Daddy Cool is surly a big budget movie because there are many big stars. The movie is directed by K. Muralimohana Rao. Main casts of the movie are Sunil Shetty (Steven Lazarus), Aarti Chhabria (Nancy), Aashish Chaudhary (Brian), Tulip Joshi (Maria), Aaftab Shivdasani (Michael), Javed Jaffrey (Carlos), Kim Sharma (Jenny), Sophie Choudry (Ayesha), Rajpal Yadav (Andrew), Chunky Pandey (Harry), Suhasini Mulay (Mrs. Lazarus), Vijay Patkar (Pinto), Prem Chopra (Uncle Murphy) and Vrajesh Hirjee (Jim). Producer of the movie is Ashok Thakeria and Indra Kumar. Writer of Daddy Cool, Tushar Hiranandani has tried to put something new comedy in the movie story.
There is no doubt about the success of the Daddy Cool movie because there are the biggest comedy superstars. Sunil Shetty, Chunky Pandy and Rajpal Yadav have already proved their comedy talent. However, all the actors of the movie are perfect to show the real comedy in the movie. Javed Jaffrey as Carlos has played great role in the movie.
Daddy Cool is a Christian based movie which tells a story about funeral. The movie is based on “Daddy Cool Douglas Lazarus funeral”. It is Goa of India where tears, sad speeches etc. are given by family members but on the wrong body which is delivered by coffin makers. Sunil Shetty who is Good Son of Steven Lazarus and an aspiring writer, tries to give decent funeral including with rivers of Goa. His brother Brian (Ashish Chowdhry) is a successful writer from Mumbai who says every time, “He barely has money to support himself and his dogs.”
A real estate agent Pinto (Vijay Patkar), tries to deal a house for Nancy (Aarti Chabria), Steven’s wife who tries to leave her mother-in-law Mrs. A groom Michael (Aftab Shivdasani), Maria (Tulip Joshi) cousin, is nerves about meeting father-in-law, (Naseer Abdullah) in Daddy Cool movie.
Jenny (Kim Sharma) finds her husband Carlos (Javed Jaffrey) with the red- hot model Ayesha (Sophie Chodhry). Uncle Murphy (Prem Chopra) has beliefs in practicing “rapchick” to get the girls… “Blackmailer” Andrew (Rajpal Yadav) tries to appeal secret about late Douglas “Daddy Cool” Lazarus (Sharat Saxena).
Whole story of Daddy Cool movie moves around the funeral activities. With the story you will watch fun, enjoyment and a great comedy. Sunil Shetty is again in serious role of comedy but creates a great environment of fun. He is a dummy person like other comedy characters.
Daddy Cool is not a new movie with a unique story but we have already watched a Hollywood movie “Death at a Funeral (2007)” on the same theme. Story of the movie is also about the funeral of Daniel’s father. There is a rumor also about the story of the movie that Daddy Cool movie is copy of 2007 Hollywood film “Death At A Funeral”.
I have remembered one more Bollywood movie “Buddha Mar Gaya (2007)” which story is also similar to Daddy Cool movie. There are many Bollywood and Hollywood comedy movie on the same theme but as part of a movie. But “Death at a Funeral (2007)” and “Buddha Mar Gaya (2007)” is dedicated to the funeral. So, again we are close with one more funeral – Daddy Cool.
Daddy Cool movie releases on 28th August, 2009 at Indian theater. This season, we enjoyed much with Perfect Mismatch movie also. So, again we are ready to face one more the best comedy movie Daddy Cool like Snakat City, Shortcut – The Con Is On and Dekh Bhai Dekh movie. These all are comedy movie which make me laugh much.
