of them in India like Sai Paranjpaye, Kalpana Lazmi, Aparna Sen and Tanuja Chandra and some based abroad like Deepa Mehta, Mira Nair and Gurinder Chadha.

However, the new wave has seen emerging endeavours from women directors like Meghna Gulzar, Farah Khan, Reema Kagti, Sooni Taraporewala, Leena Yadav, Pooja Bhatt, Bhavna Talwar and Zoya Akhtar.

Actress Revathy is lauded for making the first Bollywood film on AIDS, "Phir Milenge", starring Shilpa Shetty, Salman Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.

Actress Nandita Das, who won laurels for her directorial debut "Firaaq", told IANS: "When you are directing, you don't see yourself as a woman. You are just directing. Women face challenges in any profession. There are things like people using bad language, etc., but when one is working on a film, one does not concentrate on other aspects."

Nandita is now going to wield the megaphone for a movie on human trafficking.

Earlier producers were reportedly reluctant to hand over the reins to them. But these days a female director finds support from big names.

Journalist-turned-director Anusha Rizvi recently set the box office on fire with Aamir Khan produced "Peepli Live", a political satire about farmer suicides in India.

"The thing is that women suffer in any industry. This may not happen consciously or unconsciously, but you have to accept that and fight it. It is a social problem. It is not a problem of the industry per se. But when you are being targeted like that, it is purely a power equation," Rizvi told IANS.

"(As for me) I haven't gone through the regular grind that a lot of people go through in the industry. It has been a different kind of structure that I've been through which has no particular consideration about a woman. I only approached one producer (unlike others). So it was very different for me. There is no gender- centric thing in this case," she added.

Nandita is, however, hopeful more women will don the director's hat in time to come.

"Finally, there are visibly more women who are coming into direction. Many doors have opened. It will slowly grow. It is definitely more than before, but not enough," she said.

Aamir Khan's wife, Kiran Rao, has also gone behind the camera to make "Dhobhi Ghat" and then there is S. Manasvi, who will make her directorial debut with Rajshri Productions' "Love U...Mr. Kalakaar!".

Avant-garde actress Deepti Naval has also turned director with her poetic debut, "Do Paise Ki Dhoop, Chaar Aane Ki Baarish"

A British MP's wife works as a prostitute charging 70 pounds "for oral sex without a condom followed by full sex with a condom", said a media report in London. The revelation left the MP stunned as he said: "That's a horrible shock". Sunday Mirror reported that Tory MP Mike Weatherley's
Brazilian wife Carla, 39, works at three seedy brothels.

The expose could prove embarrassing to Prime Minister David Cameron, who campaigned alongside Weatherley at the general election earlier this year.

Weatherley met Carla 10 years ago while he was on a business trip to Rio de Janeiro. Sources say that she was already then a sex worker. There is, however, nothing to suggest that Weatherley knew.

After starting a relationship, Weatherley may have bought Carla an apartment in the Copacabana beach area.

Later, Weatherley moved Carla to Britain, where they married in Brighton, East Sussex, in 2003.

Carla's occupation was listed as housewife in the marriage certificate and initially, she put her past behind her.

However, in February, as Weatherley geared up for the poll campaign, she re-entered the sex industry.

During the campaign, Weatherley took Carla to a number of political functions in the Hove and Portslade constituency.

Sunday Mirror reporter met her at a South London massage parlour where she offered to perform a list of sex acts. She then stripped off and danced naked.

The media report said that Carla walked into the room in pink lingerie and said she was "Bea".

She then rattled off a price list - "30 pounds for hand relief, 40 pounds for oral sex with a condom followed by sex and 70 pounds for oral sex without a condom followed by full sex with a condom".

She also spoke about two brothels where she works - North Cheam Massage and Intimate Massage in Bedford.

"I started working in Bedford in February, but it is very far away. Here we have two houses, this one and one in Cheam. And I work there at the moment. I cover for my friend because she's on holiday. I work on Thursday there and on Friday in London. Then, when she is back, I will work on Mondays. Thursdays here, Mondays there," she was quoted as saying.

She added: "I like it here, nice clients, nice people, nice place and good money."

Weatherley said he was not aware that his wife was a prostitute and added: "Oh no. It's a bit of a shock. We separated in February and I had absolutely no idea at all. We've kept in touch and have lunch together every week so we're still good friends."

"That's a horrible shock... thank you for letting me know."
