Carnahan and the Scott brothers say they will use the original premise of the series as the template for an action film. In the original, four Vietnam vets convicted of armed robbery escape from military prison and became do-gooder mercenaries.
The Middle East will replace Vietnam as the place the four did their tour of duty, but Carnahan said the origin story is the jumping-off point.
The original series, which ran from 1983-87 and starred George Peppard, Mr. T, Dirk Benedict and Dwight Schultz, followed an unofficial team of Vietnam vets who will stop at nothing to get the bad guys. Sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, these four commandos escaped from a maximum-security stockade and now survive in the Los Angeles underground as soldiers of fortune.
Stephen J. Cannell, who created the show, will produce the movie with Jules Daly, Ridley Scott, with Tony Scott executive producing through their Scott Free banner.
Also producing are and Stephen J. Cannell, the latter of whom created the original TV series.

The Karate Kid Synopsis :

Movie Reviews :
I attended the premiere last night. I was a big fan of the first, so I knew this could never live up to it - I still enjoyed it.



The Kings of Mykonos clearly had a higher budget than the original, but a lot of charm was lost in this. The plot revolves around Steve & Frank heading to Mykonos to claim an inheritance from a long lost relative and the predictable hi-jinx ensue.



I don't think anyone was expecting an Oscar quality movie here, and it won't exceed those expectations. There are still sufficient laughs to be had, but it is certainly not the laugh-out-loud-only-in-Australia humour of the original Wog Boy.
Nick G & Vince C are starting to show their ages, but it works in the context of the film.


The two female leads are absolutely stunning in any language but you never quite buy the chemistry on screen. Kevin Sorbo has an amusing role as the King of Mykonos, and Alex Dimitriades's Mihali character had so much potential but barely has a line in the film considering the pivotal role.
The ending of the film was confusing and abrupt and I'm not quite sure what was supposed to go on there. It might be worthwhile waiting for the DVD version to see if there was an alternate ending. I also read that there was a sex scene filmed, but this certainly wasn't in the edit I saw last night.
All in all, I recommend it - particularly if you enjoyed the music and oh-so-Melbourne "wogginess" of the original. The scenery is breathtaking which is a nice change for the film. Don't have exceedingly high expectations and you won't be disappointed.

I think Australian movies are fantastic. I loved this movie. It was Aussie and funny and my opinion is that anything Brendan Cowell is in is going to be good. People seem so used to these polished over American movies that we're fed that they forget we have a fantastic, under-appreciated film industry right here in Australia. And then they complain and say Aussie movies aren't funny because they're waiting for the canned laughter to show them when it's funny. Personally, I couldn't stop laughing! I loved the humour, I loved the random cameos (Angus Sampson was hilarious, as always), and Brendan Cowell was so ditzy and open that you couldn't help but laugh. Loved it!



Many Australian cultural males like I would probably enjoy this film I recommend every male take his girlfriend to thisAlthough movie is classified as a Romantic Comedy there certainly wasn't any Hugh Grant style head over heals Romance between Alice and Jim shown, in contrast we see the suburban after honeymoon phase a static couple living together. Jim his biggest challenge in life is showing loving affection to Alice, Alice now 3 years older longs for more from a partner and decides to move on, we follow Jim and Alice in their separate ways and the emotions they feel along the way.The movie is more about the mateship between the male leads Jim & Charlie and long term mateship between Jim & Blake. What we are shown the 'first date' between Jim & Alice and their static routine 3 years later, what romance bonded them is never directly shown in the movie, however a spiritual trusting connection is evident.This film shows how important good mates are in a mans relationship life, A mans motive for lack of commitment or expression of emotion is not always represent his true feelings. Past events, traumatic experiences or lack of experience can limit a males ability to move a relationship forward (culturally males generally don't share this or ask for help) and Blake, even the Guy who appears to holding you back, can actually be your most loyal and generous friend.
