Spain win World Cup after Iniesta's extra-time goal: Final Match Highlights.

Spain won the World Cup for the first time as an extra-time goal from Andres Iniesta gave them a last-gasp victory over the Netherlands in the final at Soccer City on Sunday night.
A game littered with no less than 13 yellow cards and one red was settled by a moment of magic by the Barcelona midfielder after being played in by substitute Cesc Fabregas.
His 116th minute strike was the goal all Spain and most neutrals were waiting for to spare both sides the agony of penalties.
The Dutch were down to 10 men after John Heitinga was shown red in the second half of extra time by referee Howard Webb for a foul on Iniesta.
What a joy especially when you see how we won it
--Andres Iniesta
"What a joy especially when you see how we won it.

"There aren't the words to describe what I am feeling. After my goal, I thought about my family and all the people who I love. But the victory is the fruit of a lot of work."

For the Spanish joy, but for the Dutch desolation as they were left to rue a pair of second half chances which fell to Arjen Robben.

The flying winger was sent clear by Wesley Sneijder, only to be denied by a superb save from Spain captain Iker Casillas, who stuck out a leg to send it wide.

Late in normal time he was also through and appeared to be pulled back by Spain defender Carles Puyol before Casillas saved at his feet.

Spain also had great chances in the second half with David Villa denied by the legs of Heitinga and Sergio Ramos heading over with the goal at his mercy.

In extra-time, Spain pressed forward with yet more urgency and Fabregas was put through by Iniesta only for Stekelenburg to deny him with a smart save.

With the game opening up, Joris Mathijsen was nearly an unlikely scorer for the Dutch while Spain substitute Jesus Navas saw his shot deflected into the side netting.

But in the second half of extra-time the goal chances dried up until Iniesta cropped up to score the winner.

Substitute Fernando Torres, who later pulled up in agony clutching his hamstring, played in the initial ball.

It was poorly cleared, falling to Fabregas, who sent a neat pass through to his teammate, who had cleverly stayed onside.

The Dutch angrily protested Webb should have awarded an earlier foul, but he waved the protests away and was soon signaling the
end of an eventful but hardly memorable final, marred by persistent fouling which broke up the natural rhythm of the game.

Watch Fresh News: It's a Girl for Kick Ass Actor and 43-Year-Old Fiancée

It's a Girl for Kick Ass Actor and 43-Year-Old Fiancée Sam Taylor-Wood and Aaron Johnson are now the proud parents of a baby girl.

Romance with Woman Twice His Age

"Kick Ass" actor Aaron Johnson and his fiancée Sam Taylor-Wood -- whose romance made headlines because of their 23-year age difference -- are now the proud parents of a baby girl.
Taylor-Wood, 43, a filmmaker and the 20-year-old British actor welcomed Wylda Rae to the world on Wednesday in London, their rep confirms to PEOPLE.
The couple, who met in 2009 on the set of her directorial debut, Nowhere Boy, raised eyebrows when they first stepped out together at a premiere earlier in the year. Taylor-Wood is already a mother of two from an 11-year marriage to art dealer Jay Jopling.
"I've got a wonderful woman," Johnson said in April. "I'm an old soul and she's a young soul."
Taylor-Wood also defended their age difference, telling Harper's Bazaar that judgment about their relationship is "totally sexist. I try to ignore it. I've made lots of big decisions in my life that have shocked people. I've never really thought of other people's opinions, so why start now?"
"It's just the outside world that feels they have to remark," she told the fashion magazine in its April issue. "And you can't listen to it."

Previews:
Netherlands will play Spain in the 2010 FIFA World Cup Final, the world’s greatest sporting event, which will be held at the Soccer City stadium in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday 11 July 2010. A European team is thus guaranteed to be world champions for the first time at a World Cup held outside Europe. There are two other firsts as well in this final. Neither team has previously won the World Cup, so there will be a new name on the trophy. And, perhaps more remarkably, these two teams have never played each other either in the World Cup or European Championship.

