The 16th edition of the Asian Games begiuns in Gangzhou in China from November 12 2010.The games will be played till the November 27. The first day of the games will be dedicated to the opening ceremony, while the last day will have a few sports and the closing ceremony.
Swimming will have gold medals handed out from the very first day, as will Dancesport, Shooting and Judo. However, the biggest number of medals will handed out on the penultimate day of the event; that is November 26, where there will be 48 gold medals handed out.
Some of the events will have a long lead-up to the gold medal rounds like baseball and basketball and even cricket. Handball, which has only one gold medal associated with it as well will see it being played over 14 days.
Soccer is the only sport which will begin from before the start of the Asian Games. They will be played on November 7, 9 and 11.
