Liam Neeson has joined the cast of Peter Berg's high-seas adventure movie Battleship, according to Variety.

Liam Neeson will portray Admiral Shane in the board game adapation. He is set to be the future father-in-law of Taylor Kitsch's character. Brooklyn Decker is portraying Shane's daughter, while Alexander Skarsgård will play Taylor Kitsch's brother in the movie.

Peter Berg is directing from a script by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber, which was revised by Brian Koppelman and David Levien. Principal photography started today in Hawaii.

Battleship comes to theaters May 25th, 2012 and stars Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgård, Joel William Gonzales, Tom Arnold, Brooklyn Decker, Rihanna, Hamish Linklater, Liam Neeson. The film is directed by Peter Berg.
