Bollywood Veteran Shabana Azmi was honoured with the Taj Enlighten Tareef Award for her outstanding contribution to Hindi Cinema.Shabana Azmi, who was humbled with the gesture expressed that she is honoured to receive the award which before her were already given to distinguished luminaries, whom she looks up to. She says thanks from the bottom of her heart for honouring her with such a prestigious award.
The actress received the award at the function held at the Cinemax Theatre on Sunday. Brook Bond Taj Mahal with the Enlighten Film Society chose the actress as the perfect contender for the award. The Taj Enlighten Tareef Award screened some of the best films
of the veteran like Ankur, Ek Doctor Ki Maut, Godmother, Dharavi and Fire every Sunday at Cinemax Versova from September 5 onwards.
Earlier this award was honoured to director Mrinal Sen, Screenplay writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar (husband of Shabana Azmi), and Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan.