Netherlands So Far in the FIFA World Cup:

The Netherlands dumped the last South American team – Uruguay – out of the competition in the semi-finals and thus ensured a European victory. The result was popular throughout Africa after Uruguay became the most hated team on the continent for the way they knocked out Ghana in the previous round.
Netherlands did not though have this game all their own way. A wonder strike from Giovanni van Bronckhorst gave them an early lead but this was cancelled out just before half time by a long-range effort from Diego Forlan. But Uruguay looked like they were finally put to bed when the Dutch scored two goals in three minutes, the first a controversial goal by Wesley Sneijder due to suspicions of offside and the second a cracking header by Arjen Robben. Maximiliano Pereira pulled one back for Uruguay in injury time to set up a nervous few minutes for the Dutch, but they held out to win 3-2.
The Netherlands came from a goal behind to the mighty Brazil in the quarter finals to win 2-1. The Dutch had an easier Round of 16 match when they beat Slovakia 2-1 and were the first team to qualify from the group stage when they won their first two matches. Adding a third win gave them a 100 per cent record.

Spain So Far in the FIFA World Cup:
At one point during the first half of Spain’s quarter final against Germany, the growing grass was seriously vying for attention with the football for which was the more interesting. Thankfully, the game picked up in the second half culminating in a bullet of a header from Carles Puyol on seventy-three minutes to give the Spaniards their third 1-0 victory in a row in the knock-out stages of the World Cup.
Spain’s 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the quarter finals was as tight as it sounds, though it looked to have gone horribly wrong for them when Paraguay were awarded a penalty just before the hour mark. But Oscar Cardozo’s spot kick was saved by Iker Casillas and a minute later Spain were awarded a penalty of their own.
Spain looked to have taken the lead when Xabi Alonso fired in the resultant spot kick, but the referee applied the encroachment rule and Xabi Alonso’s second attempt was saved.
It took a ball hitting the post three times before going into the net for Spain to claim their victory seven minutes from time. Pedro’s initial shot bounced off the post to David Villa who’s own shot hit the same post, flew along the line and went into the goal off the opposite post.
Spain advanced to the quarter finals thanks to a 1-0 win over local neighbours Portugal in the Round of 16.
Spain started this tournament with a poor performance, losing the opening match 1-0 to Switzerland. They recovered their form in the second match when they strolled past the group’s weakest link Honduras 2-0 and then beat Chile 2-1.

Football Betting Odds For Netherlands vs Spain
Football betting tips: The bookmakers have Spain clear favourites to win this match in ninety minutes with almost all going for 11/10 so the few that have them at odds on should be avoided. For a Netherlands win, 5/2 and 11/4 are popular but 14/5 is available. Again for the draw, 9/4 and 11/5 are common but 23/10 is available.

FIFA World Cup 2010 Trivia

Netherlands are so far unbeaten, having won every match– not even a draw – but Spain did lose their opening group game. Should Spain win the final, the only unbeaten team in 2010 FIFA World Cup therefore will be New Zealand, who drew all three of their group games.

Military Dictatorship In the World:

Tags:

Military dictatorship | Constitutional state types | Military sociology | Civil–military relations | Political engineering by coup

