Review Of 'The Big C'Few shows manage to handle Cancer the way ‘The Big C’ does it; the show’s writers deserve a huge round of applause for handling this delicate storyline with such dexterity. Until now we had seen Cathy Jamison (the lead character) manipulate her surroundings to create the perfect ambiance. However on this episode aptly named “The Ecstasy and the Agony” Cathy’s world (read marriage) came crashing down.

During the course of the show we see that Cathy finds ecstasy at school and gives it a try with Lenny. One thing leads to another and they end up having sex on Porch. As luck would have it Paul enters the house and discovers Lenny and Cathy at it. A drunken meltdown ensues and he botches up a new promotional dinner event.

Meanwhile Adam gets teased by boys at a party for being a virgin, Andrea defends him by saying they had sex. Adam gets ashamed and calls Cathy and then Paul to pick him up. Paul is too inebriated to drive the car so he asks Adam to take the wheel instead and meets with an accident. Cathy gets the voice-mail and rushes to see Paul and Adam. The episode ended with Paul asking Cathy for a divorce. The saddest part is that Paul still does not know that Cathy has Cancer.
