Mother English Film Synopsis :
Hye-ja is a single mom to 27-year-old Do-joon. Her son is her raison d'etre. Though an adult in years, Do-joon is naive and dependent on his mother, and a constant source of anxiety, often behaving in ways that are foolish or simply dangerous. Walking home alone one night down a nearly empty city street, he encounters a young girl who he follows for a while before she disappears into a dark alley. The next morning, she is found dead in an abandoned building and Do-joon is accused of her murder. Thanks to an inefficient lawyer and an apathetic police force, Do-joon's case is quickly closed, but his mother refuses to let this be the end of the story. Trusting no one, Hye-ja's maternal instincts kick into overdrive, and she sets out to find the girl's killer and prove her son's innocence.

Mother Hollywood film Review :
After Memories of Murder, Bong had deviated from his forte. There were many fans who have been waiting for his return to the thriller movie which has earned him an international acclaim. This time he came back, and he came back strong.
I wondered for weeks how he would differ from Memories of Murder. There were many minor plot twists just like MM. He'll put you in the edge of your seat all night as expected. The mise en scene is strikingly similar, set in an underdeveloped town of Korea. I would have been disappointed if Mother was just another version of MM but it is different. There is a definite conclusion to this film unlike MM. But, the funny thing is, even though there is a definite conclusion, you'll feel like something is not complete and you'll be left to conclude by yourself. That's the forte we've been waiting from Bong-- he catches us off-guard again.
Pay attention to the little details. You'll be greatly rewarded after the movie. Pay especially more attention to three different settings/characters when she tries to use the acupuncture needle.
I had no idea what the movie was going be about. Is it going to be about a mother trying to find the killer for her son? Perhaps she gets so angry that she kills the suspect? Is it about mother's love for her son? The only clue I had was that Bong said he wanted to portray "the crude instinct" of human beings... I didn't know what he meant before watching this film.
I had a high expectation going into this film. I expected a 7 but I left the theatre with an 8. But the movie slowly brews in you continuously. You'll wonder about various things for a long time. The 8 eventually became a 9. (MM was a 9 for me also).
I am in awe of Bong after watching this film because I don't know how one can make a complete film with such a low budget. Music score, editing, cinematography, screenplay, plot, acting... all aspects of the movies are well done. He is a living proof that no money does not equal a bad movie.While women are not granted equality with men in some countries and within certain religions--once even in America when women nationally did not have the guaranteed right to vote until 1920--one thing is certain: the relationship between a mom and her son or daughter is paramount. This is true even in fetal stages when a woman's nutrition and avoidance of prescription drugs, recreational drugs and alcohol are a must for the future baby's development. It's no wonder that evolution has given the female of the species the role of protector of children. With a few exceptions that are rare enough to prove the rule-such as the case of one American woman's drowning of her children in the bathtub and another of a mom's driving her car into a river to do away with her offspring (and in the movie "Precious" but we won't go into that)-a mother will do anything to foster her children's development.

The Exploding Girl Movie Plot::
Romantic movie movie story Hollywood movie online online movie trailer Comedy Movie movie review English movie online On a summer break from college, Ivy (Kazan), a young epileptic woman, struggles to balance her feelings for her fledgling boyfriend while her friend Al crashes with her for the season.The Exploding Girl English Hollywood Film.The film Directed by Bradley Rust Gray.

The Exploding Girl English Film Synopsis :
Ivy (Zoe Kazan of Revolutionary Road) returns home to Brooklyn for her summer break from college. She misses her boyfriend, and calls him frequently, but they can't quite seem to connect. She spends a lot of time with her longtime friend, Al (Mark Rendall of 30 Days of Night). Al clearly has a longstanding crush on Ivy, about which he's never done anything, probably out of some combination of fear and respect for their friendship. His confusion is exacerbated when, due to family circumstances, he's forced to stay with Ivy and her mother (Maryann Urbano) during his break from school. As the summer goes on, Ivy deals with her epilepsy and the slow, painful dissolution of her relationship, while Al starts to look for love in other directions. Bradley Rust Gray wrote and directed The Exploding Girl, while his wife, So Yong Kim, served as a producer. Fans of the Cure will recognize the title as a play on their song "The Exploding Boy," the flip side of "In Between Days," which was the title of Kim's directorial debut, on which Gray served as co-writer and producer. The Exploding Girl had its North American premiere at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival, where it was shown in the World Narrative Competition.

The Exploding Girl Hollywood film Review :
I don't like "movies" shot on video, and this one is no exception. Its semi-improvised dialog was also a barrier to appreciation, as well as the fledgling director's pretentious approach to photography.

Except for interiors, nearly all the barely-edited shots are long shots using very shallow focus - a technique I thought went out in the '60s. The cast's conversations are shot as if using a hidden camera (the hi-def RED camera is used here), from across the street with intervening cars or pedestrians frequently blocking the principals from our view. Add to that trebled protagonist Mark Rendall's speech impediment (I counted him stating the word "like" 25 times in less than a minute) and you have distancing of the viewer taken to the extreme.
Our heroine played OK enough by Zoe Kazan (she won a dubious Best Actress award from the lowliest of film festivals, the must-miss Tribeca event, which doesn't even take place in Tribeca anymore) remains a blank. She's an epileptic and sure enough, has too many beers, causing a seizure late in the film, but I didn't find that potential disability handled with any insight or relevance to the surrounding film. The story's emphasis on her also was a drag; it reminded me of that Golden Age of porno (now several decades back) when one sometimes experienced a horrific moment, usually during the second or third reel, of realization: "We're going to be stuck looking at this solitary girl for the whole movie!".
