The Avengers Won't Feature Hawkeye's Purple Costume
September 15th, 2010

MTV Splash Page recently spoke with Jeremy Renner, who was promoting his new movie The Town, and he gave the site a few updates on The Avengers. He will play Hawkeye in the new movie and here's an excerpt from the site where he addresses the Hawkeye costume:

"I think it's going to be a little more reality-based. You can kind of tell with Scarlett Johansson's character [in Iron Man 2], it's going to be more of a uniform... and not a big purple, comics sort of thing."

According to Renner, it's that decision to stray from the classic look that's helped the Marvel movies connect with mainstream audiences.

"That's why I think it's more palatable to audiences - there's almost a sense of reality to these superheroes. That's what makes it interesting to me, anyway."

Renner also hinted at a possible relationship between his Hawkeye character and Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow:

"We will [have a relationship], I think, in this one as well. We're kind of a team, and what that relationship is, is still to be discovered."

The Avengers comes to theaters May 4th, 2012 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, Don Cheadle, Clark Gregg, Tom Hiddleston. The film is directed by Joss Whedon.

Deadliest Warrior Movie Coming from Paramount
September 15th, 2010

Paramount Pictures announced today it has made a deal for Shawn Levy's 21 Laps Entertainment to do a big-screen adaptation of sister company Spike TV's original hit series Deadliest Warrior. The announcement comes on the heels of the show's Season 2 finale, which brought about exceptional ratings for the network. Spike TV has renewed the series for a third season.

This partnership by Paramount and Spike TV marks the first time that the Viacom owned companies have worked together. "Spike has some of the most innovative and forward-thinking content on television today, Deadliest Warrior being no exception. The property has proven its ability to engage audiences across multiple platforms," said Paramount Film Group President Adam Goodman. "We hope this is the first of much future collaboration with Spike."

Deadliest Warrior pits history's greatest warriors against one another to determine who reigns supreme. Along with the use of 21st century science and the latest in CGI technology, the series enlists world-class fighters, historians and weapons experts to provide insight into the unique history and style of these combatants which culminates in a head-to-head final fight between two warriors to declare which one would have been the deadliest. The first two seasons showed such memorable battles as Spartan vs. Ninja, Viking vs. Samurai, Pirate vs. Knight, Yakuza vs. Mafia and Comanche vs. Mongol.

The film's storyline is being kept under wraps.

Shawn Levy and 21 Laps President Dan Levine will produce the film, with the possibility that Levy may direct. The property fits within Levy and 21 Laps' ongoing expansion from family comedies to event action movies, following the Night at the Museum franchise and Levy's current action drama Real Steel with Hugh Jackman for DreamWorks.

Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee, the first mistress of Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James who came out of the closet,

Michelle McGee kicked out of MTVVMA party
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 17:12 [IST]

New York (ANI): Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee, the first mistress of Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James who came out of the closet, was asked to leave an MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) party due to her Nazi symbol tattoos.

McGee has a swastika tattooed on her stomach and the letters 'W' and 'P' on the back of her legs reportedly for 'white power', of which McGee claims the initials have a sexual meaning, not a racist one. She has denied that she is a Nazi or a racist, reports Fox News.

Insiders at a pre-VMAs party said that the 24-year-old stripper crashed the high-profile party, which was held at a private Beverly Hills residence over the weekend, and made sure to take advantage of the freebies on offer. “Michelle was not smiling and stayed to herself, she almost had a snobby attitude. She was strutting around, acting all annoyed because she wasn’t getting any attention,” the New York Post quoted her as saying.

“But when the bar opened she made sure to be one of the first in line. She was one of the first guests to arrive and people were making comments about how she was there. People were very stunned by her presence and slightly uncomfortable,” added the source.

And guests became so uncomfortable with her Nazi symbol tattoos that many people complained to the party coordinators, who eventually had security escort her out. And while she did not cause a scene, it seems she was pretty peeved. “Michelle was hopping mad, and not happy by the situation. It was obvious that she was aware why she wasn’t welcome," said the source.

In his upcoming movie Stone, the famous American actor plays the role of a jail inmate.

Edward Norton gets a new hairstyle
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 12:31 [IST]

Edward Norton is well known for researching his roles to the last detail. In his upcoming movie Stone, the famous American actor plays the role of a jail inmate. He wanted to give a real look to his character so he went for a new hairstyle. The new thriller Stone is based on a prisoner (played by Norton), who tries to fool his parole officer (Robert DeNiro).

The actor wanted to portray his role perfectly so he decided to get a new hairstyle for the look. Most of the US prisoners sport cornrows hairstyle, which is a series of thin braided hair running down the scalp. This hairstyle is very easy to maintain so it is a huge hit among the jail inmates.

Edward told the reporters, “First off the cornrows were real. But there weren’t any hairstylists in Hollywood who could do cornrows properly, so we found a lady called Crystal from Detroit who does a nice clean set of rows.”

