Synopsis:
Rakta Charitra film is a biographical tale of Paritala Ravi from Andhra Pradesh, a prime accused in a number of murder cases.
It is the story of a man’s phenomenal rise to power and a story of the most intense blood curdling conflict ever heard of between two individuals. Moreover, the story is also the ultimate statement on the often heard disastrous consequences of a fatal mixture of caste, crime, family feuds and politics.

The Story:
Ratha Charithra is based on lives of two bigwigs of Andhra Pradesh; Parithala Ravi and Maddalcheruvu Suri. In which, Vivek Oberai playing the role of Paritala Ravi on whose life the movie is based on, Surya portrays the character of Maddalcheruvu Suri, and Paritala Ravi’s opponent.

Rakta Charitra is a forthcoming trilingual Indian film written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma, made simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil languages. As the entire film is said to last for about 5 hours, the film will be divided into two parts, which will be releasing within three months gap.[1] The film is said to depict the life of the slain political leader Paritala Ravindra,[1] played by Vivek Oberoi, with Tamil actor Surya Sivakumar, enacting the role of Maddelacheruvu Suri, Shatrughan Sinha, playing N. T. Rama Rao, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Radhika Apte and Priyamani in other pivotal roles.Revenge, a verb and a noun, that has been a predominant topic for a movie in Telugu or rather Indian cinema. And one man who took ‘Revenge’ to the next level through horrid and gory-filled movies like ‘Sathya’, ‘Company’etc. is back with his next! Ramgopal Varma, director par excellence and an adroit technician has worked on a script called ‘Rakta Charitra’ which was publicised as a real life story is nothing but a legend of a revenge that continues to haunt a few people in Andhra Pradesh.

Rakta Charitra Movie Review:
Ramgopal Varma is the child of sensation and controversy! He walks, sleeps and talks with the two! Whatever right he does is a controversy and whatever his profession demands is a sensation. Nothing really exaggerating here but if you’ve observed his style of film making then you would agree that his ideas are not just instructions from a text book!

We’re letting just the story line out and nothing more! ‘Raktha Charithra -1’ as you all know is a reel account of a dreaded politician but get this straight to your mind, this movie only holds a line of that real life story and everything else is creative fiction.

‘Rakta Charitra 1’ starts in Anantapuram, land of faction where violence is the way of life! Family feuds exist aplenty and one such feud that made history is shown. A father and brother are killed and the younger son (Vivek Oberoi) takes to weapons to avenge their death.Ramgopal Varma (or should we call him RGV from here, he’s popular that way) loves cinema and isn’t that evident when he decides to make a movie on a real life incident that according to him is a subject that is unique and ‘deserves to be told to a much wider audience’. He explains the rise of Pratap in this part and then through his narration speaks of a character (Suriya) who will lead to Pratap’s fall, thereby paving the way for Rakta Charithra 2!

Bravo RGV! Your celluloid depiction is the best of these times and your content is quite simple yet one would term that as ‘boiling blood spilt on the ground’! But as a member of an audience, don’t mistake this movie to be an action entertainer! It is a revenge drama made for the sheer love of movie making!Hyderabad-born Indian film director Ram Gopal Verma is expected to continue to excel with the eagerly anticipated Raktacharitra expected to release in 2010. Rakta Charitra is the story of politician Paritala Ravindra, a communist who was murdered in January 2005 in broad daylight, leading to a violently turbulent period in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.

Politics, power play and crime are themes that Ram Gopal Verma has particular expertise in. His debut movie Shiva, followed by the likes of Satya, Company and D, got him numerous awards and a reputation for depicting the peculiarly violent, dirty and ruthless power-politics of India.
The star cast of Rakta Charitra is lead by Vivek Oberoi playing Paritala Ravi, Shatrughan Sinha and Mohan Babu playing N. T. Rama Rao in Hindi and Telugu versions respectively, Surya Sivakumar palying Maddalcheruvu Suri and Radhika Apte playing Paritala Sunita.
Actor Subrat Dutta, who is also playing a short role in Raktacharitra, is the winner of the Best Actor award at 2009 Cairo International Film Festival.
Vivek Anand Oberoi, also born in Hyderabad, is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Suresh Oberoi. Many people think Vivek Oberoi should do many more films than he does, and has world-class character acting abilities, at par with or exceeding the best mainstream talent seen in commercial Indian cinema.
Vivek was first seen in Ram Gopal Verma’s Company.
