Arsenal vs West Bromwich Albion Match Preview
Cesc Fabregas is out for two to three weeks with a hamstring injury. It happened as a result of his challenge on Villa’s Anton Ferdinand at the weekend. That challenge resulted in a freak goal for the Gunners. Fabregas will miss the contest with West Bromwich Albion this weekend. He resolves, however, to be back in the squad for the following weekend’s big match-up with Chelsea. The Gunners’ latest worry is defender Kieron Gibbs, who suffered what was feared to be a broken metatarsal late in their 4-1 Carling Cup win over Tottenham midweek. Scans have since revealed, however, that there is no break but merely “severe bruising.”

This week has been a good one for West Bromwich Albion. They took three points off Birmingham last weekend with a 3-1 victory at The Hawthorns. They came from behind to do it, too, with goals from Peter Odemwingie, Jonas Olsson and Scott Dann. Scott Dann? That’s right, Scott Dann! The Birmingham defender contributed to the Baggies’ cause with an own goal. The Baggies also came from behind to beat Manchester City 2-1 at the Hawthorns midweek and thus progress to the next round of the Carling Cup. Goals from Zuiverloon and Cox gave the Baggies the win.
