The Story :
Kaccha Limboo movie revolves around the rift that creeps in between parents and their teenage kids. The reasons, the repercussions, the over all scenario.

Movie Review:
Hindi cinema is going through a major metamorphosis. Innovative ideas and fresh stories are being developed and executed by Gen X storytellers. Bheja Fry director Sagar Ballary also tries to attempt something different from what he attempted in his maiden attempt. The humungous expectations from Ballary must've put tremendous pressure and responsibility on his shoulders, for sure. But before I begin to analyze Kaccha Limboo, let me clear the misconception about the genre of this one. It's not a comedy, not remotely similar to Bheja Fry, as some people would like to believe.



I couldn't help but recall three films while watching Kaccha Limboo - Gulzar's Kitaab [1977], Ritwik Ghatak's Bari Theke Paliye [Bengali; 1959] and celebrated French director Francois Truffaut's The 400 Blows aka Les Quatre Cents Coups [French; 1959]. These three films had great stories to tell [of a misunderstood adolescent], but among the three, Kaccha Limboo bears a striking resemblance to Kitaab, which, in my opinion, ranks amongst Gulzar's best works. However, unlike Kitaab, which remains well etched in our memory even after three decades, Kaccha Limboo runs out of gas after an interesting first hour.

Kaccha Limboo suffers due to a sketchy screenplay, also penned by Ballary. In fact, the post-interval portions ruin the impact that was beautifully created after a fairly engrossing first hour. One would've expected Ballary to explore the infatuation angle in the story or the cracks that develop between the adolescent and his parents. Instead, the story wanders to an alien territory in the second hour and I actually wondered, did Ballary intend telling a fresh story in the second half? That's not all! The story goes on and on and on and on… so much so that you fervently pray that it reaches its culmination pronto. But Ballary messes up the conclusion too.

Makes me wonder if Bheja Fry was a fluke. Or was it just a flash in the pan? In fact, I would consider it disrespectful if anyone compares the brilliant Taare Zameen Par with this slapdash effort!



Shambhu [Taher Sutterwala] is a 13-year-old teenager who falters consistently. Trouble at school, peer pressure and a half-baked romance, all contribute to his woes. A huge fight with some local boys and a stern warning from the School Principal deepens his crisis and running away from home seems like a solution.

On his journey of self-realization and discovery, Shambhu bumps into Vitthal [Chinmay Kambli], an extremely smart kid who belongs to a nearby fisherman colony. Shambhu is mesmerized by this new world he encounters with Vitthal. Everything is in such stark contrast to the world he had just left behind. And everything worked just fine until a sudden turn of events force Vitthal and Shambhu to set out on a train journey in search of a place where they can find the freedom they desire.

Kaccha Limboo starts off really well, with Ballary handling the material with great care. Childhood can be a delight, but in today's chaotic world, the kids are often exposed to the realities of adulthood very early in their life. The incidents depicted in the film's first hour [peer pressure, puppy love, familial frustrations and high-school dilemmas] seem so real, as if they were borrowed from your, mine, our lives. The incidents, anecdotes, occurrences and episodes are worth noting, especially Shambhu's interaction with his classmates and also with his parents [with his father in particular]. In fact, the viewer is introduced to Shambhu's grumpy and irritable nature at the very outset, when Vinay Pathak and Rukhsaar, family friends, are invited home for dinner. The kid experiences the lonely stages at home and also at school and the film offers an insight into the emotional confusion that he experiences, besides creating a touching awareness of his unspoken agonies.

Reportedly, Actor Sohail Khan has left a reality TV show, Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla after giving commitment to the show. His exit has caused a problem to the show as it has its premiere on March 19.

Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla, a stand up comedy show had the original format with five-member team led by each celebrity captain, which included Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Shreyas Talpade, Sohail Khan and Shekhar Suman. However, sources from the show claim that the format of the show had to be changed at the last moment as Sohail opted out of it at the last moment.

