In Chicago, Sam Phelan and his wife Leslie are facing financial problems to pay their mortgage after a period of unemployment. While driving his old Buick below an overpass, Sam sees a wallet falling down on the hood and he finds that there are more than six hundred thousand dollars inside. Sam and Leslie quit their job; pay their mortgage; buy a Land Rover; and refurnish their house. Meanwhile a British criminal (Pyke Kubic) arrives from London to visit his brother Reeve Kubic in jail. He tells his brother that he had thrown the stolen money away to destroy the evidences of the heist but he had seen a Caucasian in an old car getting the wallet. Pyke chases and finds Sam and partially retrieves the money, but more than seventy-four thousand dollars have been spent by the greedy couple and Pyke wants them to refund the amount in five days
"Ca$h" is an entertaining movie where everybody is corrupt in the end, even those that have been robbed and declare a larger amount to benefit with the insurance. Sean Bean performs a peculiar but very dangerous criminal with a great knowledge of economics. Chris Hemsworth is the typical American low middle class with a great alienation and lack of general culture and the unknown Victoria Profeta is hot and very funny with her big mouth. The screenplay is enjoyable and the resolution of the situation is satisfactory. My vote is seven.

Breaking Upwards Synopsis:

Based on the filmmakers' actual experience, and starring the filmmakers themselves, "Breaking Upwards" explores a young, real life New York couple who, fours years into their relationship and battling codependency, decide to intricately strategize their own break up.
The film loosely interprets a year in their lives exploring alternatives to monogamy and the madness that ensues. It begs the question: is it ever possible to grow apart together?

Movie Review :
It's cute and entertaining and features some good acting, especially by the parents, but it contains some obvious flaws. First, there is no conflict development. The movie opens up with us seeing a few quick shots of how the relationship is stale, and then it immediately moves into them strategizing their breakup. Second, both Daryl and Zoe are supposed to be 23 years old. This jars with their lifestyle, in that they share a fancy west village apartment together, portray themselves as mature, working professionals, have been in a serious relationship together for four years, and have all the fears and phobias that seem to strike mid-to-late-twenties couples. And yet, they're only a year out of college? There are also some cliché moments, such as Zoe deciding at the spur of the moment to buy a little dog; Daryl having the token gay brother; and Daryl getting offered an amazing job in another city that ultimately causes the couple to split (at least, for now). Nonetheless, the ending is appropriate, in that it shows that both Daryl and Zoe still love each other but need to move forward in their lives, giving hope that the relationship may not really be over (a resolution you longed for, since they had obviously reached a stale point in the relationship but display a love for each other that neither might realistically find again).

The Greatest Synopsis:
"The Greatest" tells the story of Allen and Grace Brewer, a grief-stricken couple whose family has been pushed to the breaking point by the death of their older son, Bennett, in a car crash. When a young woman, Rose, shows up a few months later announcing that she is pregnant with Bennett's child, the Brewer's are forced to take her in. At first, Rose's presence threatens to tear the family even further apart but, eventually, her interaction with each of the Brewers proves to be the very thing that brings them back together.

Movie Reviews :
This is not a "feel good" movie, but its feelings are true. The story follows a family (mother, father, brother) of a young man killed in a car accident in the first scene of the movie. Their lives are jumbled up by the introduction of the son's (brother's) girlfriend. I thought all of the actors turned in fine, powerful performances. Even more impressive is that the writer/director of the film was a first time filmmaker. That she was able to get such a marvelous cast in her first film is amazing. This movie reminded me of "Ordinary People," updated for today. Of course there are differences, but it's the same genre.
Although I recommend the movie, know that it's kind of a downer. I have a feeling it won't do well because these days people want movies that are more of the "feel good" variety.
I saw over 20 films at Sundance this year and The Greatest was by far my favorite. The performances were truly special - I suspect (as a lot of people do) Carey Mulligan and Jhonny Simmons will become big stars because of this movie. Pierce was quite good as well - he shows a side we've never seen before and I applaud him for that. I've never been a big Bond fan but now I am a Pierce fan for sure. There is an excellent soundtrack to the movie - a lot of great bands - some that I actually wrote down and plan to check out. It was a lot more polished than anything I had seen in Sundance - it looked and felt like a real movie. The woman next to me went thru a box of tissues - it's pretty emotional but I left the theater feeling hopeful as opposed to sad. If it comes out in theaters I think it will do really well.

