Ofter so many controverseas with Mussanje Mahesh Ganesh released on 12th November 2010 and running successfully in all theater all over the karnataka.

The Story:

Vijay-Jyothika starrer Khushi was a hit movie in Tamil and director SJ Suraiah remade it in Telugu, which was a blockbuster film. Later, it was remade in Hindi, but it was flop at the Box Office. Now, Mussanje Maathu fame director Mahesh has remade it as Eno Onthara (Yeno Onthara) in Kannada. He has completely stayed loyal to the original. And almost ten years have passed after these three movies, the director has not done single update to his script in Kannada.

Eno Onthara is a romantic-cum-sentimental film, which has all the commercial elements. Golden star Ganesh's performance is the main highlight of the movie. V Harikrishna's music, Sharan's comedy and PKH Doss' cinematography are the other highlights. Lack of freshness in the script and lengthy narration are two main weaknesses of the film.

The movie is a regular love story, where the hero and heroine separate over ego clashes and find themselves unable to express their hearts to each other. The movie is a right mixture of love, sentiment, comedy and confusion. The first half of the film is quite interesting, but lengthy climax in the second half tests the patience of the audience. But Ganesh and Priyamani have managed to make it watchable with their brilliant acting.

Surya (Ganesh) is a student in a college in Mysore. He develops a close relationship with his classmate Madhumathi (Priyamani) after seeing her confident nature. But their ego-centric nature makes them stay apart always. Once both struggle to unite their friends Shanthi and Prasad, who are in love. What happens to their own love story will form the climax of the film.

As usual, Ganesh rocks the viewers with his wonderful acting. Priyamani has also delivered a fair performance. Her on-screen chemistry with Ganesh is good to watch. Sharan’s comedy is enjoyable. Shrinivas Murthy, Jai Jagdish, Vijayalakshmi Singh and Padma Vasanthi have done justice to their respective roles. Ramesh Aravind's background commentary is successful in holding the audience's attention.

V Harikrishna has composed four beautiful songs for the film and all are good. Especially songs like 'Dilkhush...' and 'Inthi Ninna Preethiya...' are very melodious and linger the minds of listeners. PKH Doss' camera work is brilliant. He wins the heart of viewers with his wonderful picturisation of New Delhi and Kerala in song sequences.

Overall, it can be said although Eno Onthara does not have anything unusual, it can be enjoyed once.he majority of remake makers bank on the success part of the original and forget about at what time they are bringing it on Kannada screen. Look at the film ‘Eno Onthara’ that is copy cat of 12 years ago released Telugu film ‘Kushi’ that was made in Tamil language too.

In a place like Bangalore where all the language films are seen the director needs extra guts to make a film in Kannada is often told. That is what the director and producer of this film have easily given up. Similar kinds of films with more strength in the screenplay have already come and gone.

Unless the maker and director give a serious thought on what kind of films are made this kind of routine films come and go.

Untill the protagonist Surya (Ganesh) look at the waist of Madhumathi (Priyamani) the film is a big bore. It is because after this incident the film gets some spark. So far yawning audience immediately become attentive and curiously watches what’s going to happen. But as expected is the end at the railway station. Madhumathi gives a good bye to her ego centric nature and Surya who has right temperament from the beginning admits her.

For the audience of 12 years ago this kind of film might be interesting but the scenario has changed. Some of the film – to quote an example in Kannada Sudeep and Sonia starring producer Sa.Ra.Govindu ‘Chandu’ had the similar thread that does not come to the notice of the producer and director of ‘Eno Onthara’.

Ganesh at places attracts for his dialogue delivery. When he is up with a few pegs his modulation of voice is good. Priyamani is a treat to watch in scenes where she picks up a quarrel. Srinivasamurthy is the major draw in the supporting roles.

The alphabet song that is the opening song for Ganesh is interesting and Dilkush….song with Kerala culture backdrop is cynosure. V Harkrishna maintains his graph steadily in the music department as the background song on the situation of hero and heroine is also impressive.

PKH Doss is brilliant again. The long shots of New Delhi the hilly region of Chickmagalur are captured beautifully.

If you have excess of time and money you can watch this film.

Eno onthara Movie Review:
Eno onthara movie is the ego centric female protagonist and soft hearted male protagonist tale from the beginning till the end. Internally there is love in Madhumathi (Priyamani) for Surya (Ganesh) but she does not show it. Although Surya tries to show his love to Madhumathi that is often stalled by her quarreling with him. The estranged friends are forced to help lovers in getting a fine path. That is not easy for Madhumathi and Surya. They take on lot of opponents but finally succeed in uniting the lovers who are thick friends of both of them.Madhumathi and Surya are still at distance although they meet regularly. Finally at the railway station both about to climb train to their destination write letters to express their feelings. Madumathi buries her ego nature finally.
This is the script not updated from 1998. It was first in Telugu as ‘Kushi’ and later in Tamil language too. For 12 years old such narration is appropriate but not for present scenario.
‘Eno Onthara’ has remained faithful to its Tamil original ‘Kushi’, starring Vijay and Jyothika, which was directed by S.J. Surya. While ‘Kushi’ was a big hit, its Telugu remake of the same title was a blockbuster. However, the Hindi remake of this film (‘Khushi’) with Fardeen Khan and Kareena Kapoor, was a big flop.

The Kannada remake comes after a gap of more than 15 years since the original film was released, and is evident in many places. For example, most of the time, the lovers speak on landline telephones, which is a rarity in today’s 3G world.

In a way, ‘Eno Onthara’ sticks to the original pattern of narration. Despite its dated storyline and fairly long climax, one can really enjoy this film, if one is not too bothered by seeing a remake.

The movie appeals mainly because of the love element. Comedy, emotion and confusion too have been packaged in the right proportions.

The film’s lead pair Ganesh and Priyamani have a fantastic on-screen chemistry. Many sequences are absolutely hilarious.
