Nandita Das to Direct Trafficking

Indian film actress Nandita Das will direct the indie thriller Trafficking, about the world of global sex trafficking, according to Variety.
Siddharth Kara wrote the script and is an expert on the trafficking issue.
Trafficking, a winner of the Cinestory Screenplay competition, tells the intertwining story of three young women from India, Nigeria and the Ukraine forced into sexual slavery in a brothel in Italy, where they attempt a daring escape.
Siddharth Kara has interviewed more than 500 slaves over the past decade and wrote "Sex Trafficking: Inside the Business of the Modern Slavery," published last year by Columbia University Press. Siddharth Kara on the boards of several antislavery organizations and he is the first Fellow on Human Trafficking at Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government.