A military dictatorship is a form of government where in the political power resides with the military. It is similar but not identical to a stratocracy, a state ruled directly by the military. Like any dictatorship, a military dictatorship may be official or unofficial, and as a result may not actually qualify as stratocratic. Mixed forms also exist, where the military exerts a very strong influence without being entirely dominant.
The typical military dictatorship in Latin America was ruled by a junta (derived from a Spanish word which can be translated as "conference" or "board"), or a committee composed of several officers, often from the military's most senior leadership, but in other cases less senior, as evidenced by the term colonels' regime, where the military leaders remained loyal to the previous regime. Other military dictatorships are entirely in the hands of a single officer, sometimes called a caudillo, usually the senior army commander. In either case, the chairman of the junta or the single commander may often personally assume office as head of state.
In the Middle East and Africa, military governments more often came to be led by a single powerful person, and were autocracies in addition to military dictatorships. Leaders like Idi Amin, Sani Abacha, Muammar al-Gaddafi, and Gamal Abdul Nasser worked to develop a personality cult and became the face of the nation inside and outside their countries.
Most military dictatorships are formed after a coup d'état has overthrown the previous government. One very different pattern was the one followed by Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq and Kim Il-sung's regime in North Korea, both of which began as one-party states, but over the course of their existence turned into military dictatorships as their leaders donned uniforms and the military became closely involved in the government.
Conversely, other military dictatorships may gradually restore significant components of civilian government while the senior military commander still maintains executive political power. In Pakistan, ruling Generals Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq (1977-1988) and Pervez Musharraf (1999-2008) have held singular referendums to elect themselves President of Pakistan for additional terms forbidden by the constitution.
In the past, military juntas have justified their rule as a way of bringing political stability for the nation or rescuing it from the threat of "dangerous ideologies". In Latin America the threat of communism was often used, while in the Middle East the desire to oppose Israel and later Islamic fundamentalism proved an important motivating pattern. Military regimes tend to portray themselves as non-partisan, as a "neutral" party that can provide interim leadership in times of turmoil, and also tend to portray civilian politicians as corrupt and ineffective. One of the almost universal characteristics of a military government is the institution of martial law or a permanent state of emergency.
Although there are exceptions, military regimes usually have little respect for human rights and use whatever means necessary to silence political opponents, who are viewed as opposing the army as enemies. A military regime is also rarely willing to leave power unless forced to by popular revolt, whether active or imminent.
Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East have been common areas for military dictatorships. One of the reasons for this is the fact that the military often has more cohesion and institutional structure than most of the civilian institutions of society.[citation needed]
Military dictatorships can be contrasted with other forms of dictatorship. For example, in most current and historical Communist states, the center of power rests among civilian party officials, and very careful measures (such as political commissars and frequent rotations) are taken to prevent the military from exercising independent authority.
Since the 1990s, military dictatorships have become less common. Reasons for this include the fact that military dictatorships no longer have much international legitimacy, as well as the fact that many militaries having unsuccessfully ruled many nations are now inclined not to become involved in political disputes. Furthermore, the end of the Cold War and the collapse of the Soviet Union made it more difficult for military regimes to use the threat of communism as justification for their actions, or to gain support from foreign sources.
As the Cold War began to wind down, in the Middle East, regimes such as those of Syria and Egypt that were once clearly military dictatorships have switched to other forms of despotism.

Current cases:

Burma Burma (Myanmar) - since the 1962 Burmese coup d'état resulted in Ne Win seizing power; currently the Tatmadaw (armed forces) still lead under the auspices of the State Peace and Development Council; the country was also briefly led by the military from 1958 to 1960.
Fiji Fiji - since the 2006 Fijian coup d'état; see also 1987 Fijian coups d'état and 2000 Fijian coup d'état.
Guinea Guinea - since the 2008 Guinean coup d'état resulting in Moussa Dadis Camara seizing power.
Libya Libya - since the 1969 Libyan coup d'état resulting in Muammar al-Gaddafi seizing power.
Niger Niger - since the 2010 Nigerien coup d'état.

Manuel Antonio Noriega Moreno (Spanish pronunciation: [maˈnwel noˈɾjeɣa]; born February 11, 1934) is a Panamanian politician and soldier. He was military dictator of Panama from 1983 to 1989
The 1989 invasion of Panama by the United States removed him from power; he was captured, detained as a prisoner of war, and flown to the United States. Noriega was tried on eight counts of drug trafficking, racketeering, and money laundering in April 1992. Noriega's U.S. prison sentence ended in September 2007; pending the outcome of extradition requests by both Panama and France, for convictions in absentia for murder in 1995 and money laundering in 1999, respectively. France was granted its extradition request in April 2010. He arrived in Paris on April 27, 2010, and after a re-trial as a condition of the extradition, he was found guilty and sentenced to seven years in jail in July 2010.
Career
Born in Panama City, Noriega was a career soldier, receiving much of his education at the Military School of Chorrillos in Lima, Peru. He also received intelligence and counterintelligence training at the School of the Americas at the U.S. Army base Fort Gulick in 1967, as well as a course in psychological operations (psyops) at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He was commissioned in the Panama National Guard in 1967 and promoted to lieutenant in 1968. It has been alleged[who?] that he was part of the military coup that removed Arnulfo Arias from power, although in Noriega's account of the 1968 coup, neither he nor his mentor Omar Torrijos were involved.[citation needed] In the power struggle that followed, including a failed coup attempt in 1969, Noriega supported Torrijos. He received a promotion to lieutenant colonel and was appointed chief of military intelligence by Torrijos. Noriega claims that, following Torrijos' instructions, he negotiated an amnesty for about 400 defeated guerrilla fighters, enabling them to return from exile in Honduras and Costa Rica.
Omar Torrijos was succeeded as Commander of the Panamanian National Guard by Colonel Florencio Flores Aguilar. One year later, Flores was succeeded by Rubén Darío Paredes, and Noriega became chief of staff. The Guard was renamed the Panamanian Defense Forces. Paredes resigned as Commander to run for the presidency. He ceded his post as Commander of the Forces to Noriega