Psychologists and sociologists have been telling us so often that the Christmas season causes depression that we tend to believe this: easy enough if you personally find this true. There’s another minus to Christmas week, the opposite side of depression’s coin: that’s anxiety. In Nash Edgerton’s directorial debut, “The Square” features a fairly large number of people who may celebrate Santa’s season outdoors on a warm evening in suburban Sydney, Australia, but there’s no way they’re going to eat, drink and be merry for long.
“The Square” may remind cinephiles of Sam Raimi’s “A Simple Plan,” in which two brothers and a friend find four million dollars in the cockpit of a plane, a find that they’d wish they had never uncovered. In this Downunder evocation of the quote “Be careful what you wish for,” the plot opens with a bang, so to speak, as Ray (David Roberts) conducts in his car a segment of his long-standing affair with Carla (Claire van der Boom). Carla is married to a small-time, bearish criminal, Greg Smith (Anthony Hayes), who seems oblivious to what’s going on between his wife and the neighbor across the lake. When Carla discovers a bag full of money in her husband’s attic hiding place, she concocts a plan to steal it all, thereby allowing her to run away with Ray, employing Billy (scripter Joel Edgerton), an arsonist, to burn down the house thereby hiding the loss from her husband.
Carla plays Eve to Ray’s Adam this time, but there’s more than one snake in the grass in this working-class/middle-class ‘burb of Australia’s largest city. Quite a few people have secrets, whether they be adulterous relationships, outright criminal actions, blackmail, or kickback schemes. The plot becomes thick and twisty as the men and women run their power plays, coordinating plans with working-class accents that make some dialogue almost as difficult to understand as the Scottish banter in “Trainspotting.”

The Story : The Back-Up Plan is a romantic comedy film. The unmarried Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) is desperate for a child, and is artificially inseminated with the sperm of her male best friend.
Newly pregnant, but not yet showing and still unaware, she meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin), and the two start dating. Romantic complications ensue once she reveals to him she was pregnant when they met.

After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O'Loughlin) a man with real possibilities.
Trying to nurture a budding relationship and hide the early signs of pregnancy becomes a comedy of errors for Zoe and creates confusing signals for Stan. When Zoe nervously reveals the reason for her unpredictable behavior, Stan commits fully and says hes in.
Never before has love seen a courtship where a wild night of sex involves three in a bed Stan, Zoe and the ever-present massive pregnancy pillow. Or, where date night consists of being the focal point at a near-strangers water birth which does for kiddie pools what Jaws did for swimming in the ocean.
The real pregnancy test comes when both of them realize they really dont know each other outside of hormonal chaos and birth preparations. With the nine month clocking ticking, both begin to experience cold feet. Anyone can fall in love, get married and have a baby but doing it backwards in hyper-drive could be proof positive that they were made for each other.

Single gal Zoe (Lopez) meets potential husband Stan (O’Loughlin) on the day of her artificial insemination. Despite the initial spark, the two lovers begin to wonder if they’re taking the right steps to an enduring romance.
Chances are Jennifer Lopez’s second big-screen comeback attempt might be irresistible to the Sex and the City set (it’s cool that there’s a smattering of female-friendly movies this spring/summer). Look for a big return on a modest budget, though it’s doubtful Back-up will rack-up blockbuster numbers. Casting Patrick Dempsey might’ve helped to that end? Hopefully director Alan Poul, recently of the short-lived TV show “Swingtown”, will bring some of that show’s style to these proceedings.

Associated Press names Tiger Woods the ‘Athlete Of The Decade.’ Despite the recent events and affair allegations against Tiger Woods, The Associated Press has still decided to name Tiger Woods, the “Athlete of the Decade,” according to the New York Times.