The 41-year old actor said that he really enjoyed researching for his role because it gave him time to find out the inner workings of the mind of convicts. He said “Just the couple of weeks I got to sit around in this prison and talk to these guys who are imprisoned, it was a revelation for me, and it was a hugely memorable experience. I love that part every time.”

Michelle Williams strips out of clothes faster than anyone
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 15:52 [IST]

Sydney (ANI): actress Michelle Williams has claimed that she can strip out of her clothes faster than anyone else. The 30-year-old actress initially struggled to find acting work until landing her role as Jen Lindley in TV show ‘Dawson's Creek’ in 1997.

However, she has claimed that the number of auditions she used to go on left her with the unexpected skill. "I was so lucky to get Dawson's Creek. I was auditioning for pilots twice a day. You get used to a rhythm of rejection. But auditioning taught me to change my clothes really fast,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted her as saying.

“To this day I can get in and out of my bra and panties faster than anyone," she said. Williams has put her stripping skills to the test for numerous movie roles, but isn't sure why she has bared her body on screen so many times because she isn't completely happy with her figure.

"I have the usual self-loathing and body issues, and yet I seem to be naked in a lot of movies. The nudity has to end somewhere. It would be really nice if the pictures did not get posted online. But then maybe that's a reason to do it - just get naked, and who cares if it ends up on the internet," she told W magazine.

Nicolas Cage a woman abuser?
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 15:50 [IST]

The Oscar winning actor Nicolas Cage has recently lost a huge chunk of his multi-million dollar empire that has left him bankrupt. The actor is doing all types of roles and saying ‘yes’ to every movie that comes his way. Recent reports suggest that Nicolas cage is not only bad with money; the guy is bad with women too.

In a recent turn of events the mother of Cage’s 19-year old son accused him of emotional and physical abuse. The case will go on trial unless Cage can solve his dispute with baby mama Christina Fulton by January 15, 2011. Well the last thing that Cage would want in his hands is another lawsuit since that might drain away last nickels and dimes out of his shallow pockets.

The $13million lawsuit was filed last December and it claimed that Christina put her acting career on hold to take care of the couple’s son Weston. Fulton said that Nicolas was never there for parenting duties and Christina had to take all the responsibilities.

Fulton accused Cage of abusing her physically, mentally and emotionally on numerous occasions. Although Christina did not divulge any details on the abusive nature of the relationship, it seems that Cage is in deep trouble right now.

London (ANI): Kinky Carmen Electra has confessed that she is a ‘bondage girl’ and enjoys playing with sex toys. The former Baywatch babe is designing her own line of sex toys and marital aids. And Electra says she is the perfect woman for the job because she loves playing with them.

"It's very naughty. I love lingerie and I love sex toys and the whole idea of them. We all do,” the Sun quoted her as saying. "I'm a bondage girl myself. I like to be in control sometimes as the dominatrix. But then it's fun to be submissive as well. I can play both parts,” she added.

The 38-year-old actress found fame as sexy lifeguard Lani McKenzie on TV's Baywatch in the late 1990s.

Up-coming role in both Thor and The Avengers, as well as the status of Iron Man 3, which villain he'd like to see appear in The Avengers,

EXCLUSIVE: Clark Gregg Talks Iron Man 3, The Avengers and Thor!
September 15th, 2010

Clark Gregg, who plays S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson discusses his character's expanding role in the Marvel film universe

Although actor Clark Gregg starred opposite Emmy winner Julia Louis-Dreyfus for five seasons on the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine, directed the critically acclaimed film Choke starring Sam Rockwell, wrote the hit film What Lies Beneath starring Harrison Ford and made over fifty film and television appearances, it wasn't until he appeared in the phenomenally successful Marvel movie Iron Man, as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson, that he became a household name to fan boys around the world. Gregg returned to the role, which is original to the films and was not based on a character from the comics, earlier this year in Iron Man 2 and fans that stayed until after the credits discovered Agent Coulson is going to have a big role in next summer's Thor as well. In fact, Gregg himself was surprised when he arrived at Comic-Con in San Diego this year, and was introduced as a cast member of Joss Whedon's The Avengers, cementing his character's importance in the newly established Marvel film Universe.

We recently had a chance to sit down and speak with Clark Gregg while he was out promoting the Iron Man 2 DVD and Blu-ray, which will be in stores on September 28th. The actor talked candidly with us about his up-coming role in both Thor and The Avengers, as well as the status of Iron Man 3, which villain he'd like to see appear in The Avengers, the inclusion of more S.H.I.E.L.D. characters from the comics and when we are going to see Agent Coulson and Nick fury finally kick some ass on screen. Here is what he had to say:

Can you describe your character's role in "Thor?" Does it basically pick up right where "Iron Man 2" left off with Agent Coulson finding Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) in the desert?

