Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming Telugu movie Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju is being shot at a specially erected set at Padmalaya Studios in Hyderabad. The scenes are shot on the lead actor Sunil.

As per the subject of the film, the hero is from Amalapuram and wants to become a director. According to him, none of the top directors were able to bring out good films. He reaches Hyderabad to change the entire shape of the Telugu film industry. He starts searching for a heroine, who would be equal or above the range of Ramya Krishna or Urmila Matondkar. At this juncture, he comes across Sakshi, a Mumbai model. Appalaraju convinces her to play heroine in his film ‘Nayaki’.

Katha Screenplay Darsakatvam Appalaraju is produced by Kiran Kumar Koneru on the banner of Sreya Productions. Koti is scoring the music, camera is by Sudhakar Yekkanti, while Vandita Koneru is the presenter of the film.

Didn't we hear Shahrukh Khan declaring that he would watch Salman Khan's latest film Dabangg? Yes Shahrukh said, and he kept his word. Producer Arbaaz Khan held a special screening of the film at his residence on his request.

As if that's not enough, Gauri Khan requested Malaika Arora for another special screening of the film for her kids Aryan and Suhana. So, Dabangg, starring Salman and Sonakshi Sinha, was screened twice at Shahrukh's house.

It may be recalled that Salman and Shahrukh turned foes after the 'infamous fight' at Katrina Kaif's birthday bash a few years ago. They haven't talked to each other since then but things seem to have changed of late. They are often seen supporting each other indirectly.

London, (ANI): Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has claimed that he ended his marriage to wife Jo because he was fed up with being under her thumb. The guitarist’s 23-year marriage to the former model collapsed after he had an affair with Russian cocktail waitress Ekaterina Ivanova and went on a drinking bender that lasted 18 months.

However, now Wood, 63, has claimed he walked out on heartbroken Jo in July 2008 because he was ‘bored’ with his family making decisions for him. “I was getting under the cosh too much,” the Daily Mail quoted him as saying.

“I was bored with not being able to make decisions for myself. Other people were making decisions for me – including my kids. I thought: ‘Hang on. I’m not being in charge of my life.’ And that’s what I had to be,” he said.

At one point Jo’s son Jamie - Wood’s stepson - was managing the guitarist. Miss Wood would also famously join him for the duration of every Rolling Stones tour in a bid to keep him on the straight and narrow - even preparing him meals on a two-ring stove in hotel rooms.

Hundreds of Zappa fans collaborated on a scorching afternoon and the officials from the city devoted the bust of the legendary rocker right outside an east Baltimore library. This bust made of bronze is a replica of one more of its kind. The other bust is in Vilnius, Lithuania. This city got it from the Zappa fans.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake declared that the spirit of Zappa was alive and doing well in the city of Baltimore. The Mayor then joined, Gail, Frank’s widow and three of his children to watch as a curtain was drawn back to disclose the bust. The bust is set atop a 12-foot high steel pole. Zappa was an eccentric and a genius musician. In a career of more than 3 decades, Zappa wrote everything from rock, jazz and electronic to orchestral and musique concrète works. He succumbed to prostate cancer in the year 1993 at the age of 52.

EXPECTATIONS
Since A Flat (Earlier titled Flat) has been ready for quite some time, you expect a dated feel in its music. Moreover Bappi Lahiri, after being heard in a few albums so far, is yet to make his make his mark as a composer. Add to that the fact that there isn't any buzz around the film's music so far and the expectations are kept at the very minimal. Along with lyricist Virag Mishra, Bappi has made four songs for the album. Let's check out what exactly is in store here.

MUSIC
To go with the (horror) genre of the film, the opening song 'Meetha Sa' begins on a haunting note which takes an entire minute before entering into a 'enigma' zone. Kailash Kher enters the zone at this stage and along with Suzanne D'Mello comes up with a rendition that goes with the fusion mood of the song. Even though there isn't anything displeasing about the song, there is a sense of deja vu right through it's duration for sure. Also, there is a sad mood prevalent as well which makes one believe that 'Meetha Sa' may well appear at number of places in the film's narrative. Appearance of two more versions - an 'unplugged' and a 'partymap mix' - only consolidates the belief further.

The name Sonu Nigam is always exciting to read on the album credits, especially due to the fact that he has gone over selective in last 2-3 years. Even though it is Raja Hasan along with Aditi Singh Sharma who are heard at the beginning, it is Sonu Nigam who makes an instant impact 60 seconds into the song. He gets into his characteristic intoxicated rendition and brings in his own persona into 'Dil Kashi' which, though a tad predictable, is entertaining nevertheless. If you have liked those slow moving romantic numbers featuring Sonu in the past, you would like this one as well which is placed in the album twice and has Tulsi Kumar as Sonu's female companion.

Raja Hasan and Aditi Singh Sharma are the accompanying singers for yet another track, 'Chal Halke', which basically is a Sunidhi Chauhan solo. A fun track about a young girl who lives life on her own terms and doesn't care less for the outside world, 'Chal Halke' is yet another harmless predictable track that should go well with the film's flow. However, there isn't much in the song that would guarantee a long stay in the audience mind.

