The Story : Jagan Mohini Tamil film;
Jaganmohini movie is a remake of yesteryear hit of the same title directed by Vittalacharya. In this movie Namitha played a role of a girl who gathers pearls and falls in love with the prince (Raja). But Raja's family does not accept her and she is killed. Later she comes back as a ghost to stop his marriage to another princess.

"I am thrilled to be part of such a venture. There is everything that an actress could aspire for in a movie. The whole film revolves around me. There are underwater sequences besides some computer graphics which would enthral children," says Namitha with all smiles, while speaking about 'Jaganmohini'.
"The film is like a folk tale narrated by our grandparents. It sounded like an experiment to me. I agreed to do it immediately when I was asked. Cinematographer - director N K Vishwanathan, who wields megaphone for 'Jaganmohini' needs no introduction. A skilled technician, he is the man credited with bringing in a lot of visual effects and technical nuances to filmmaking.
A close associate of veteran director Rama Narayanan, Vishwanathan says, "When we decided to remake Jaganmohini, Namitha was the name that popped up in our mind immediately. She combines glamour with performance. She is the USP of the film."
Namitha plays the role enacted by Jeyamalini in the original directed by Vittalacharya, while the rest of the cast includes Nila and Tollywood actor Raja. Produced by H Murali, the shooting for the movie is complete and it is all set for a Deepavali release.
Jaganmohini 2009 is a remake of the same titled old flick of veteran Vittalacharya. These days most of the old movies are remade in Tamil as with latest technical advancement the movie will be a treat for the eyes in todays trend. Let us see how Jaganmohini was remade at present scenario.

The story is Namitha was murdered for falling in love with a wealthy prince but after her death she search in love with the Prince. In the meantime Prince finds an apt bride Nila with in the family circle. An evil magician Kota Srinivasa Rao is also there to capture Raja for his human sacrifice that will grant him enormous powers. The movie also featuring a wicked prince from a nearby state Riyas Khan his father Bala Singh and Vadivelu(brother of Namitha). The remaining part of movie is will Ghost Namitha get his love back or not???
The script has more availability to attract all the audiences but with the chopped screenplay and the lacked visual effects the movie looks normal. There are certain areas the movies visual effects come good but as far as these types of movie the visual effects plays a vital role in the entire movie but missing.
Hot actress Namitha who often come on screen for songs is now acted in a full movie. Namitha fans can enjoy seeing her in the entire movie and she does her part well. Director N. K. Vishwanathan Jaganmohini film is neither Scary nor entertaining. Even if you are a Namitha fan you may irritate watching movie at the end. Only satisfying think is the music of maestro Ilayaraja. The director had more opportunities to develop this seventies script to suit today’s fashion but lacked effect.
