Edward Burns and Genesis Rodriguez have boarded the Asger Leth-directed thriller Man on a Ledge, for Summit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project stars Sam Worthington as a fugitive ex-cop perched on the ledge of a high-rise building while a hard-living NYPD hostage negotiator (Elizabeth Banks) tries to talk him down. The longer they are on the ledge, the more she realizes he might have an ulterior objective.

Jamie Bell and Anthony Mackie also have been cast in the film.

Genesis Rodriguez plays Jamie Bell's girlfriend who, along with Jamie Bell, tries to prove Sam Worthington's innocence. Edward Burns is a rival negotiator who tries to swoop in when he believes Elizabeth Banks has a conflict of interest.

Production begins this month in New York.

Man on a Ledge comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Sam Worthington, Anthony Mackie, Jamie Bell, Elizabeth Banks, Edward Burns, Genesis Rodriguez. The film is directed by Asger Leth.