Finally comes a quintessential haunting number 'Pyar Itna Na Kar', a Shreya Ghoshal which tries to get into the 'Zara Zara' [Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein] zone but doesn't quite succeed. At maximum, it ends up being one of those regular 'sugam sangeet' love songs
which end up being an ordinary affair. Though uncluttered, simple and slow, there isn't any recall value once the song is through.

OVERALL
A Flat has an ordinary soundtrack that doesn't have that one single chartbuster song that could have enabled it to rise up in the charts. A couple of songs that could possibly find some following in the long run are 'Dil Kashi' and 'Meetha Sa'. However, the fact is that buzz is missing around the music which would only make it further difficult for the album to make any headway.

Get ready for two fun films done in two different shades of laughter clash this Diwali. Vipul Shah's Action Replayy will take on Golmaal 3, the third instalment of the Golmaal series. But Vipul is pretty much confident there is room for two fun films.

"Haven't we always had two big releases every Diwali? Besides the humour in the Golmaal is very different from the humour in my film. There's already an established convention of humour in Golmaal. Ours is a very different take."

The film has Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Bachchan travelling back in time to the 1970s. "But," cautions Vipul Shah, "There is more than just the retro effect in the film. I don't want audiences to go for the film expecting just a nostalgic experience."

In a few days, Akshay and Aishwarya would be playing deejays at a night club in the suburbs of Mumbai where they will be playing all their favourite music from the 1970s.

"I hope the two of them come prepared for the event with the songs," says Vipul.

Last week, Vipul Shah made news by gifting Akshay Kumar a Rs. 8 lakh rupee 1938 vintage watch for the star's birthday. Vipul is embarrassed, "Gifts are not to be talked about."

When Katrina Kaif woke up on Tuesday morning, she wouldn't have imagined a tabloid headline to be screaming about her spat with Akshay Kumar, her co-star in many films and the partner-in-crime for her upcoming release Tees Maar Khan. As per the report, the lead actors had a verbal fight due to date issues. While Akshay and Farah Khan (director of Tees Maar Khan) wanted her to shoot for the special 'qawalli' ASAP, Katrina wanted to hold on for a while since her dates were already allocated to Yash Raj Films for her Imran Khan starrer.

Known for her professionalism over the years, Katrina was surprised to find herself in this imbroglio when she least expected that to be coming to her. In fact no sooner did the report come out, the makers were quick to come to her defence and screamed the slogan of 'all izz well'.

Akshay commented that "Katrina and I go back a long way and she is a dear friend of mine and has always been there. I would like to clarify that she is one of the most professional stars we have and she and I are amused with these reports since there is absolutely no truth to them." On the other hand Farah Khan too spoke up - "There is absolutely no problem between any of us. Katrina is a wonderful girl and very professional. She has done a great job in Tees Maar Khan."

While her team is standing behind her like a rock, what does the young woman in question has to say about it?

"Well, what more should I say? I guess Akshay and Farah have already stated the facts", sighs Katrina who has worked with the actor in De Dana Dan, Blue, Singh Is Kinng, Welcome, Namastey London and Humko Deewana Kar Gaye.

Aamir Khan and his wife, Kiran Rao, were in a very joyous mood when they went to participate in the Toronto International Film Festival a few days back, and they returned with much applause too for Rao’s directorial debut Dhobi Ghat. The film had its international premiere at this festival.

However, Rao needs to fight a legal case now for the title of her movie Dhobi Ghat. Vinod Kumar Kanojia, the chairman of Hindustan Kanojia Organisation of Dhobis, has claimed that the title of the movie was a sign for making caste division in the dhobi community. He has appealed to the Delhi High Court asking for a change of the title before film releases in theaters.

Kanojia also requested the censor board to assess the film’s title in order to avoid caste division in society. In his petition, Kanojia stated that the movie could have opted for some other title but they have chosen the title to hurt the feelings of the dhobi community. He added that the community was notified as the scheduled caste in the Indian Constitution and it is a punishable offence to call any person by its community name. He further mentioned that the fundamental right of the community is violated by the film’s title and the court must restrain it.

Dhobi Ghat has received high accolades in the recently held Toronto International Film festival and all parties involved would like a resolution to this matter at the earliest. The case is likely to be heard in court on Wednesday. Kanojia alleged that the director and producer of the movie have used the name of the caste just to earn money and it is a very minor and dirty thinking. He said that no one has the right to sell the name of any caste.

Barely two days after vocalizing an ostensibly immovable determination to release their film this Friday and hardly hours after the newspapers announced September 24 as the release date, the Anjaana Anjaani team has done an about-turn on the release date.

On Monday afternoon it was decided that the film would now be released a week ahead of schedule on October 1. A huge setback for the film as it now has to compete for eyeballs with two other biggies Priyadarshan's Aakrosh and Shankar's Robot.