Clark Gregg: Yeah, I can only say really little without suddenly being incinerated by the Marvel spy satellite but I think its clear from the secret scene at the end of Iron Man 2 that a hammer has shown up in New Mexico and Agent Coulson has been detailed to figure out what that's about and to see if anybody ... Donald Blake ... anybody might be there. I think Nick Fury is pretty busy so it's pretty much Agent Coulson's chance to go take care of this hammer thing. I don't think any one would have stationed Agent Coulson there without Nick Fury if they knew how nuts it was about to get.

Can you talk about the tone of the film and how director Kenneth Branagh was able to balance the magical world of Asgard and the Gods with the realistic Marvel universe that has already been established in "The Incredible Hulk" and the two "Iron Man" movies?

Clark Gregg: That is certainly part of the unbelievably complex job that Kenneth Branagh, Kevin Feige and the Marvel guys had. Its one thing to introduce the world of Tony Stark where everything's almost technologically doable and very realistic, which is what has always been really cool about Iron Man, and then start a whole other movie that is connected to it that is very different like Thor, the god of thunder with his hammer mjoinir and Asgard, an alternate universe dimension. It's really kind of gutsy of them to go there next and at the same time have it feel like a world where Agent Coulson can move into and it doesn't feel forced. It's certainly what I was most nervous about going into it so when I saw footage at Comic-Con with everybody else I was really relieved and happy to see that it looks like it works.

Have you had a chance to read the script for "The Avengers" yet?

Clark Gregg:The Avengers? I just finished the script. Want to know what's in there? .... They've never shown me a script! Are you kidding me? I probably won't ever get the script. I'll get my pages but that's it. It's a top-secret universe.

Do you know when shooting on the film might begin?

Clark Gregg: No. I read online that we begin shooting in February but I don't know? That's what I read. I have to call and find out if that's true.

What do you think it is going to be like on the set working with an all-star cast of A-list actors such as Robert Downey Jr., Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson?

Clark Gregg: I don't know? It's going to be fireworks. That's a lot of divas. No, I don't think that. It's actually, as far as I can tell, a nice bunch of people. That's what's been cool so far is that you get to work with a kind of caliber of actor in these Marvel films that I didn't grow up associating with Super Hero movies. Also, everybody seems to be having a good time so it's really kind of a pleasant place to work in. There is also something about, even though there is a real reverence about the fan base and wanting to make sure the fans are thrilled by what we and what Marvel comes up with for this, at the same time it's a comic book movie. There's a real sense of humor and an irony. I think in a way it allows people to take chances with their performances and that makes it a good gig.

Clark, since you are a self-admitted comic book fan from your youth, which villain from the Marvel Universe would you like to see "The Avengers" face in the upcoming film?

Clark Gregg: You know, this might not be a fan-friendly answer by I would like to see the red herring version of it where you think it's Dr. Doom or Loki, somebody like that and maybe they're connected to it but that it takes it in a really surprising direction. That maybe it's somebody that we've never met before, I think to create a villain substantial enough to have brought those characters together. I think it's got to be something kind of mind-bending, something kind of universal.

While the characters of Agent Coulson and Nick Fury have been seen in both "Iron Man" and "Iron Man 2" they were relegated to mostly just explaining the Marvel Universe to Tony Stark. So can fans expect to see you and Sam Jackson's characters finally kicking some ass in "The Avengers" and the following sequels?

Clark Gregg: I hope so. I've been training so hard to actually look plausibly at my age like I could kick some ass. I think all of that gets revved up in The Avengers. So not having seen a word of what Joss has written I got to assume that there is going to be some of that there.

Agent Coulson might be Nick Fury's right-hand-man in the Marvel film universe but in the comic books he is aided by popular heroes like Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan, Sharon Carter (Agent 13) and Maria Hill, do you think that any of those characters could possibly be making appearances in the upcoming films?

Clark Gregg: I wish I knew. I have a feeling that one or more of those S.H.E.I.L.D. characters are going to make an appearance somewhere.

Finally, what is the status on "Iron Man 3" and is it true that the film will probably not begin shooting until after "The Avengers" has finished production?

Clark Gregg: You know I can tell you but I'll probably be referring to the same Internet source as before. But yes, that's what I hear.

“The Bliebers, they threatened to kill me. I really got death threats, it was insane. But he told them to back off and they did. I think it was all like a joke," News.com.au quoted her as saying. The pair had been appearing in a secret shoot when images of them together emerged, sparking rumours they were an item. However, Kim, 29, thinks it is ‘ridiculous’ people thought she could have been dating the 16-year-old singer.

She added in an interview on British station Radio 1: "Is that not ridiculous that people thought that Justin Bieber and I were on vacation together, on a romantic vacation, in the Bahamas and I just happened to wear a gown as my swimsuit, and red lips and he's dressed in a suit in the ocean? There's another shot where I was wearing a full trench coat with lingerie on underneath, thigh highs and heels walking to the beach. Seriously, who would walk to the beach like that?"

London, (ANI): Actor Ben Affleck has revealed that he wasn't worried when he had to film sex scenes with Blake Lively and Rebecca Hall in his new movie The Town. The Hollywood star gets steamy with both actresses in his directorial film but insisted it was easy.