Watch Online Special News Report Regarding South Africa’s History in the world Cup

South Africa’s History in the world Cup

Special Report:

There is no questioning that South Africa has amply prepared to host a spectacular and memorable extravaganza.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup coming to the continent symbolizes the great evolution of soccer in South Africa, from the vestiges of apartheid to where it is honoured and recognized as the country’s number-one sport.
Currently, South Africa has close to 2 million registered players, and millions more armchair enthusiasts who make up the highest television audiences and the greatest number of spectators, week after week. These are the measures of success. Since the united South African Football Association (SAFA) was formed in 1991, the beautiful game has made notable strides, establishing a strong infrastructure as a platform for the people’s passion for the game, and creating a country that can support the game from grassroots to the highest level in the world.

In only 12 years, South Africa has proven itself as a positive, contributing member of the global soccer body, entering teams in every South Africa reach far back into the 19th century.

In a way, the game within South Africa has been a reflection of reality and change on a broader social level, and as such, racial inequality was systematically enforced within the game’s official rules. South Africans played soccer in the way that they lived—separately. There was a “whites-only” Football Association of South Africa, later to be known as FASA, formed in 1892. Segregation permeated all aspects of life, including sport, as evidence in the SA Indian Football Association (SAIFA), the SA Bantu Football Association (SABFA) and the SA Coloured Football Association (SACFA), launched in 1903, 1933 and 1936 respectively.

With no shortage of acronyms, there was an Inter Race Soccer Board which did organize a few games between these racial associations during the 1940s, when there was no law against mixed sport, but any potential integration was killed by the introduction of formal apartheid laws in 1948.
The geography of South African soccer was set in stone, with whites playing in their own club structures, feeding the “whites-only” national team, and psychologically being geared towards Europe. Meanwhile, blacks were designated to somehow to play the game amongst themselves, without funding or facilities or support.

In 1958, FIFA officially recognized the white body, FASA, as the sole governing body of soccer in South Africa and the National Football League was launched in 1959 as the country’s first entirely professional club league. Originally, the league consisted of 12 clubs, and drew an audience of more than 500,000 spectators watched the league and cup matches—that number continuing to grow as the league matured.

Racial integration in sports was a stepping stone to the demise of apartheid in South Africa. On December 8, 1991, The South African Football Association was formed. The SAFA incorporated four distinct racially divided soccer units under its umbrella and the delegation was welcomed with a standing ovation when they attended the CAF Congress in Dakar, Senegal a month later. South Africa’s FIFA membership was confirm at their 1992 congress, with membership automatically following, bringing South Africa back up on the world stage. Five World Cups later, and they are the Host Country!

ALL OVER the world people are eyeing on the South Africa for the final game of World Cup Football 2010 between Spain vs Netherlands but the World's one of the most favorite for the football Brazil is in news for some other reason. Brazil's most popular football team goalkeeper surrendered to police in connection of his ex-girlfriend disappearance and possible murder.

Brazil's most popular football team Flamengo keeper Bruno Souza and a friend were ordered arrested while public prosecutors investigate their suspected involvement in the disappearance of his ex-girlfriend. Bruno Souza is famous as Bruno among his fans in Brazil.
Footballer Bruno Souza's 25-year-old ex-girlfriend model Eliza Samudio disappeared more than a month ago from a hotel in Rio de Janeiro. Model Eliza Samudio had a four-month-old baby and it is being claimed that Flamengo's former captain Bruno was the father.
Police have also arrested footballer’s wife, Dayane Souza. Bruno's arrest was ordered after his 17-year-old cousin testified he and Romao had kidnapped Eliza Samudio. According to the latest update, Brazil's most popular football team Flamengo has suspended Bruno Souza, who was captain last year when the squad clinched the Brazilian championship. Bruno has been with the club since 2006.

