Updated at: 0143 PST, Thursday, August 26, 2010 GILGIT: The targeted killing incidents being witnessed for last two days that claimed lives of four people have triggered panic and tension, resulting in torching of three houses in Gilgit, Geo News reported Wednesday. Unknown miscreants set ablaze three houses followed by firing on a passenger van but no causality were reported in the riots. In the latest development, army has taken control after the tension grew in various areas. Incidents of aerial firing after ambush on a passenger van were reported in separate parts in Gilgit, which lasted incessantly for many hours while three houses were also set on fire. It may be mentioned that the riots erupted owing to the targeted killings of four persons during last two days in Gilgit, while the situation is still tensed there whereas law enforcement agencies are amid meetings to thwart fragile law and order situation. |
