Jeremy Garelick Directing Hassle Man for Universal
The Break-Up screenwriter Jeremy Garelick will be making his feature film directorial debut with a new comedy entitled Hassle Man for Universal, according to Deadline New York.
Eli Jorne and Reed Agnew are writing the script for Garelick and, while little is known about the story, the logline is said to be, "When you can't hire a hit man, hire a hassle man." George Nolfi is producing the film along with Scarlett Lacey and Michael Hackett.
Garelick has also been hired to write the screenplay for An Ex to Grind, an adaptation of the Jane Heller novel of the same name, a film that we announced back in April which has Benicio Del Toro and Cameron Diaz attached to star. The film centers on Del Toro's character, a once-famous athlete who supported his waitress wife (Diaz). However, when his career is cut short by an injury, and she becomes a successful businesswoman, she files for divorce. She then finds out that she will have to pay him alimony, so she sets him up with a future wife to avoid paying.
No production schedule for either film has been released, and we'll be sure to keep you posted with any further information on both film projects as soon as we have more information.
