Director James Gunn recently updated his official website with three new photos from the upcoming superhero comedy Super, which will be released in theaters nationwide on April 1, 2011. The director confirmed the April 1, 2011 (April Fools Day) release date, but added that Super will only be released in Los Angeles and New York City on April 1, with the movie expanding to more markets on April 8. It wasn't clear what cities would be included in the April 8 expansion, but we'll be sure to keep you posted with more details as soon as we have them.

Super comes to theaters April 1st, 2011 and stars Rainn Wilson, Ellen Page, Liv Tyler, Kevin Bacon, Gregg Henry, Michael Rooker, Andre Royo, Sean Gunn. The film is directed by James Gunn.
