The Weinstein Company has picked up the coming-of-age comedy Submarine for North America.

Written and directed by writer/director Richard Ayoade, Submarine is a comedy which follows 15-year-old Oliver Tate (Craig Roberts) with two objectives: To lose his virginity before his next birthday, and to stop his mother from leaving his father for her danceteacher.

Submarine is an adaptation of Joe Dunthorne's stunning, award-winning novel which has attracted comparisons to J.D. Salinger.

Submarine comes to theaters in 2010 and stars Sally Hawkins, Paddy Considine, Noah Taylor, Yasmin Paige, Gemma Chan, Craig Roberts. The film is directed by Richard Ayoade.