"I wasn't too worried about it. Blake was actually more mature about it than I was, she was like, 'So what happens?’” the Mirror quoted him as speaking at the Toronto International Film Festival.

"We just figured out blocking and choreography and boom boom, we knew it was a bit tawdry and depressing and sad and by the same token it was a bit graphic and Blake just nailed it. It was easy as they come. For Rebecca, same thing, I would have been embarrassed to be embarrassed at that point, we knew each other really well. It wasn't really pornographic. It''s things you do just living, it happens all the time. It does though!" he added.

Bangalore, Sep 15: CID moved to Supreme Court after facing lots of problems in investigating Nithyananda's sex scandal case as High Court ordered in an early petition to complete the inquiry within four weeks from Jul 17, 2010.

"We are in trouble," said a CID official and added, "If the SC fails to come to our help, we are going to be embarrassed."

CID has alleged Nithyananda, who is now out on bail after serving a jail term as an undertrial, in the case under sections 376, 377, 506, and 295 (A) respectively, for rape, having unnatural sex, threatening to kill and hurting religious sentiments.

However, CID didn't have a concrete case against the accused except a police complaint filed by Lenin Kurpuppan, an estranged disciple, who accused Nithyananda of having sex with a male disciple.

On the other side, the counsel of the accused has pleaded the court for quashing the charges.

Danny Boyle film 127 Hours wows critics in Toronto
15 September 2010 Last updated at 15:01 GMT

Director Danny Boyle's follow-up to the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire has received positive reviews, amid reports it caused some people to faint.

The movie, 127 Hours, recalls the true story of Aron Ralston who was forced to amputate his own arm after getting it trapped whilst out climbing.

Tom Charity wrote in Time Out magazine that the film is "simply unmissable".

However, it is thought the amputation scene caused some discomfort for some at the Toronto Film Festival.

It shows Mr Ralston breaking his arm and using a blunt knife to cut through his flesh.

Computer-generated shots are used to take the audience under the skin, where the blade can be seen knocking against the bone.

John Foote, critic for film industry website The Wrap, said: "The sequence is never gratuitous, just very realistic, gruesomely so, and because we have grown to care so much about the character, all the more unsettling and raw.

"I cannot remember a reaction to a film like this in a very long time, perhaps not since The Exorcist sent audiences scurrying for the doors (though much of that was later said to be a publicity stunt)."

The Independent's Kaleem Aftab said: "It is the only scene from which viewers might wish to avert their eyes."

But he added that the film would help cement Boyle's place as "one of the best British directors working today".

The adventurer, who is played by Spider-Man actor James Franco, survived his ordeal despite having to climb down a 65ft wall after the amputation and hike for miles to get help.

Time Out's Tom Charity added that the whole movie is a "total rush, building towards a wrenching climax you won't soon forget".

The meeting ended with agreement to send a fact-finding team to the region.

Kashmir crisis talks end without concrete agreement
15 September 2010 Last updated at 14:46 GMT

Talks chaired by Indian PM Manmohan Singh over ongoing violence in Kashmir have concluded as police shot dead four more demonstrators.

The meeting ended with agreement to send a fact-finding team to the region.

But there was little headway made over whether or not to lift 20-year-old emergency laws that shield Indian forces from prosecution.

Nearly 100 protesters have died in anti-India protests since June and the entire Kashmir Valley is under curfew.
Nearly all of those killed were shot dead by government forces.

The prime minister told Wednesday's meeting at his home in the Indian capital, Delhi: "The only path for lasting peace and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir is through dialogue and discussion.

"We are ready for dialogue with anybody or any group that does not espouse or practise violence."
He added: "I was shocked and distressed to see young men and women - even children - joining the protests on the streets."

A BBC correspondent in Delhi says there is a sense of confusion among politicians - and no consensus about how to respond to the unrest.

The main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the main regional parties from Kashmir, among others, attended the talks.

The negotiations concluded with the commitment to send the fact-finding mission and by stating that the Indian constitution "provides ample scope to accommodate any legitimate political demand through dialogue, civil discourse and peaceful negotiations".

No date was given for the mission's visit, however, and there were few details as to its remit, other than an order to meet different sections of the population and gather all shades of opinion.

Separatist leaders dismissed the gathering as a public relations ploy.

"The meeting is a cosmetic and half-hearted measure," said Mirwaiz Umar Farooq. "Our focus continues to be on the bigger issue of resolving the Kashmir dispute."

Christian school

Meanwhile, at least 12 people were injured in addition to the four killed in clashes on Wednesday in the town of Mendhar.

Several hundred protesters were demonstrating over alleged Koran desecrations in the US and were marching towards a Christian missionary school.

"We had to open fire to quell the mob that was marching towards the missionary school with intent of setting it ablaze," a police spokesman told the BBC.

He said that at least six government buildings had been set on fire.

A Christian school in the valley was burnt down by protesters on Monday, the worst day of violence so far this summer when police shot dead 18 civilians.

