Her last appearance on the bada pardah was for her film Aaja Nachle. This time, Madhuri Dixit Nene returns, but to the small screen. She will be seen on Sony TV's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as one of the judges.

Says a source, "The channel had approached the actress and Shahid Kapoor to judge the show, as both are excellent dancers. Madhuri is game for reality show on dance and has more or less committed to it. Only the last formality the money is being discussed." Shahid hasn't yet confirmed his presence.

Out of contention Other celebrities approached were Navjot Singh Sidhu and Sourav Ganguly but both declined, citing date problems. The shooting for Jhalak starts November-end or the first week of December.

A source close to the actress says, "She is doing the show. She loves dance and feels it will be a great way of interacting with people. The channel wants to make a proper announcement next week after finalising all the judges, so she won't be able to talk about it now. The show begins from January next year."

Rikku Rakeshnath, Dixit-Nene's business manager, says, "The channel will make a proper announcement once everything is final."

Mad's last TV outing In 2002, Madhuri made her debut in television when she hosted a matchmaking reality show called Kahin Na Kahin Koi Hai.

She introduced prospective brides and grooms, and guided them and their families through the process of knowing each other.

Madhuri would also give them tips on love. However, reality TV was still a new concept then and after the initial excitement, the show failed to garner the required eyeballs and was taken off air.
