The Ghost Writer Movie Synopsis:
"The Ghost Writer" tells the story of a former British Prime Minister, Adam Lang (Pierce Brosnan), who is holed up on an island off the Eastern seaboard of the U.S. in midwinter, writing his memoirs. When his long-standing aide drowns, a professional ghostwriter (Ewan McGregor) is sent out to help him finish the book. The anonymous ghost writer is quickly drawn into a political and sexual intrigue involving Lang’s wife, Ruth (Olivia Williams) and his aide (Kim Cattrall). Hanging over Lang is the threat of a war crimes trial and a mysterious secret from his past that threatens to jeopardize international relations. The film is based on the Robert Harris novel "The Ghost."

Roman Polanski has reportedly screened his latest film The Ghost Writer at his home in Switzerland.

2 The director, who will not be allowed to attend the film's premiere at the Berlin Film Festival in Germany on Friday, is said to be delighted with the finished product.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, screenwriter Robert Harris said: "I don't know if he is disappointed not to be able to attend the premiere. I imagine he has been to quite a few premieres in his time.
"He was very happy with it, which was wonderful, but of course I am hugely biased."
Polanski, who is under house arrest, is waiting to learn whether he will be extradited to the US to face sentencing for his 1977 child sex case.

3 Pierce Brosnan has claimed that he hopes Roman Polanski finds "closure". Polanski is currently under house arrest after being taken into custody last year on a 1978 Us warrant for unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. Brosnan, who worked with the director before he was arrested on new film The Ghost Writer, praised his artistic skills. "Roman is iconic in the world of filmmaking," he told Parade. "His vocabulary is pure cinema. He knows the medium so well. But he carries so much baggage from his own life that you find him even more intriguing and captivating."