The sources of Mid Day from the channel Star Plus inform that Sohail Khan exited from the show after learning the names of the other celebrity captains on the show. His last moment exist didn't help as the channel was unable to find another replacement for him on the show, therefore the format had to be changed and one team had to be dropped.

Meanwhile, Sohail tried to explanations by saying, "It's not true. The channel approached me a couple of months back. Director-cum-actor Sudeep's much-expected movie Kempe Gowda is really superb with all its sound production values, except one blunder, which has been often committed by the most of the Kannada filmmakers. The first half of the flick has been shot in Rona (North Karnataka) and the hero Kempe Gowda is born and brought up in Rona, but he speaks Bangalore Kannada.

Kempe Gowda is a remake of Surya's Tamil movie Singam, which has already become hit in both and Tamil and Telugu. Sudeep's power-packed performance is the main attraction of the film. Arjun's music, Different Danny's fights, Sharan and Bullet Prakash's comedy, Krishna's picturisation, Arun Sagar's art direction, choreography, beautiful locations, costume and make up works are the other highlights of the film. The movie lacks usual punch dialogues of Sudeep.

Kempe Gowda is an action-cum-romantic story, which has all the masala ingredients like action, comedy, music, sentiment and others. The movie is all about an honest police officer. Tormented by a Bangalore don, the hero challenges to eliminate all rowdy elements in the city. The director has got good grip on the tempo, which keeps hold on the audience with its twists and turns every now and then.

The story revolves around Kempe Gowda, an honest police sub-inspector. He has a dream of running a provisional store, but he becomes a police office and he is posted as PSI at his own town Rona. He falls in love with a girl (Ragini Dwivedi), who has come to his town from Bangalore to spend her holidays. Meanwhile, he develops enmity with a don called Arumugam (Ravi Shankar) of Bangalore in connection with the suicide of an NRI. The don tries to ill treat him by using his influence. How Kempe Gowda will face his challenges and eliminate him will form the interesting part of the film.

Kicha Sudeep is the showman in the film Kempe Gowda. He has delivered an excellent performance. Especially, he rocks the audience with his energetic action scenes. As Arumugam, Ravi Shankar has given wonderful performance, which matches the acting of Sudeep. Ragini Dwivedi does not have much scope, but she has tried to use the given chance to show her talent. Although Sharan and Bullet Prakash's comedy looks artificial, it is enjoyable. Gisrish Karnad, Jai Jagadish, Tara, Ashok, Ashok Kheny and others have also done justice to their respective roles.

Besides Sudeep's acting, Arjun's music is another highlight of the film. Songs like 'Srirama Jairama...', 'Vayassu Nanange Hadinentaytu...', Hale Radio...' and 'Thara Thara...' are good to listen. Different Danny's choreographed stunts are also biggest attraction of the film. Besides music and stunts, Arun Sagar's art direction, costumes, make up, choreography, locations and picturisation in the songs are really excellent. Overall, Kempe Gowda has sound Technical values.
As it is said at the beginning, the biggest drawback and blunder in the movie is the Kannada dialect used in the first half of the film Kempe Gowda. Hardly any character speaks the dialect of North Karnataka, which could have boosted the comedy element in the first half. However, this does not stop the viewers from enjoying the movie. It has good entertainer values. Do watch the film this weekend.

Musician Pete Doherty has admitted that he was there at the break-in of music store, but has denied stealing anything from the record shop. The British rocker was questioned by the German police amid allegations that he broke into a store in the picturesque Bavarian city of Regensburg at 3am on Tuesday.

It was reported earlier that a guitar and CD worth £200 were stolen and £1,800 of damage was done to the window of the shop. A witness had even identified the Babyshambles frontman as one of the three drunk raiders. So the Regensburg Police had ordered Pete Doherty to present for an interrogation.

According to sources, Pete Doherty recently appeared before the police and admitted his presence at the scene of the break-in. But he reportedly denied his alleged involvement in the robbery. “I was there, but I didn’t do it,” the Mirror quotes Doharty as saying.

