Trust directors in Bollywood to rope in Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan, whenever there is a good role in sight. And that is exactly what Krishna Shah did when he had the script of a film based on the life story of Baiju Bawra, the gypsy singer in hand. The film being stalled for a long time now, reports claim that it was music composer A R Rahman who inspired Krishna Shah to not only resume work on the Baiju Bawra project but also approach actor Aamir Khan for the lead role in the film. And it was then that the director offered the role of Baiju Bawra to the talented Khan who is known for choosing his roles with utmost care.

However the latest reports from Bollywood claim that Aamir Khan may not be a part of the upcoming movie as things did not work out between him and Krishna Shah. And now that the actor is no longer a part of his project, Krishna Shah, who is also the producer of the untitled Baiju Bawra project, plans to sell the script of his yet untitled project to a different director who will do justice to the film.

The Baiju Bawra project had been shelved by Krishna Shah because he was busy with his work on Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story. Reports claim that the film based on the life of Baiju Bawra was touted as one of the most extravagant films in respect of visual effects used in Bollywood.