The BBC's Altaf Hussain in Srinagar says that the targeting of Christian institutions is highly unusual, because there has been little inter-communal violence in Indian-administered Kashmir in recent years.

Many analysts see the recent protests as the biggest challenge to Indian rule in Kashmir for two decades.

The Kashmir dispute has been the cause of major tension between India and Pakistan for six decades.

The BBC's Lizo Mzimba: ''He actually seemed shocked''

GeorgeMichael has been given an eight-week sentence for crashing his car while under the influence of cannabis.

He was also fined £1,250 at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court in London and given a five-year driving ban.

The 47-year-old singer was arrested in July in Hampstead, north London after driving his Range Rover into a branch of photographic store Snappy Snaps.

Last month he pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis.

The singer was told then that his offences were "a serious matter" and that he could face imprisonment.

Michael will serve four weeks in prison, with the rest of his sentence spent out on licence under the supervision of the probation service.

The pop star was greeted by a horde of photographers as he arrived at court earlier.

In 2007 he admitted another charge of driving while unfit through use of drugs at Brent Magistrates Court in London.

Michael was found slumped at the wheel of his car in the early hours of 4 July having crashed it into the store frontage.

He was arrested and taken to Hampstead police station, where he was found to be carrying cannabis cigarettes.

Michael shot to fame as half of pop duo Wham! before embarking on a successful career as a solo artist.

The singer - whose real name is Georgios Panayiotou - has made no secret of his long-time use of cannabis.

The BBC's Lizo Mzimba was in court and said Michael had "gasped" when his sentence was passed down.

Earlier his barrister said the singer was trying to get his life back on track and had started writing new material.

"For the first time in many years he has started writing again," said Mukul Chawla QC. "His creativity, so long hampered by his drug dependence, is re-emerging."

District Judge John Perkins told the singer he had taken a "dangerous and unpredictable mix" of prescription drugs and cannabis.

"I accept entirely that you have shown remorse for the offence, that you are ashamed of it, that you admitted it," he added.

"With regret," however, he said he had no alternative in this case but to give him a custodial sentence.

"It does not appear that you took proper steps to deal with what is clearly an addiction to cannabis," he told the singer.

Jennifer Grey takes inspiration from Patrick Swayze

Patrick Swayze the legendary actor was one of the foremost supporters for ‘Dancing with the Stars’. One year after the death of her Dirty Dancing costar Jennifer Grey fondly remembered her talented co star. Jennifer Grey is going to be a part of the dance reality TV show as it makes its way into Season 11.

In a recent interview, Grey said, “Patrick was one of the most fearless people I’ve ever met.” Patrick lost his battle with pancreatic cancer in September 14, 2009. Jennifer revealed that she was herself diagnosed with an early stage of cancer about a year back but now she is in perfect shape.

“When I first decided to consider doing the show, I went to get my neck checked,” said the star, she was referring to a neck injury caused by a nasty car accident in 1987. The actress explained that her surgeons noticed a lump in her neck and decided to remove it. After a half of the tumor was removed it was found to be cancerous in nature, so the doctors decided to remove the entire tumorous growth.

Jennifer, who has joined the small group of cancer survivors, said that Patrick was a beacon of hope even when he was dealing with the dangers of pancreatic cancer. Jennifer claims that Swayze's fight has inspired her to compete at 'Dancing with the Stars'. Let’s hop

Salman Khan seems to have monopolized the festive Eid week for his releases.

Salman enjoys monopoly on Eid weekend

By: Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama

Like Aamir Khan seems to have a monopoly on the Christmas weekend, Salman Khan seems to have monopolized the festive Eid week for his releases. It's a known fact that Aamir has released his films in the Christmas weekend - Taare Zameen Par [2007], Ghajini [2008] and 3 Idiots [2009] - and the results are astounding.
Similarly, Salman has been lucky during Eid, with both Wanted [2009] and Dabangg [2010] proving mega-hits. Now, Salman and his producers have decided to continue with the trend of releasing the actor's new films on the festive occasion of Eid.

Although Salman's brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri hasn't started shooting his next venture My Love Story [remake of the Malayalam hit Bodyguard], he has already decided to bring the film in Eid [2011]. Prior to that Salman will have one more film hitting the screens - Bhushan Kumar's Ready, directed by Anees Bazmee and co-starring Asin. "We will release Ready in Summer 2011," Bhushan states.

The show ‘Pratigya’ on Star Plus has given Pooja's fame a whole new dimension.

A conversation with Pooja Gor aka Pratigya
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 12:16 [IST]

Pooja Gor might not be known by everyone, but Pratigya is someone that each and every person these days can identify. The show ‘Pratigya’ on Star Plus has given Pooja's fame a whole new dimension. We caught up with the hottest new name in tele-town and got her to share a few thoughts.

Pratigya is a strong character, is Pooja the same in real life?