However, Pete Doherty was said to be filming a costume drama, which stars French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg, at the moment when the theft was taking place. Talking to the Mirror, he said, “I know who did.” The Police have searched Doherty’s Achat Hotel room. Now, their investigation is on.

After all the explanations provided by Abhinav Kashyap on opting out of Dabangg 2 project, the director is once again in news for an interesting reason. Reportedly, the Dabangg director is all set to turn into a producer with Viacom 18. He will be making a hard-core action thriller and it is speculated that none other than actor Shahrukh Khan will be starring in the film.

Surprisingly, just a few days ago, Abhinav gave a precise explanations to the media saying that presently he is writing a script and Shahrukh is no where related to the opting out of the Dabangg project. After weeks of juggling with cage fighter Alex Reid, Katie Price, who has already brought her new man in her mansion, has planned to get a quickie divorce from him. According to sources, the former glamour model has formally filed divorce papers in court yesterday. Jordan wants a quiet divorce without much fuss.

It is reported the Katie Price is hoping to get a quickie 'no-fault divorce'. In this kind of divorce, neither the model nor the cage-fighter needs to give a reason for the split. It also avoids the drawn-out process of swapping evidence. If everything goes according to her plan, she will be legally separated from Alex within two months, reports the Mirror.

“Katie wants to put the past behind her and get on with her life. The way she sees it, her marriage to Alex is over. The sooner they can put it all behind them, the sooner they can both move on. Neither she nor Alex wanted to drag out the process or point the finger. If anything, they just wanted it dealt with in the most mature manner possible,” the Mirror quotes as a source saying.

However, Katie Price has shocked her ex-hubby cage-fighter Alex Reid by sharing her mansion with her Argentinian toyboy Leandro Penna, whom she met at Sir Elton John's Oscar party. Sources reported that the former glamour model had rubbed salt into Alex's wounds by posting a picture of the couple enjoying a curry night on Twitter.

After considering his lawyers for a couple of days, actor Charlie Sheen has finally filed a $100 million lawsuit against the Warner Bros., the bosses of 'Two and a Half Men', for terminating him from the hit US television show. He says that he has planned to take legal action against the studio and executive producer Chuck Lorre.

Warner Bros had stalled the production of 'Two and a Half Men' after his TV rant against the show creator. They were forced to fire Charlie Sheen from the show when continued to attack Chuck. The studio defended its decision by citing his dangerous self-destructive behavior. It had also claimed that it helped him to recover from his highly publicized partying, but he failed to continue with his rehabilitation program.

After reading Warner Bros termination letter, Charlie Sheen's lawyer Martin Singer had said that the actor would take legal action against them. Now, he has officially lodged a lawsuit on behalf of himself and the programme's crew against the Warner Bros studio and executive producer Chuck Lorre.

In his 30-page lawsuit, Charlie has alleged that Warner Bros bowed to Lorre's desire to 'punish' him and the producer and studio conspired to blame him for causing production to stop. The actor has also attacked Lorre and accuses the producer of making him a 'scapegoat'. “Sheen also claims that he was fired while he was sick, a breach of employment law,” reports the Telegraph.co.uk.

Talking to the host of Good Morning America, she said, “What I want people to know is that they don't understand what happened. They don't understand how poorly the courts handled it, the misconduct that went on in the original case and how the situation has been used for the benefit of judges or district attorneys. These things have caused way more damage than Polanski has ever done.”

Asked why she does not like to say it was rape, she said "Well it was, because I was 13. But he didn't mean to hurt me, he thought it was all right and I was just scared and it was bad," she said. "But it wasn't as bad as grand jury testimony, it wasn't as bad as having my sons traumatized by paparazzi. You shouldn't be damaged more by the court than by the crime.”

She was saddened the most because her sons were exposed to the same media frenzy that she was as a child. "My sons should never have had to know what it's like to deal with that," the women said. In the back of their mind, they know something bad happened to mom and they don't really want to hear about it. That shouldn't have happened to them. They shouldn't have had to deal with that. So, yeah, I'm angry," Geimer added.
