AR Rahman the Mozart of Madras is all set to repeat his magic at the 83rd Annual Academy Awards. And if you thought that the genius from India has done us proud again, you are right. Except that he hasn't yet won the Golden Statuette, not yet.

Yesterday, the telecast producers of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards, Bruce Cohen and Don Mischer announced the artists who will perform the nominated songs on the Kodak Theatre stage on Oscar Night. Gwyneth Paltrow will perform 'Coming Home' from the film Country Strong.

Original Song nominee AR Rahman and Florence Welch, of Florence + the Machine, will perform 'If I Rise' from the film 127 Hours. "Rahman is nominated for writing the music (Dido and Rollo Armstrong are also nominated for the song's lyric).

Alan Menken, who is nominated for writing the music for 'I See the Light' from the animated film Tangled, will accompany singers Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi on the piano (Glenn Slater is also nominated for the song's lyric).

Randy Newman will perform his nominated song 'We Belong Together' from the animated film Toy Story 3. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2010 will be presented on Sunday, February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center. The Oscar presentation also will be televised live in more than 200 countries worldwide.

AR Rahman performing LIVE at the Oscars is worth a watch for us to get glued on to the television sets and if he wins the golden statuette, it will be a 'sone pe suhaga' moment.