Pooja in real life is not like Pratigya. There are many differences and similarities between my onscreen and off screen persona. Pooja is very lazy at times, a total chatterbox who enjoys life to the fullest, a happy go lucky person, bold yet kiddish. Obviously, that is not how Pratigya behaves. But once I get into the character of Pratigya, I totally get into it. I get the maturity and strength to deal with different situations, and I think this happens just because I believe in the character. I never ever simply essay a character; I live it. And that is the reason why people are so convinced with the role. I honestly follow the morals and principals of Pratigya.

How you were approached for the role of Pratigya?

Ekta Kapoor has chosen me at first for ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ through a social networking site and that became my first ever debut on television. After that, I did a few cameos, followed by ‘Pratigya’ which became my calling card.

Every actor has to go through the "struggling" phase in his or her life. Have you faced such hardships till now?

By god’s grace, I have not at all faced any hard ship in my acting career so far. I have never sat home with depression without any work. I started working with "Kitani…" on 16th December 2008 and it came to an end by September 2009; immediately after which, in October 2009, I started working for ‘Pratigya’. So, touch wood, so far I haven't experienced any down time in acting.

Why acting as a career and nothing else?

Actually, I was never decided upon what to do in my life. I had no ambition in my life till I was in 10th standard. Someday I used to think I want to be a doctor, someday a lawyer, and some days I even wanted to become a teacher. But since my childhood I have always dreamt about being a branch manager of Axis Bank. (Yeah, that's a long story). But life took a turn and I was tipped by Ekta Kapoor on a social networking site to become an actor. So how can I reject goddess Laxmi that had come to my doorstep?

‘Pratigya’ is doing well these days. Did you ever think the show would reach these heights one day?

Yes, I had a feeling that this show would do really well right from the time I met the producer, Pearl, for the first time. I was highly impressed by her confidence in the show. And the most important thing was the concept of the show. It was the first time on Indian television such kind of story was taken up. Now, looking back, I can happily say that my gut feeling was so true.
Whom will you credit for the success of show? How will you rate yourself as an actor?

Daily soap is team work. I will give credit to all those who have supported and contributed to the show; including the writers, the creative team, the producers, the crew that works relentlessly day in and day out. And when it comes to rate me from 1 to 10, I think 8 is the best one for me because still I have to learn many things in my life. This is just a start.

Who is your role model in acting?

Priyanka Chopra; I am a big fan of hers. I admire the way she carries herself; her style, her charm. And the most important thing is that the way she loves her dad. I think we both share the same story and I can relate to her. I want to be like her one day.

How is your experience with your co actors?

I don’t mix with any one. On set, I am by myself. I come on time, get into my green room, do my make up, when any one calls me for the shot, I go and deliver my best after which, again I come back to my room. But yes, after working for so many years, we all are quite comfortable with each other.

What is your final goal to achieve?

I have a very crucial aim to achieve, but I can’t reveal it now. You will come to know as I fulfill it. But I think this just my start and I am in a learning process, still I have to grow and apply what I have learned so far. Miles to go ahead. Still many things are pending in life. I have just turned 19 now, so the journey has just begun.

Message to your audience!

Keep loving and watching 'Pratigya' if you want the show to continue. Thanks for the love and support for the show. Thanks a lot.

Shilpa Tulaskar's Cameo in Chand Chhupa...
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 16:08 [IST]

Shilpa Tulaskar needs no introduction; this talented actress has done many shows like Shanti, Palchin, Dil Mill Gaye, Ladies Special and many more.

Now Shilpa is all geared up to enter Rajan Shahi's ‘Chaand Chhupa Badal Mein’ this week, in a special cameo. Shilpa is very happy and thrilled about this role, as she is getting a chance to play not only a Marathi lady, but also to get dressed in the typical nine yard sari with proper traditional ornaments. Tulaskar told us in a candid chat, “I was dressed in complete Marathi get up last time for serial ‘Ladies Special’ when we had this special episode for Ganpati festival. But this time I will doing a special cameo role.”

Elaborating about her character she says, “Nivedita (Neha Sargam), the lead of the show, is in a big dilemma. I’m her Dadi’s friend's daughter and when my character enters the show, she brings Ganpati Bappa at Nivedita’s place. You can say that I play a mediator for Nivedita. I help her understand all the rituals of Ganpati’s pooja. Soon I make out that Nivedita is in some kind of a mess and so my character tells her that Lord Ganesha removes all worries from everyone’s life, so pray from your heart and tell him all your problems. He will definitely answer all your prayers by showing you right path. Nivedita believes me and follows my advice."

Shilpa’s character is a cameo for one episode and is likely to bring in a high point in the show in this Ganpati Ustav.

This week, all episodes will have God's presence in one form or the other and will be the guiding force for Nivedita.

Abbey Clancy is 12-weeks pregnant with cheating fiancé Peter Crouch's baby.

