LAHORE: The subordinate judiciary across Punjab, in a bid to protest against behavior of lawyers and sending Lahore District Judge on forced leave, tendered their resignations, Geo News reported Monday.

Meantime, the lawyers are observing Black Day against police manhandling.

The judges of the subordinate observed compete strike against behavior of lawyers and over 100 civil judges presented their resignations to the senior civil judge.

The judges of subordinate judiciary in other cities of Punjab, expressing solidarity with Lahore judges, presented their resignations to the related session judges and senior civil judges. And, the session judges dispatched these resignations to the Lahore High Court (LHC). However, the LHC sources did not disclose the exact number of these resignations.

The lawyers boycotted the courts in Peshawar High Court (PHC) and other districts of Balochistan including Quetta in protest against police maltreatment of the lawyers in Lahore and the judicial business is suspended.

Meantime, the Lawyers’ General House meeting is in progress.

The office-bearers of LHC Bar visited the courts and requested adjourning the hearings of cases.

Besides, Sheikhupura, the strike is underway in Faisalabad and Vihari District Bars as well.
