Reviews
The first 30 minutes of the film looks very peppy and interesting and grips you to your seat, before slipping out into a run of the mill usual Kollywood style thriller. The film starts with a skimpy swim suit scene of Model Pooja (Lakshmi Rai) for an ad film shoot. The ad director uses a remote controlled toy helicopter fitted with a mini camera to get top angle shots of Pooja for the ad. But the toy spins out of control and lands on top of a tree.
Later, the ad director Vinod and Pooja are shocked to find that the camera has filmed a murder of the Law Minister of the State (Delhi Ganesh) by his rival (Sampath). Vinod informs the same to Joint Commissioner Kailasam (Thalaivasal Vijay), with out knowing that he is the real culprit in the murder.
After a few minutes Vinod is murdered by the goons of Sampath, who is now a minister and the tape is accidently put into the bag of young girl Divya (Priya Anand) by Anand (Jai) a struggling actor who is staying with his friend Chandru (Santhanam), a television camera man.
At this juncture John (Rahman) a cold-blooded assassin makes his entry and uses Anand and takes him along when he breaks into other peoples flats.
After this point, the film falls flat and travels along the usual route of Kollywood movies with expected twists! As can be predicted, Jai emerges as the real hero onscreen.
Jai has come up with a better performance than expected, although, there are shades of Vijay in his acting, which he can do away with.
Santhanam and Urvashi (as Pirya’s mother) have given a neat performance. Particularly, the hilarious meeting of Santhanam with Urvasi to shoot her ‘Samayal’ programme will be a popular scene hereafter in all TV channels for comedy time!
The climax fight is thrilling, but unbelievable.
There are some loopholes in the film, but in the end, the director has tied up everything well without sacrificing much of the entertainment quotient.
'Etho Seigirai...' is a popular number underYuvan's music and the background score also helps maintain the grip of the movie.
On the whole, Ahmad, the debutant director has done a neat job and has delivered a good entertainment in his very first attempt