Abbey Clancy pregnant with Peter Crouch's baby
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 14:01 [IST]

London (ANI): WAG Abbey Clancy is 12-weeks pregnant with cheating fiancé Peter Crouch's baby. The overjoyed model, 24, went for a celebration lunch after her 12-week scan and told a male pal that she thought the baby would be a boy, reports the Sun. Beaming Abbey met celebrity crimper James Brown, her co-presenter on E4 show ‘Great British Hairdresser’, as she left a private clinic in central London.

They strolled to a branch of Italian restaurant chain Strada where, in front of other diners, the Scouse model spoke proudly of her first baby. "Abbey said she asked if a nurse could see a willy and she said she thought she could. Abbey also said she liked the name Johnny," a source said.

Abbey, who seems to have forgiven fiance Peter Crouch, 29, for bedding a prostitute, was then heard talking on the phone possibly to the 6ft 7ins England striker. "She said, She's the expert. She said she could see what it is now which means it must be a boy. I reckon it's probably a boy. She said it's so perfect," a customer said.

Abbey, who has often spoken of their relationship to magazines such as OK! and in TV interviews, showed off a copy of the scan to James, 40, as they sat in the window of the crowded restaurant. She even left it on show on the table as she told how her tiny waist was already growing and her jeans were getting tight. She joked about buying "millions" of babygros

Priyanka going an extra mile to make her first ever love story materialise into a quality product in a big way.

Priyanka finally takes a love story
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 15:34 [IST]
By: Joginder Tuteja, Bollywood Hungama

Priyanka Chopra has done around 30 films in her seven year long career so far. In this stint of hers, she has come up with several successful films. These could have belonged to drama or comedy genre with a couple of them even bringing the sensual side of her. However, an unspoken fact about her filmography is that she has never worked in a quintessential romantic musical ever where she would have played her age.

Says an industry observer, "It is tough to believe but if one actually goes through the list of films that she has done, it is actually a fact. Yes, she has worked in hit films but they have mostly been dramas (Fashion, Kaminey, Andaaz, Waqt, Aitraaz). A few of them have been rom-coms (Mujhse Shaadi Karogi) or action (Don, Krrish) but a young love story has always eluded her. Anjaana Anjaani is the first time ever when she is getting into a lovey-dovey mode.

Apparently, Priyanka too is aware about this fact and doesn't have any qualms admitting that. Says director Siddharth Anand who managed to introduce a new zone to Priyanka, "She actually knows that she has never done a love story over all these years. I guess for both of us it has turned out to be pretty good situation as now we can promise a different facet of her acting capabilities and personality to the audience."

In fact so attached was Priyanka to the film that she involved herself into the making of the film in a big way. Says a highly placed unit member who saw Priyanka's progress right through the making of Anjaana Anjaani, "Actors do come up with suggestions and carry a certain point of view, especially so when they are successful and have made a place for themselves in the industry. In fact it is appreciated as well because they have gathered good knowledge about the medium of cinema and hence their inputs are most welcome. However, the vigour with which Priyanka was making contributions to Anjaana Anjaani was amazing. It was clear that she wanted to participate in the capacity of much more than just an actor."

Siddharth's acknowledgement for his leading lady's efforts are understandable. After all when he announced the 'jodi' of Priyanka and Ranbir, there were murmurs around the untried pairing. However, he trusted his vision, went on to shoot Anjaana Anjaani and wrapped it up in quick time post which he designed a few striking promos that caught everyone's attention.

"It was a mini battle that I was fighting and though in my mind I knew that I had won it, I wanted audience to announce their verdict. For that, it was very important that the theatrical and song promos worked,” reflects Siddharth, "Fortunately for me, the response was stupendous all over which made me finally believe that I had won the battle. Now it's time to win the war with film closing in for release."

Though producer Sajid Nadiadwala wasn't present on the sets during day to day filming of Anjaana Anjaani, he is well aware about Priyanka going an extra mile to make her first ever love story materialise into a quality product in a big way.

"Yes, Siddharth has told me about the ways Priyanka was passionate about her role and the film", says Sajid, "I had a sense though that she was made for the big league when she worked for my Mujhse Shaadi Karogi. It was just her sixth film but she wasn't nervous at all despite a set up that comprised of Salman (Khan), Akshay (Kumar) and David (Dhawan). Today she has reached an enviable position and is an original rock star that we have. It was just right for her to be seen in a romantic musical after all."

NDTV Imagine’s ‘Kitani Mohabbat hai’ sequel will be the most awaited sequel of Indian Television.

Kitni Mohabbat...2 is like old wine in a new bottle
Wednesday, September 15, 2010, 12:39 [IST]

NDTV Imagine’s ‘Kitani Mohabbat hai’ sequel will be the most awaited sequel of Indian Television. The audience are just going crazy for the show to get started, but
unfortunately, the shooting of the show has not started as the pre-production is not yet over. It is well known that ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ is coming up with another season on public demand and the show is going to be a grand affair, but our girl Kritika Kamra wants to clear the air about a few things about the ‘Kitani Mohabbat hai’ sequel.

