Suniel Shetty took off for Bangkok last night with his teenage son Ahaan. This will be a holiday-cum-work vacation. The missus, Mana and daughter Athiya are staying back in Mumbai.

In his spare time
The actor will be shooting with Priyadarshan for Thank You, but in his spare time will keep his son company. Says Anna, "He has his winter holidays so I decided to take him along. It's time for some father and son bonding. Ahaan loves water sports so we want to spend a lot of time snorkelling, jet skiing, deep-water diving etc."

Ahaan turns 15 on January 15 so this is kind of a pre-birthday treat for him. The proud father reveals that his son is already taller than him, "I enjoy being with him. I am used to taking care of him from the time he was three years old, when I'd taken him abroad for one of my films with Priyan. I love being a hands-on dad. Now the difference is that he takes care of me."

Let's play!
Baap-beta also plan to play a bit of cricket with the unit. "Bobby (Deol) and Irrfan (Khan) are cricket-crazy, so in the six days, there will be lots of sporty action taking place. Ahaan and I also love cricket, so we will get to play a lot of it."

Shetty Junior wants to be an actor and his parents are supportive of the decision, "I always tell him about Hrithik, who is also one of my favourite star kids, and to be as dedicated as him. But I want Ahaan to get a degree in acting and filmmaking from the US. It's not only about acting. If his first film doesn't do well, it shouldn't be the end of the world for him.

“I would never discourage him from wanting to be an actor. The film industry is a beautiful place to be in. The only thing I am scared of, is failure. My children can handle success but I don't want them to see failure. When you are educated you are prepared for anything," concludes Shetty.

This New Year revealed the true colour of Bollywood's most mysterious couple Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra. They have been keeping mum about their much-rumoured 'on and off' relationship all these years but they exposed it all on New Year by celebrating together.

It is said that Shahid, who is currently busy shooting for Mausam in Chandigarh, took a day off and joined Priyanka and her family in Goa. He came to Goa on New Year's eve, spent time with Priyanka and returned to Mausam shooting sets the next day.

“Priyanka has come here to Chandigarh twice. On December 30 Shahid flew to Goa to bring in the New Year with Priyanka and her family. On December 30, he actually missed his flight to Goa via Mumbai, so he caught another one from Chandigarh via Delhi to Goa,” Mumbai Mirror quoted a Mausam crew as saying.

The source added that Shahid didn't delay the shooting of Mausam by going to Goa on New Year. “We had decided to take a break for New Year's anyway. We were all there. Shahid's absence was glaring especially because his father was there. We joked about how the Mausam was very romantic in Goa at this time of the year.”

Well, if this is not love, what is love?

We've hardly been hearing about Tulip Joshi at least as far as films are concerned, so it comes as a surprise that she managed to create a controversy out of the one film that she is doing currently.

If what we hear is true then the producers of the film Dam 999, Biz TV Network, a UAE based company, has filed a legal suit against the actress. The case so far, from the producer's side is that Tulip has been non responsive towards the film. They say that after paying her the initial half of her total fee, Tulip shot for just two days leaving the schedule mid-way citing health problems.

Further, the producers say that even repeated attempts to contact Tulip have failed and there has been no response from her side either.

While on the other hand, it is heard that Tulip has refuted the claims stating that the film shoot ended abruptly and she has been waiting for a response from the producers.

Watch Online Impatient Vivek – Music Review
By: Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Hungama
Monday, January 3, 2011, 15:21 [IST]

Expectations:
With absolutely nothing known about Impatient Vivek, one doesn't have any expectations whatsoever from the music as well. Add to that an unconventional title like this and one is not even clear about the genre of the film, hence making one further apprehensive about what composers Raja Ali, Neeraj Shrivastava, Shahdaab Bhartya and Anamik Chauhan have to offer.

Music:
The manner in which 'Ek Pari Pagal Si' begins, it reminds one of the many a romantic tracks that have been composed by Pritam in the last 3-4 years, what with an English passage marking a kick start. Neeraj Shrivastava is the composer as well as lyricist here (along with Rahul Seth) and comes up with a passable tune that doesn't have anything new to offer. What catches one's attention at this point is the fact that the singer here is Vivek Sudershan who is also the lead in the film. In fact on being looked further, it is revealed that he has actually sung most of the songs in the album. Nevertheless coming back to 'Ek Pari Pagal Si', it also has Rahul Seth and Sharmistha coming together with Vivek to create a romantic number that just manages to pass muster even though it is repeated in the 'Love Reprise' version.