Brazilian goalkeeper Bruno Souza, who plays for the country's most popular soccer club Flamengo, arrives at a prison wearing a red prison uniform in Belo Horizonte July 9, 2010. Souza on Wednesday surrendered to police probing the disappearance and possible murder of his ex-girlfriend, in a case that transfixed the soccer-crazed country.
RIO DE JANEIRO — It takes quite a saga to push the World Cup off the front pages in Brazil, but such is the gruesome story of a goalkeeper accused of ordering the murder of his ex-lover whose body parts were then fed to the dogs.
At the center of the dark drama is Bruno Souza, a star goalkeeper and captain of defending club champion Flamengo, who surrendered to police Wednesday to face questioning in connection with the disappearance and suspected death of Eliza Samudio.
The story of the married 25-year-old player known simply as Bruno has stunned this soccer-mad nation, where police held a press conference Thursday to lay out the horrific crimes and Souza's bloody role in them.
"An idol like Bruno, from such a major team, is a monster for what he has done to this girl," said Minas Gerais state police commissioner Edson Moreira, one of the officials leading the investigation.
"The crime was coldly planned and executed. We can conclude that Eliza is dead."
Among the macabre details divulged by police: they believe Bruno was in a home near Belo Horizonte home with Samudio last month at the time of her murder, and that her body was later cut into pieces, some of which were fed to dogs in a bid to cover the murder.
When Bruno was transferred from Rio de Janeiro to a police station late Thursday in the city of Belo Horizonte, he was met with cries of "murderer!" from a crowd of onlookers, O Globo reported on its website.
Samudio was described by the newspaper as "a student, model and pornographic film actress."
She was also the mother of a four-month-old baby and reportedly had sought to establish that Bruno was the child's father.
Samudio's body has not been found, but Bruno's 17-year-old cousin, who acknowledged helping in her abduction, claimed in a lengthy deposition to police that the woman was strangled, officials said.
The cousin also claimed to have heard Bruno tell associates to "solve the problem" with Samudio.
According to investigators, she was strangled by a former police officer, Marcos Aparecido dos Santos.
Another one of Bruno's cousins said in his deposition that Santos committed "barbaric tortures" against Samudio, and that music was blared from her locked room so that neighbors could not hear her screams, according to the Estado de Sao Paulo newspaper.
The victim had begged Santos to stop abusing her, saying she could no longer bear it, according to O Estado, citing the deposition.
"You are not going to bear it anymore," Santos replied. "You are going to die."
Both papers reported that Santos fed some of her remains to the Rottweiler dogs kept at the house.
Samudio met Bruno in 2009 at the home of a Flamengo teammate, according to Istoe magazine. In October, when she was five months pregnant, she reportedly filed a complaint against Bruno, saying he kidnapped and beat her and tried to force her to swallow abortion-inducing medication.
In June, Samudio met Bruno near Belo Horizonte, apparently thinking the two were going to reach an agreement for care of the baby. It was June 7, the last time a friend saw her alive.
Moreira said Thursday that police determined from the evidence that Bruno remained with Samudio until her death.
"He was with her. This is the conclusion we reached," he said.
Authorities said they ordered the detention of Bruno's wife, Dayana Rodrigues, who was found with Samudio's baby.
For his part, Bruno recently told radio Globo that he had a "clear conscience" about Samudio's disappearance.
"In the future, I'll laugh about all of this," he said.
But in a brief Globo video clip of him discussing his future with police, he sounded somber about his future.

World Cup 2010 finals: Paul, the octopus Vs Mani, the parrot

fifa world cup 2010, finals, spain vs netherlands, holland, paul psychic octopus, parrot, predictions, germany, singapore,Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2010, finals between Spain and Netherlands (Holland), Paul, the psychic Octopus, and Parrot Mani make contradicting predictions,

Bangalore, Jul 10: Looks like there is some competition for Paul, the octopus, as a parakeet in Singapore has taken a large bite into the psychic limelight by predicting that Netherlands (Holland) will win the FIFA World Cup 2010.
Mani, the parakeet's prediction came hours before the world-famous psychic Paul's prediction on Friday, Jul 9. The octopus who resides at Sea Life in Germany's Oberhausen prophesied that Spain will be winning their maiden World Cup title in 2010.
However, Mani seemed to believe that it is going to be the Dutch, who will be grabbing their first World Cup trophy. The fact that the parrot's prediction was contrary to the prophesy of the octopus, that had gained massive credibility over its past predictions, seemed to be fueling Mani's say to the media headlines.
According to Mani's master, Mr Muniyappan, the psychic Parakeet, like Paul, has a spotless record of accuracy. The parrot had reportedly picked up the right winners during the quarter finals and also favoured Spain over Germany in the semi-final tie.
