Chelsea Handler, host of E!'s late night talk show Chelsea Lately, has landed a role in the new McG comedy-thriller This Means War, according to Deadline New York.

Chelsea Handler will play best friend to Reese Witherspoon. The story centers on two CIA agents and best friends (Tom Hardy and Chris Pine), who are trying to woo Witherspoon's character by one-upping each other at every turn.

McG is directing from a script by Timothy Dowling and Burr Steers. The movie is currently in production, and it was said that Chelsea Handler will shoot her role later this month.

This Means War comes to theaters in 2011 and stars Tom Hardy, Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, John Paul Ruttan, Valin Shinyei, Chelsea Handler. The film is directed by McG.
