Mumbai rains to last another 24 hours: Forecast

Mumbai, Aug 30: Heavy rains battered Mumbai for the second day on Monday, Aug 30 even as weather bureau forecast intermittent rains over the next 24 hours.
The Indian Metrological Department (IMD) informed that Colaba recorded 69.3 mm of rainfall and Santacruz received 138.0 mm of rainfall from 8.30 am on Sunday, Aug 29 to 8.30 am on Monday, Aug 30.
Heavy rains accompanied by strong gusty winds have been forecast in parts of city and suburbs.
While rail and road traffic remained unaffected by the downpour, waterlogging was reported from Dadar, Andheri, Malad, Ghatkopar and Vikhroli.
In a rain-related incident, a portion of Bayani House building in Masjid Bunder in south Mumbai caved in early Monday, Aug 30 morning. However, no injuries have been reported.
