Wonder Woman Returns to TV with David E. Kelley

TV maven David E. Kelley will write and produce a brand new version of Wonder Woman, according to Deadline TV.

Plot details on the new series weren't revealed, and it wasn't clear if Diana Prince would have all of her notable powers and gadgets, such as the Lasso of Truth and her iconic bracelets. David E. Kelley will write and produce the series for Warner Bros. Television and the Warner-based DC Entertainment.

Warner TV is currently in the midst of Smallville's 10th and final season on the CW Network. This new Wonder Woman series is still in the planning stages, and it wasn't clear what networks they would shop this potential new series to.

The Wonder Woman comic book franchise started in 1941 and since then, the most popular adaptation of the character was the Wonder Woman TV series which ran from 1976 to 1979 and starred Lynda Carter.

A feature film version of the character has been languishing in development at Warner Bros., although it is believed that Warner Bros. will announce a new superhero movie slate by the end of the year, with Wonder Woman expected to be one of the projects included.
