It has been claimed that Prince William and longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton will be married in June 2012.
(PEOPLE.com) -- Mark your calendar -- again. Prince William and Kate Middleton will wed in June 2012, it is now claimed.

Two weeks ago the hunches were that the great event would take place in 2011. The latest in the race to name the date for the long-standing couple's nuptials has them tying the knot at Windsor's St George's Chapel in 2012, the same year the Olympics come to Britain and William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, marks the diamond jubilee of her reign.

Confused? That's understandable as the newest claim, in the News of the World Sunday, comes after another report that any wedding will take place in August 2011 at Westminster Abbey, London.

But that story, from the Daily Mail, was denied by the palace. Royal sources tell PEOPLE they have not been instructed to undertake any possible preparations for any upcoming marriage.

Middleton and William, both 28, have been dating on and off for about eight years. This past weekend, they spent at the Queen's Scottish estate, Balmoral, along with some of their friends.
