Versatile actor Murali was one of the most talented actor of South India. He breathed his last at 4.00 am due to a cardiac failure on Wednesday at a private hospital in Chennai. He is survived by wife Shobha, son Atharva and daughter.
Murali was born on May 19, 1964. He is a son of legendary Kannada film director G.Siddalingiah. He started his filmi career by assisting his father in his directional films. Though, his roots were connected in Kannada, he made his acting debut with the Tamil film Poovilangu. He earned a good name with that film, but he could not sustain it for longer. His movies started failing at the Box Office one after another. Even Mani Ratnam's Pagal Nilavu failed to impress the audience.
The actor later made his debut in Kannada industry. He tried his luck with few films like Prem Parva, Sambavami Yuge Yuge, Ajay Vijay, Prem Gange etc. His Kannada film Ajay Vijay got him essential break.
Murali acted in nearly 100 movies both in Kannada and Tamil. He is popularly known for his performance in Puthu Vasantham, which gave him a much-needed break in Tamil film industry. Some of his hit movies are Idhayam, Thanga Manusukkaran, Porkkaalam etc.
Murali was mostly seen in supporting characters in his later part of his career. He won Best Actor award from Tamil Nadu State government for his acting in Bharathiraja's Kadal Pookkal in the year 2001. He was lastly seen in his son Athava's debut film Baana Kaathadi.
We at Oneindia express the deepest condolences to his family and friends.
