Germany and Spain meet in the FIFA World Cup 2010 semi-final on Wednesday 7 July 2010 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Report includes football betting tips.
Germany face Spain in an all-European semi-final on Wednesday 7 July 2010 in the 2010 FIFA World Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. And whereas Germany had a comfortable 4-0 victory over much fancied Argentina in the quarter finals, little Paraguay made the Spaniards battle hard for their 1-0 quarter final victory.
Germany So Far in the FIFA World Cup
Germany are buzzing. There’s no other word for it. After demolishing England 4-1 in the Round of 16, they followed it with a crushing 4-0 defeat of Argentina, rated as one of the best teams in the tournament. This young German side are beginning to look unbeatable and a long way from the 14/1 odds being quoted on them before the tournament started.
The destruction of Argentina started before the game was even three minutes old when Thomas Müller headed in a cross from man of the match Bastian Schweinsteiger. Thomas Müller though will have been sad to pick up a yellow card later in the game, which means he misses this semi-final.
Germany had to wait until half way through the second half to seal the game with two goals in six minutes, the first from Miroslav Klose and the second from Arne Friedrich. Miroslav Klose completed the rout with a fourth a minute from time.
This was the third time Germany have scored four goals in this tournament, beating Australia 4-0 in the first group game before losing 1-0 to Serbia and then beating Ghana by the same score.