There is an attempt to bring on some fun element with 'Ye Banda Maskalandar' which could well have been the title song here, courtesy the words Impatient Vivek at the very start. Trying to bring on a Punjabi fusion here, composer Raja Ali also chips in some rap portions. However, the overall impact created by this Rahat Kazmi written track isn't anything great to write home about as Vivek Sudershan and Shazneen pair up as singers here. One does feel though that it was actually a wrong choice to have Vivek as a singer here as he doesn't quite come across as someone for whom singing is the prime profession.

However the makers thought otherwise and hence Vivek is heard again in 'Tujhe Manga Hai' which is a Nusrat Badr written track. A love song that has been given a sonic feel by composer Raja Ali, 'Tujhe Manga Hai' gets into a lovey-dovey mood but doesn't quite make one 'impatient' enough to play it on all over again. The good part though is that it has an uncluttered sound (even in its 'remix version'), hence being easy on ears.

The moment one reads Hariharan's name on the credits, it is obvious that 'Pal Hai Makhmali' would be a poetic soft song. This is exactly what composer Shahdaab Bhartya and lyricist Sanjay Mishra have to offer. The end result is hardly enticing though as the song is totally boring from the word 'go'. Coming with enough ammunition to put one to instant sleep, 'Pal Hai Makhmali' has newcomer Asmita Dhuldhoye pairing up with Hariharan.

Thankfully there is some excitement in store with Aamir Ali written 'Meri Nindiya Udne' turning out to be the first ever track in the album that actually makes you tap your feet at least. No, it isn't a great song by any means nor is it the kind that makes one feel that if only it would have come at the top of the album, the results would have been much different. However, the very fact that the songs before these didn't have much to write home about that one even gladly laps up this average dance track by Raja Ali which is aided by some energetic rendition by Vivek Sudershan and Tarannum Mallik.

The title song comes much later in the day with Dominque Cejero and Vivek Sudershan getting together for 'Impatient Vivek'. An English song written by Binish Khan and put to tune by Anamik Chauhan, one can well expect a music video for this dance track which is actually not bad and does make one tap your feet after it has been heard a couple of times.

After a couple of decent tracks (Meri Nindiya Udne, Impatient Vivek) there is a dip in the proceedings once again with 'Khuraphat' turning out to be a 'skip after a single listening itself' kind of a track. Sounding so much like an early 80s song from the films that starred Mithun Chakravorty, 'Khuraphat' is written and composed by Neeraj Shrivastava. Not really going anywhere, 'Khuraphat' makes one check out the last song in the album and see if it is any better.

What one gets to hear though is a tune which is just not in synch with the rest of the album and is in fact poorly arranged as well. An effort by composer Raja Ali and lyricist Aamir Ali, 'Ishq Musibat' is a sad take on love and only becomes further sad due to listless singing by Vivek Sudershan. In fact one deserves a pat on the back for listening to it even once in entirety.

Overall:
Though there was nothing that one expected from Impatient Vivek, it did flatter to deceive at a couple of junctures. However the rest of the album doesn't even come close to being average hence making one let go off this soundtrack after a single listening itself.

Our Pick(S):
Meri Nindiya Udne

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has composed the official theme song of World Cup 2011. They have composed the three versions of the song titled ‘De Ghumaa Ke’ in Bengali, Hindi and Sinhalese. The tournament, which will start on February 19, will be held in the three nations India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

The theme song ‘De Ghumaa Ke’ is a very passionate number aimed to create the fierce sense of competition and the strong desire to win. The term literally means ‘Hit It Hard’ and it is one word used by all the cricket fanatics for their favorite player and team. So, this basic theme of the game has been incorporated in the song.

The song has been released on 31st December through different radio networks in India, ICC’s global production and broadcast rights holder ESPN STAR Sports. We are just one and half month away from the grand start of ‘World Cup 2011’ and they have given this enthusiastic number to be hummed by all cricket fanatics till then.

Speaking about this composition, Shankar Mahadevan stated that cricket is like a religion in India so they feel privileged to compose this anthem for World Cup this year. He said that the audience will get enough time before the tournament to learn the song by heart. Ehsaan Noorani added that they have used several colloquialisms like ‘jiyo khiladi wahe wahe’, which has the quality to raise the winning spirit. They have also incorporated a lot of Indian rhythms as well as rock and hip hop.

