Ajith Kumar’s desperate need of hits has urged him to opt for an abrupt change now. The actor has decided to sign more projects and at least come up with couple of releases a year. He has already started vigorously on his next movie ‘Mankatha’ that will start rolling from September 5. Meanwhile, we hear it from the closer sources that he is holding talks with director Vijay for next project.

According to the sources, it will be a period film set in unusual backdrops. It’s not all the same as we expect it to be either a romantic tale or a revolt for independence. The film is reported to be focalizing on trade and commerce during 17th century.

It’s worth mentioning that Ajith Kumar was supposed to work on a period thriller titled ‘Thuppariyum Anand’ with Gowtham Menon. Due to some unavoidable constraints, the project has been shelved.