Director Siddharth Anand who had earlier stated that neither the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid verdict nor the Dabangg factor would prevent Anjaana Anjaani from releasing this Friday now has this to say about the postponement: "There are too many reasons for the postponement. The court verdict seems too much of a risk and danger to the release."

What about the additional burden of keeping the marketing and promotion going for an extra week? Says Siddharth, "We've given two years of our lives to Anjaana Anjaani. What is one extra week? And the verdict (on the temple-mosque issue) is an important day for the entire country."

The real reason for the postponement, says a source, is that neither Dabangg's popularity nor the nation's security bandobast (ref: the terrorist attack in Delhi on the two Taiwanese tourists) seems conducive to a favourable release of Anjaana Anjaani this Friday when the honourable court makes a historical decision.

In the meanwhile, Priyadarshan's hard-hitting socio-political drama Aakrosh which was supposed to come on October 1 has now voluntarily been shifted by its producer Kumar Mangat by a week to October 8.

Says Mangat, "Neither the producer Sajid Nadiadwala nor the director Siddharth Anand of Anjaana Anjaani asked me to move forward. I chose to do so although it means an added burden of Rs. 1 crore to my marketing and promotion budget. But these compromises are essential in the entertainment industry. I've been a distributor and producer long enough to realize we all need to work in unity."

Mangat has in fact distributed the current blockbuster Dabangg in Mumbai and is understandably upbeat about the box-office. "The decision to move Anjaana Anjaani was correct. And we couldn't have three big films (Anjaana Anajaani, Aakrosh and Robot) on one Friday. We will now come with Mohit Suri's Crook on October 8. Two big films on the same Friday is okay."

Commenting on the need for producers to co-operate among themselves Kumar Mangat says, "When my comedy Atithi Tum Kab Jaaoge was to release, I got to know two other big films Teen Patti and Kartik Calling Kartik were releasing the day. I requested one of them to move forward. When they didn't oblige, I moved my film. Chalta hai. We need to support one another's films."

London (ANI): A new history of the Secret Intelligence Service has revealed that one of James Bond’s most famous scenes was inspired by the wartime exploits of an MI6 spy. The moment when the fictional spy emerges from the water in a wetsuit and plants explosives before unzipping the suit to reveal a spotless dinner suit really took place during the Second World War.

The scene where Bond, played by Sean Connery, emerges in his wetsuit in the 1964 movie Goldfinger was inspired by the real life exploits of Dutch agent Pieter Tazelaar, according to ‘MI6’ by Keith Jeffery, the first official history of SIS. Tazelaar was sent in by sea in 1940 to make contact with agents in Holland.

The book recounts that he ‘put ashore at 4.35am on 23 November at Scheveningen near the seafront casino in full evening dress and smelling of alcohol, wearing a specially designed rubber oversuit to keep him dry while landing, reports the Daily Mail. ‘Rather than leaving him somewhere on the dunes, the aim was for him to be able to mingle with the crowd on the front.

‘Having landed on the beach his colleague Erik Hazelhof sprinkled a few drops of Hennessy XO brandy on him, to strengthen his party-goer’s image’. Professor Keith Jeffery, of Queen’s University, Belfast, was given unrestricted access to the surviving historic files of the Secret Intelligence Service. But his work only covers the period up to 1949 and he was banned from revealing the identities of spies that are not already in the public domain.

The book also confirms that one of the templates for James Bond was another spy with the unpromising name of Wilfred ‘Biffy’ Dunderdale. ‘When head of the SIS Paris station in the 1930s, he had a penchant for pretty women and fast cars and has been proposed as one of the possible models for Bond,’ the book reports.

‘He was a great friend of Ian Fleming and claimed that he found parts of his own stories in the James Bond novels.’ Another model for Bond’s exploits might have been Air Commodore Lionel ‘Lousy’ Payne. He was described in an SIS report as ‘often well informed, probably due to the fact that information is more readily obtained in bed’.

As of press time, Warner Bros. has raked in a cool $753 million worldwide for the surreal heist thriller Inception, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, according to Variety, and fittingly director Christopher Nolan has revealed videogame spinoff plans:

"[What] we are looking at doing is developing a videogame based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can't fit into a feature film," Nolan said at a packed Rome press conference. "That's something we've been talking about and are looking at doing long term, in a couple of years."

"I did always intend for this film to give a mass audience a really entertaining experience," Nolan said. "But my fear with the film was always that it would be misinterpreted as being overly cerebral or puzzle-like."


It looks like an Inception game won't surface for a few years. Meanwhile Christopher Nolan has his hands full with Batman 3.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious) will make his feature directorial debut on Violet and Daisy, directing from his own script. Production will start next week in New York City.

Peter Craig wrote Little America, which is being described as a cross between Black Dog and Speed.

Little America centers on a 16-year-old prostitute who inadvertently kills a gang member, and then must go on the run. She hitches a ride with a truck driver who is hauling a lethal toxin. The truck driver and the prostitute bond during the chase.

Kristen Stewart is interested in the role of the prostitute, while Josh Brolin is interested in the role of the truck driver.
