Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has decided to postpone the release of his much-hyped film Anjaana Anjaani by a week after its lead actor Ranbir Kapoor persuaded him to do so. The actor feels that maintaining peace following the Ayodhya-Babri Masjid verdict is more important than his film.

Ranbir said that it (September 24) is not a good day to celebrate the release of a film, as the verdict could go anybody's favour, which could even lead to unfavourable atmosphere. He added that he still remembers the Babri Masjid demolition and the blasts. He thinks that the verdict is more important than a film's release.

Anjaana Anjaani was slated for release tomorrow but it has been postponed to October 1, as the release date coincides with the Allahabad High Court's pronouncement of the Ayodhya-Babri Mosque verdict. The film features Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles and is directed by Siddharth Anand.
