Actress Ileana D' Cruz is gearing up for her next film 3 Rascals, a remake of Bollywood blockbuster 3 Idiots. The actress is all set to play the female lead in this film directed by Shankar.

Ileana, who is currently filming Junior NTR's Shakti, recently had a lengthy discussion with the director about her role. She plays the role of a medical student, which was played by Kareena Kapoor in the original. It seems Shankar is making some minor changes to her character in the film to suit the taste of the regional audience.

However, she has reportedly been paid a whopping Rs. 1. 4 crore to play the lead in Telugu and Tamil versions. She will pair Mahesh Babu in Telugu and Vijay in Tamil. Shankar has finalized Jeeva for the third lead, which was played by Sharman Joshi in 3 Idiots. But he is yet to finalize the actor for second lead. Aarya, Silambarasan's name are doing rounds for second fiddle.

The movie will hit the floors on December 6.