This is perhaps the worst silver screen edition of the 18th century novel written by Jonathan Swift. Jack Black, who plays Lemuel Gulliver in the Friday release, disappoints throughout. The actor may have given Hollywood some wonderful performances in films like Kung Fu Panda and King Kong, but Jack Black tends to forget that not all stories want him to play a geek! For that matter, the humor in the 2010 version of Gulliver’s Travels also fails to impress.

Lemuel Gulliver here is a mailroom worker who is very much in love with Darcy Silverman, a newspaper travel editor. To express his love, Gulliver sets upon a travel from where he will return to pen his own experiences. Lemuel Gulliver sets upon a journey to the Bermuda Triangle and accidentally reaches the land of Lilliputs when his ship wrecks. It is here that Lemuel Gulliver starts enjoying the taste of being a true hero when the Lilliputs shower the towering man with love and respect.

The Lilliput kingdom considers Gulliver, the savior of their little world. Will he emerge as the real hero that he brags to be or will Lemuel Gulliver fall short of the Lilliputs’ expectations? Gulliver’s Travels shows some high class drama, comedy, fantasy and even love, but still fails to draw the attention of the audience. Running for a duration of only 95 minutes, Gulliver’s Travels may force you to leave the theater halfway into the film!
Director: Rob Letterman

Just a few days after Celina Jaitley made her relationship with Peter Haag public, another news has hit the headlines hard. Now, the grapevine abuzz with the news that they have tied the knot six weeks ago.

However, the actress' spokesperson refused to talk about anything related to her wedding. “She spoke to you about Peter a few days ago, didn't she?" the Mumbai Mirror quoted her spokesperson as saying.

However, friends of the actress said that she must have married as she is hardly seen at her Yari Road residence. "I will not be surprised if she has settled down with Peter in Dubai. If they solemnised their relationship, it must have happened there. Celina is hardly seen in Mumbai these days," Mumbai Mirror quoted a close friend of the actress as saying.

“Like most girls with an army background, Celina loves men who are prim and diplomatic. Also, she loves Dubai. Since the past three years, she has made a lot of money by doing shows in Dubai," added another friend of Celina.

Well, Celina's man Peter Haag is a Dubai-based hotelier. The actress had earlier declared that she has been dating Peter for a while without the knowledge of the media.

Watch Online I can never be a star like Aamir, Salman: Shahrukh

After fighting it out for years for the B-Town crown, Shahrukh Khan has passed it on to two of his biggest rivals Aamir Khan and Salman Khan.

On the couch of Koffee With Karan (KWK), SRK, in one of his most mellow moods, has spoken candidly about friends, co-stars, films and much more. But one striking note in this chat appears to be when Shahrukh reveals that he needs to grow up as Salman and Aamir have.

A source present on KWK said, "For years Shahrukh and Aamir have been passing snide remarks about each being King and Ace of the box office and masses. Shahrukh and Aamir are two of the most popular Khans and adored by thousands of fans, so the fight for the ultimate title has always been quite an issue with these two stars, as they have always managed to topple each other at some point of time or the other. They have even sarcastically claimed their number one spot at media events."

While both have had equally big hits with 3 Idiots and My Name Is Khan, in recent times their rivalry hit an all-time high when both the stars were reported to sign on projects with international directors with the basic storyline of the city of Mumbai.

Shahrukh is to do a project with Danny Boyle, who is scheduled to adapt Suketu Mehta's Maximum City. Aamir Khan with director Paul Schrader, is to adapt Extreme City for producer Anubhav Sinha, which will be based in Dharavi, a slum in the city.

However Shahrukh in KWK has put to rest the Aamir-SRK war when he tells show host Karan Johar, "I am not and can never be as big a star and actor like Salman or Aamir. I would like to grow up to be like them one day."

This was quite a revelation considering SRK is known to be an actor who considers himself the superstar of B-Town and has never made any bones about being the No 1.

Apart from humbly giving up his throne, there's another reason for SRK's statement, the source said. "The fact is Aamir and Salman are senior to SRK in terms of having entered the industry before him. So, that's also SRK's tongue-in-cheek way of saying he is younger to them in experience and still has a lot to learn."
