The Story
T S Sureshbabu, the director of super hits like ‘Kottayam Kunjachan’ and ‘Uppukandam Brothers’ is back with an action thriller this time. His new flick after five years titled as ‘Paappy Appacha’ will once again present Suresh Gopi as an action hero armed with guns and pistols.
Based on the script by Dennis Joseph, the movie will have Suresh Gopi as Mohanshankar IPS, a former city police commissioner who is presently engaged in research activities. Kollywood star Sonia Agarwal will debut in Malayalam playing the heroine of the movie which will also have Suraj, Jagathy, Harishree Ashokan, Shanavas, Kiranraj, Urmilaunni, and Gowry Nandha in other important roles. The movie is presently being shot at locations in Thiruvananthapuram and Kanyakumari.Dileep and Kavya Madhavan are coming together once again with 'Paapi Appacha', a comedy by debut director Mammas. The lucky pair have done more than 16 hit films like Chandranudikkunu Dikhil, Tenkasipattanam, Meesa Madhavan, Thilakkam, Lion, etc.
They have also won the Medimix "Best Pair" award and featured in a dozen films together. Dileep, who badly needs a hit, started shooting for Paapi Appacha on December 20.
Dileep and Innocent play a father and son duo in Pappi Appacha whose cast also includes Ashokan, Dharmajan, Suresh Krishna and KPAC chief Lalitha.
Pappi Appacha is also expected to bring back the glorious times of Dileep. He agrees that 2009 has been generally a disappointing one in his career and hopes that things will be different in 2010.
Besides Pappi Appacha, Dileep has two films which are ready for release. Agathan, directed by Kamal will see him in the role of a techie. His other film is Bodyguard, directed by Siddique. Nayantara [ Images ] is the heroine.
Of Pappi Appacha, Dileep says the film has humour, romance and heroism.
Pappi Appacha is being produced by Anoop, Dileep's brother, under the banner of Priyanjali. Vidyasagar is the music director while Sanjeev Sankar is the cinematographer.\

Paappy Appacha movie moves around a wealthy father and son, who were shrewd and notorious. They owned schools, bar, hospital and many other institutions. Annie (Kavya Madhavan) who was appointed in their school as a teacher. She is daughter of Varghese master who is engaged in social activities. She raised her voice against the wrong deeds of Paappy (Dileep) and Appachan (Incent).

They survive by rolling funds and when they face real shortage, they resort to insurance fraud.
Kavya Madhavan plays the role of a school teacher Annie in the film run by the father and the son. Annie had besotted Paappy ( Dileep). Both had a dispute while they were in school after Pappi played a prank on her in school. Annie decides to contest in Panchayath election against Paappy. Things started changing from here onwards.
The film seems to concentrate on Dileep and his mannerisms rather on the story. There are comedy scenes that one finds it very hard to digest and may be one needs a rib tickling for it. Dileep’s role as a son, and hero is quite impressive but his unnecessary jokes and gestures makes it a bit boring. Kavya Madhavan played a decent role. But this time their chemistry hasn’t proved impressive.
All others in the cast including the villain role played by Suresh Krishna and Asokan, who plays a rich man, are ok. It is directed by Mammas and the music is composed by Vidyasagar. The movie is to attract mainly children with the comedy and Dileep’s mannerisms. But as far as adults are concerned, it may be hard to digest.
A comedy+action entertatiner that’s what you can say about Paappy Appacha. Acahanum makanum koodi engane ithiri kandam panchayat adakki vaazhunu ennathaanu 1st half. Avar tehttunathode interval.