In a candid conversation with us, Kritika said, “I want to clear once and for all that season 2 of ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’ is not a sequel. It will be a totally new show with a new storyline. The love track of the show will be totally different. It can be called the second season of the show but not a sequel. A sequel means the continuation of where we left off... you can think of this as new wine in an old bottle.”

Naturally, fans are curious as to what will be different and what will remain the same on the new show and Kritika tells us, “Well! Arjun-Arohi and the title of the show is same, apart from this everything is different in the season two of ‘Kitani Mohabbat Hai’.”

Another source informed us that the final casting of the show is still going on. "Today, the photo shoot of the show held and half of the cast was present at the shoot, except Karan Kundra who is off to the U.S for his holidays.”

Sequel or not, at this point, we're sure fans just want this show to be on air. The way audiences' excitement and expectations are growing in anticipation of the show, we wouldn't be surprised if KMH 2 were to become the next cult classic of Indian Television.

The famous Australian singer Kylie Minogue has been fighting cancer for quite some time now. Although the singer does not face any immediate threat from the disease, the side effects from the cancer drugs is taking a heavy toll on her.

The singer will officially finish her drug treatment by 2011; the singer said she cannot wait to get off those strong medications. The popular Australian singer underwent surgery and chemotherapy when she got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005. Although the doctors have eliminated the immediate threat, the singer has to take the cancer medications to prevent a relapse.

The ‘Spinning Around’ singer is hoping that the doctors will give her a clean chit this time and she can finally bid adieu to the cancer medications. Speaking about her recovery, Minogue said that the road has not been easy for her and she will be very happy to lead a medication-free life from 2011 onwards. The singer said, “I’ll finish next year and that will be amazing, but I’ve also heard you can feel quite insecure when you first come off it because you have relied on this medication for so long. It’s going to be a big adjustment.”

Grammy award winning Columbian singer and songwriter Shakira is making her Hindi film debut with an Indian film called Kaali-The Warrior Goddess. The well known singer will make her grand entry in the Indian films playing the goddess ‘Kaali’.

Karan Arora, the CEO of High Ground Entertainment Ltd. will be producing the movie starring Shakira. Arora was quoted saying that the movie will be a 3D motion film shot on CG. The full length two-hour-long Hindi movie will be shot either in London or in a city in Eastern Europe.

The producer confirmed Shakira being a part of his movie saying that the signer has agreed to be on board but she is yet to sign the papers. He added that when his co-producer spoke to Shakira, she agreed to act in this film and now they are just working out the monies.

On choosing Shakira, Karan Arora said that she was chosen for two reasons; one is they wanted to cast an international star and the second is that they wanted to have someone dusky and Shakira matches both the criteria.

In the recently concluded 2010 FIFA World Cup, Shakira became a household name in India and all over the world with her peppy Waka Waka number. Hope Indian people accept her Kali avatar too!

Bollywood actor Sohail Khan is in the news now and the reason is not a new movie, but a clash with builder Ashish Raheja.

On last Thursday night, Sohail went out with his sister-in-law Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and sister Arpita at Olive bar, a popular hangout for Bollywood celebrities and socialites. The incident took place there when the builder Ashish Raheja misbehaved with his sister Arpita.

Amrita and Mallaika were seated with Sohail Khan at the same table and Arpita was sitting at the adjacent table. Ashish Raheja entered the scene after few minutes and settled at the table next to Arpita. As time passed, the associates of Rajeha started increasing and they turned louder. At one point, Raheja allegedly dropped the drink in his hand on Arpita by mistake.

An eyewitness was quoted saying that Raheja dropped the drink on Arpita's dress. When she asked him about the behavior, Ashish turned very rude and said that he can buy her table out. This led to an argument between Sohail and Ashish Raheja. Later, Raheja was asked to leave the Olive bar as a big hullabaloo was created there.

Confirming the news, Sohail was quoted saying that there was a little argument and pushing each other but he did not beat up Raheja. The actor said that initially he took it easily but when his sister got very uncomfortable with Raheja's friends dancing around her table, he was forced to step in.

Dabangg is setting new records and Arbaaz Khan is, naturally, ecstatic. "I expected the film to perform very well, but I never expected it to emerge the biggest opener," Arbaaz admits honestly. But the actor turned film-maker isn't resting on laurels, but has decided to keep the momentum going by promoting the film on weekdays as well.

Arbaaz is not in a hurry to start his next production either. In fact, the news doing the rounds is that the Khan-daan is planning to start Dabangg 2. It's said that they might call it Robinhood Pandey or Chulbul Pandey. Arbaaz smiles, "Yes, there's a 110% possibility that we will start Dabangg 2, but when that will happen is yet undecided. See, Salman has several commitments to fulfill, so Dabangg 2 will take some time to start. But it's definitely on the cards."

With Dabangg opening to an overwhelming response, the enthusiasm to acquire the Tamil and Telugu version remaking rights has increased overnight. In fact, Arbaaz has already received several lucrative offers for the same. "I am still studying the market. We will take a call later," he states.
